That's what's called a "straw man argument". You've chosen to construct a straw man and fight it instead of me. I never said they were "on the same level". There are different levels of terrorism. e.g. Planting a fake bomb is different from planting a real bomb and different from a stranger running out of the dark and throwing an unindentifiable object at Anne; different levels of terrorism.

Throwing a pie is prosecutable in many states as battery--albeit not as assault. When strangers do it to a victim by surprise, without the victim's consent, in order to instill fear in the victim and/or in members of the victim's group, that's terrorism. Planting a fake bomb isn't intended to hurt anybody either and that's not even a physical attack, but it's very much terrorism.

A fake bomb with a note attached which says "The next one's gonna be real!" is not dangerous or violent, but planting such a harmless device is an act of terrorism--even if there's no real bomb forthcoming. Violence is only justifiable in self defense of other violence.
