Does it only turn clockwise? I am lefthanded and would likely find it much easier to hold and turn in the opposite direction.

I just got myself one of these; it's so much fun to use. It's shades of the Little Red Spinning Wheel toy which was popular in the later 50's and early 60's. I've already made one red eyecord and am working on a white one; my sister and a friend of hers gave me a bunch of yarn to work with; I'm going to have fun making hats and stuff like that.
