  • I love how the jokers origins are never revealed , he came out of nowhere like a summoned demon . He came with no plan other than to create chaos and thwart batmans ideology , Im not even sure if the joker even really cared about batmans true identiy in the end . The jokers last ditch effort to ruin gothmans hope and bring it to its kness , was harvey dents damaged two face persona . Which literally placed the joke on everyone else in the end .

  • Love how the joker mocks batmans voice in this scene

"And tonight your gonna break your one rule "

  • 1:33- that's that invisibility factor he learned from Ra's.

  • He squints before getting his head smashed on the table

  • @TehObamaLazor because he was in the dark and he was adjusting his eyes to the light

  • it's funny how Christian Bale is English but in the movie he speaks American

  • @starfox300 Heath Ledger was australian in the movie he speaks english

  • @starfox300 Batmans not english so it makes sense.

  • 2:44 SOUNDTRACK PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PS: I LOVE THE JOKER

  • I don't know if it's just me but I personally believe that no one in the world could of played a better joker!!!! PS he also had the best laugh I have ever heard in my entire life!!! I MISS YA HEATH!!! He is still my fav actor and still the sexiest guy I've ever seen!!!

    RIP-3

  • Batman; what's that Joker? You'll be back? Something tells me you're not

  • I know why Batman couldn't get Rachel; he only knew Harvey's full street address.

  • LOOK AT YOU GOO...........

  • Haha! I love this scene!

  • "Aww, don't start with the head! It makes the victim all...fuzzy...You can't feel the next hi-"

    *Smashes Joker's hand*

    "...See?"

  • Its too bad Heath Ledger got AIDS from that gay cowboy movie

  • best laugh in the flipping world

  • "The only sensible way to live in this world is without rules."

  • i love how he gets the shit beat out of him, yet he still.laughs

  • Who the fuck is Joey Benjamins?

  • I just caught the references to The killing joke here

  • i never realized till now that Joker actually gave him the wrong adresses right? or did Batman really choose harvey.

  • @landfill2 Of course, he gave him the wrong adresses in purpose. Or so I think.

  • Batman, so far in the trilogy, is still a developing person with martial arts experience, but not the same type of mental and philosophical control in the comics. its not that bale is bad actor at portraying batman, but that he acts naive; has never seen the likes of bloodthirsty joker. the joker is fully developed as a criminal. the only reason why the two don't share the iconic nemesis is that batman isnt developed and the joker is only getting his first taste of crime

  • lol i dont know what the joker was thinking, but im pretty sure 90 percent of you wouldn't wanna screw around with batman

  • Health Ledger died before he could re-record his lines, so Nolan edited his voice in the movie. Besides, you don't win an Oscar for the way you talk, he did an awesome job in this movie, I was just pointing out his voice had been digitally altered at points and it has.

  • This is gold

  • Such a great scene. I can't wait for the third one to come out!

  • this name should be called '' Joker '', not '' Batman ''

  • Tom and Jerry, Batman and Joker, Frajola and Pipiu... this guys dont want to kill each other but, what would they do without each other

  • not that i dont like heath version. i find this joker too dark, while nicholson joker is too goofy. i like the balanced version the most, mark hamill joker.

  • @amazo88 but mark hamil only voices the joker...

  • @Kilox1000 i know. i meant the cartoon joker n arkham city joker, not mark hamill himself.

  • @amazo88 you can't really compare a real joker to a cartoon joker.

  • @Kilox1000 a "real" joker? shit,i better go into hiding somewhere he cant find me. :)

    actually,i can n i have. why not?

  • @amazo88 you can't compare a real joker (as in an actor) to a animated cartoon joker who is only played by a VOICE. cause thats all you have to do, mastter the voice. heath ledger has to move, and act like joker. he has to make the right facial expressions, the right makeup/costume. mark hammil is just a voice, the joker can be animated perfectly, acting him out as a human on the other hand is much harder. so they can't really be compared.

  • @Kilox1000 if u r looking at it from the acting perspective, then yes u r right. but i was talking about jokers personality.

  • @amazo88 I'm talking about both. portraying the jokers personality in a cartoon is easier than portraying him in a real movie.

  • @Kilox1000 well, like i said,i was strictly talking about how jokers personality was designed. it all comes down to the character designing process bfor the movie/cartoon is made. im just saying i like cartoon joker more. n what,u cant respect others' opinion? if u like heath joker more,go ahead.

  • @amazo88 I didn't say either was better. I said you can't compare them cause there completely different.

  • @Kilox1000 so if i cant compare them,i cant say which is better? n if none of them is better/worse,i cant like 1 of them more than the others? so its either like them both or hate them both?

  • @amazo88 of course you can like one more. but you can't really say one is better....thats like saying pizza is better than an xbox....or comparing 2 different things...

  • @Kilox1000 wait,u seem to be confused here. where did i say 1 joker is better than the other? i was only saying i like cartoon joker more, since the beginning. u r the one who seems to think that i say one of them is better.

when i say i like cartoon joker more,it doesnt necessarily mean its bcos cartoon joker is better. besides how else can u like something more if not through comparing?

  • @amazo88

What he means is that it isn't fair to compare them, because they are far too different. To a starving man, a pizza is better than an Xbox, however, if you're completely bored, you will likely take the Xbox.

likewise, the jokers all appeal to a vastly different audience, and as such, are not nececsarily better or worse than each other, just fulfilling different roles. I've never seen a "bad" joker.

that being said, you CAN like one better (Arkham Asylum had my favorite)

  • @SetsuNinja yes,i understand theyre too different to compare, but i cant help it. like i said, how else can i like something more if not thru comparing? which is why i was limiting the comparison strictly in both jokers personality, not how both actors portray joker. n for the record,i never said 1 joker is better than the other.

  • if batman punched me like that with his armour

    id cry like a bitch

    joker=badass

  • Lol, I'm always like that. I always laugh when I get hurt.

  • I always laugh at his Clown Legs when he gets flipped on the table.

  • Did he die?

  • @JoeCaliforniah yes heath ledger died awhile back now

  • Heath Ledger was fucking amazing in this film, incredible, so tragic he died, rest in peace Heath -3

  • @2frey84 sorry im dumb but, how did he die?

  • @MrGunnyboddy He overdosed on prescription drugs and was suffering from lack of sleep and other things which is why he was taking the pills in the first place. It was an accident, but very sad.

  • @MadHatterLuverJoker thanks man

  • LOL "you complete me"

  • This is genius. It's an amazing thing to look at something like this and know this is the greatest performance I'll ever see in my lifetime.

  • ... like a lepper :D

  • geeze...this was the best scene in the whole movie.

  • I would never have guessed that Heath Ledger was acting The Joker... WORDS DONT EVEN BEGIN TO FUCKING DESCRIBE HIM!

  • Heath Ledger owned this scene here.

  • @demotto44 I think Heath Ledger died half way through the movie, this is a different guy. I think...

  • @TetraWins He died half way through "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and replaced him with three other actors so his daughter could have money since he hadn't updated his will since her birth. He made it through this movie but died before the editing was finished. Made it though and they didn't need to redo any scenes and were able to release it. If it was even him in this movie at all... JK. One of his best, though.

  • @AGracelessLady Thanks :)

  • @TetraWins No actually Heath went on to do one more movie - The Imaginarium of Dr. Pernassus. It was during that film that he died.

  • @demotto44 are u kidding???he owned the entire movie!!!

  • Introduce a little anarchy. Upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos.

    Best quote i ever hear.

  • 1:40 WHO PUNCHES A HAND ???

  • Comment removed

  • WHERE ARE THEY ?!!

  • @EpicDubTime23 Its more like WAEBGIWEBR ARRHREHHEHEH THHHEROERORORROR??????

  • Intense. Best performances by both Bale and Ledger.

  • LAWL "Look at you go!"

  • Love the sound of batmans punches, if I was in the same room with the room would probably tremble every time he hit the joker

  • Damn, that laugh at 4:30 sents chills down my spine.

Def. one of the best acting performances I have ever seen.

  • The lightning in this scene with the one lamp and the light above reminded me of the way Coppola used lighting in some of the scenes from "The Godfather."

  • i prefer Jack Nicolson as joker but this guy is also awesome

  • @Andaril2 it's Heath Ledger not a ''guy''...he was better than Nicholson in my opinion...you should watch the whole movie...

  • 2:17 This is the Joker's soul on display. The Joker was the only one of Batman's enemies that acted like his equal even when he was doing his shtick. When Alfred said "Some men just want to watch the world burn" that was the Joker.

Victor Hugo made the Man Who Laughs, and Bob Kane made the Joker out of Ursa. Heath Ledger nailed the malevolence, Jack Nicholson only managed to redo Cesar Romero's Joker with better makeup and a bit of lunatic anger in comparison.

  • i wonder what the rest of the joker's speech would have been like if batman didnt snap

  • 4:30 is what makes the joker a beast

    R.I.P Heath Ledger

  • You... complete me...

Tom Cruise had nothing on this, great line put in derranged hands.

  • See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve. :D

  • THAT LAUGH IS SICK XD

  • Fucking sick!

  • Imagine Batman hiting Bieber like that :')

  • @theguyofmexico I want Joker to do the pencil trick on Bieber.

  • @theguyofmexico nooo how yoo compare to the Joker with that gay

  • @theguyofmexico He'd probably say, "Ow! That didn't feel good! I don't why he just slammed my head on the table, flipped me on the table, and threw my head against the window!"

  • @theguyofmexico now there's an idea

  • never start with the head the victim gets all fuzzy

he can't feel the next (slam!)............see

    lol XD

  • It is ironic that the nemesis in the new batman movie is bane because in this new batman franchise the joker really is the bane of batmans existence. Unfortunately ledger died but if there was ever a part to go out on (yes he made the dylan movie after, which is still quite the part) it was this

  • This is a classic scene.

  • They REALLY did the psychotic scociopath thing good. I have an ex girlfriend who ACTUALLY sounds similar to the way he talks. With the, "Me? I was right here. Who did you leave him with?" cop out of anything to do with something bad implicating them. She turned out to be schizophrenic. Go Batman! Fuck em up! Fuckin psychos!

  • why does the joker close his eyes right before he gets slamed the first time? did he expect it?

  • @w8ting4fri might be due to the lights being turned on. It was quite dark before, so he may have squinted.

  • @Chimney699 good thinking

  • LOOK AT YOU GO!

  • never start with the head the victim gets all fuzzy

he cant feel the next [slam!].............see

    XD lol

  • i love the music playing in the background those dark bells make it so much better!

  • i just can't imagine someone else doing the joker role

  • Heath's joker must be one of the bests movie bad guys of history

  • No blood on Joker? I love this vid.

  • joker is nothing without batman, batman is nothing without joker, and this movie is nothing without heath ledger

  • @DarkSoldier396 this movie is nothing cause Nolan did a terrible job on the whole batman concept. Still, better than other batman movies

  • Comment removed

  • Can't help but feel like the Joker jacks off to his daily Batman beatings

  • bitch went hard

  • The Joker gained upper hand vs Batman b/c The Joker knew Batman's weak spots which are following the rules and Rachel. As a Chinese old saying, you are in better strategic position when you are staying in dark spot and keep your enemy guessing ur next move. That's what exactly happened here.

  • Thanx for sharing this. I do own the DVD (2 actually) but Im the hospital so I have no a means of watching it thanx to you! ! God bless

  • I AM SORRY I BROKE YOUR RULE GIANT BAT!!!!

  • joker make up was class here :)

  • he was in control the whole time

  • you know what they say....it only hurts when i laugh

  • @PHYCOpoison : Upvote for Under the Red Hood reference.

  • @ShauryaVermaIITKGP you see right through me

  • you have all these rules....and you'd think they'd save you....

  • honestly i didnt like bale as batman, but i love this movie

  • no one can do better than Heath Ledger at 4:29. Saint!

  • @MattPicton96 shame he died :( he was a great actor

  • The bat smacked the joker in this movie, I hope bane does the same to him in TDKR.

  • no im wiggles

  • @surpremecoolness22 WHO PUNCHES A HAND?

  • lol i like how he closed his eyes right before batman slammed his head

  • @tronmaster6 he closed his eyes cuz of the lights....

  • @Cianoliza yeah i kno now lol but thanks

  • Joker is the ultimate troll! He is fucking hilarious!!!!!

  • Funny fact: Heath Ledger his head really bashed against the table. He asked for it because he could better act to it if it really happened

  • i have been a batman fan for nearly 20 years....

i have seen him only once laugh out loud at harley quinn

i have seen him break a mutant leaders bone in half

i have seen him put a batarang in the eye and paralyze the joker

I have seen him maim and kill in burtons films like there's no freakin tomorrow

in all my years as a fan i don't think i was ever as intimidated than by the fury of the batman on screen. i don't care what anyone says Bale sold me as the best batman

  • @TheUnrealStudios What even with that stupid voice that made him sound like one of Marge's sisters from the Simpsons?

  • @slipperywhenwetuk it's really not bad, it sounds demonic and necessary for someone who is in the public eye. it maintains the dark knight image.

  • @TheUnrealStudios Been a Batman fan for over 30 years... and seeing Bale as the Batman was unsettling but you knew who got under Batman's skin the most.

  • @kmikl 30 years? Impressive. "Unsettling" in a good way or a bad way? People say his voice is too bad and adam west said this scene was too "dark". i think he encompasses what batman would be like in reality.

  • @TheUnrealStudios In a goodish sort of way. Batman was always really campy up until Frank Miller took a try at making him into a real character with integrity but real flaws. The way Bale plays that iteration of the character is the truly *DARK* Knight. Couple that with a Joker that truly just wants to get under Batman's skin and undo him as a hero.

That is a potent mix of character types.

  • @TheUnrealStudios Great comment about Bale as Batman and I agree. Though, personally I am still intimidated most by his 'interrogation' of Flass in BB when he hangs him upside down, "DO I LOOK LIKE A COP?!" I love that line.

I still love Conroy though. I think Batman is such a brilliant symbol it can live with multiple incarnations. Kindof like Robin literally has had.

  • @Redspy27 love the flass scene too "i swear to god i don't know" "SWEAR TO ME!" when i compare that to burtons on the roof scene with "what are you!?" i think bales is more believably intimidating because of voice, appearance and attitude.

Conroy holds a special place in my heart and don't get me wrong he's the voice i imagine when reading all batman comics.

i should have said "best live action batman" because people say keaton does a better job as bruce and batman and i disagree IMO.

  • @TheUnrealStudios Completely agree. Batman should be either mysteriously menacing, which is how I would describe Conroy, more to the crime solving tactically genius side. Or brutally menacing like Bale/Nolan's. Keaton was neither and anyone who would come across him in that ridiculous rubber suit of his would laugh his brains out. Also, the Keysi fighting style they gave Bale's Bat is in my opinion a big part of what makes him as brutal as a green baret or something. Keysi is so tank-like.

  • @Redspy27 see i know it's a generation thing on why keaton is so popular but he doesn't sell it to me. Apart from the atmosphere i do not care for his batman since he kills.

well fans still got the detective angle in TDK. i think the whole taking fingerprints off the shattered round instead of ballistics was awesome and very worlds greatest detective like but yes the brutality is what sets him apart from TAS.

yeah keysi is cool, french street level fighting too :)

  • @TheUnrealStudios Hm I hadn't remebered him killing someone. What scene was that (I for one won't bother watching the whole movie for it)? Cause I think it's the biggest flaw any Batman incarnation could have. As Bruce says by Nolan's hand "It's what separates us from them." It's essential to what Batman represents.

But oh well, I dislike pretty much everything Burton has made anyway.

  • @Redspy27 I know! and it's so hypocritical that the cops never go after him for it (well when he was framed for the ice princess)

Batman: throws the guy down the chruch tower staircase, auto pilots the batmobile to go into the factory and drop explosives on goons, attaches jokers leg to gargoyle ultimately causing him to fall.

Returns: batmobile spins around and ignites the fire blowing clown on fire with the turbine, puts a bomb on the strong man and throws him down the chimney, etc

  • @TheUnrealStudios At the time it was better because Tim Burton's Batman was supposed to be a reluctant hero that would rather inhabit the shadows instead of point the spotlight into them.

Keaton played a bit of a hybrid of Bob Kane's with a minor in Frank Miller's Batman as envisioned by Burton, but Bale plays Miller's Batman pretty cut and dry.

  • this iS BEST SCENE EVAH

  • Ageqe

  • to them, you are a freak, like me, they need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out.!! and " you have nothing, you have nothing to threaten me " No doubt, Joker was way smarter than batman... and the best line " I don't want to kill you, what would I do without you? go rip off my dealers?? you complete me..!! best Joker ever.. He made this movie a success, Batman.. he is just... eh.. the main character.!

  • Best scene in a Batman film.

  • I've only just worked out that the joker sends batman purposefully to Harvey instead of Rachael... I thought it was Batmans choice! and I've seen this so many times. Clever me.

  • 4:18 looks so damn real and makes my head hurt everytime

  • God i miss heath ledger so much why couldnt it be bieber

  • @thatoneguy5525

    *Falls on knees* WHHHHHHYYYYY!?!

  • @thatoneguy5525 hell yeah to that

  • When he says "look at you go!" ...... I get chills. Over and over again.

  • joker is the best

  • WHERE ARE THEY!!!!!!!!!!! PUNCH!!!!!

  • He intentionally gave the opposite so that whatever he chose would be against that hard choice.

  • my brother in law is a nypd officer and he told me that this scene is not right cause a make up like that is considered by the law as a mask, they would clean his face even if he doesn't want to just for the record

  • @hombremonja I'm pretty sure there are some severe differences in the setting between NYPD and Gotham. One is an allegory for the epitome of corruption, a central hub for all that is wrong with humans. The other is a real city, with real people who actually care. Accuracy matters only up to a certain point, I think!

  • @Ruchrono i know what u mean i just think that the policemen would clean his face with soap before the inerrogation is what they would you im real life... just saying

  • @hombremonja why so serious?

  • @hombremonja well the thing is, they couldnt find out ANYTHING as to he is or was. no birth certificate, name, records, not even with dna. thats fucking scary. its like he was spawned directly from hell

  • @Da1337Man i understand man, but i mean you can clean his face right? ... i know policemen would do that before the interrogation .. i know some people arrested in halloween who have been clean up their make up with a towel and soap as soon as they get to the police station!

  • @hombremonja When they captured him , Harvey and Rachael was immediately kidnapped , therefore they wanted a direct and quick interrogation given the fact that the joker is a dangerous man .

  • watch the batman vs joker part while listening to "only you" by the platters. JUST DO IT!!!!

  • Why 27 people are so serious?

  • The first time I watched this movie was on the way back from my Holiday on the plane with my Ipad! :D

  • Gotta love the character.. but the music still makes me a bit nauceous...

  • "Does it depress you commissioner to know just how alone you really are?": that was a really powerful line he said

  • WHERE ARE THEY!?

  • "you complete me." Joker Maguire.

  • Batman gave him the beating..... not that he deserved, BUT THE ONE, THAT HE NEEDED!

  • IS A FUCKIN GOD!!!

    RIP Heath

  • 4:32 Easily the best laugh of any Joker incarnation. You can't create that kind of madness, you're born with it. Something he has over every other character, they can't handle what he is. Coming from someone who studies criminal psychology heath had the sadist and schizophrenic aspect of the character nailed.

  • @Ninety9Soulz that type of madness can be created. if you study criminal psychology you would know that such sadism can come from a lack of socialization during childhood.

  • @THEVIDEOARBITRATOR I agree a lot of the behavior is influenced by your childhood and environment but I also think some is pre determined. Dahmer for example had a relatively decent childhood but ended up..well that speaks for itself.

The reason I said what I did is because in a sense the Joker has no past, no explanation for his being, essentially madness in physical form.

  • @Ninety9Soulz I agree that in some cases it can be predetermined but I think for the most part the upbringing plays a major role.

i think the Joker does have a past, its just that he uses many fabrcations when he sees fit. I think in one comic he said he liked his past to be "personal choice." I would say his habitual lying is a symptom of a more grand psychological disorder.

  • @THEVIDEOARBITRATOR Yeah that's true
