I don't know if they still make this show, but some of the shows were filmed on location at Bramley Training area in Hampshire. And when I had some spare time away from the Army I would take a look at the filming. It is all fake! Some real guys actually build all the stuff etc and the guys in daft coloured outfits take the credit when the camera's roll!

My husband was a contestant on series five got through to the semi finals. You had to be hunting for items for at least 2 - 3 hours before they give you a hint to where things may be lying around. So yes there is help and trickery. Its television.

The Hammerlocks. My husband is Psycho with the long hair and long goatee beard. They did the challenges; Blind navigation, Monowheel and digger.

Series 5 was in 2002, and I remember that well. In Blind Navigation, the Hammerlocks built a gyroscope-guided ambulance; in Monowheel, they used a giant tractor wheel with a very small moped motor inside it; in Diggers, they built a drag-line digger mounted on a 4x4. Also, the digger challenge was voted 9th place in the Scrapheap Challenge's top 10 Hard and Hardy challenges!
