  • jomm oooo

  • it's so obvious chaves is a evil warmongering dictator just like the news says! haha

  • Hugo Chavez ate the crops

  • This is the revolution we've been waiting for, this is what 1917 wasnt, a democratic government implementing Industrial democracy, direct worker control of production. This and nothing else will silence all critics, and lead the International Left. Chavez has been in power for over 12 years and less then 500,000 people work in cooperatives, the revolution has to press forward, and focus on infrastructure, these cooperatives cannot be setup only to fail for lack of funding.

  • As someone said, "every cook [and farmer-worker] should govern". Otherwise Hugo will be overthrown and, as in Chile in 1973, many people will die.

  • communism never works

  • "From net exporter to importer" That's all you need to know about the success of Chavez's policies.

  • A dictator by any other name... When you start seizing land from rich landowners to "improve" production the end is not far off. This is a step that all the great dictators make. Production doesn't improve and "traitors" are blamed. After that, everyone, rich or poor, is fair game. Venezuelans run now while you still can.

  • Very well done video ALjazerra showing both sides of the issue

  • I think this is the main reason Al Jazeera disables comments. They're sick of people feeding the trolls, being the trolls, and blowing stuff out of proportion.

  • WHITES complaining og chaves way of governing..... HA HA AFTER WHITES KILLED MILLIONS OF NATIVE AMERICANS AND STOLE THEIR LAND NOT JUST IN THE U.S, BUT ALL OVER THE CONTINENT.

  • It frustrates me to read people supporting chavez when they haven't lived in venezuela and experienced how screwed up the country is because of him

  • @SolidGaby

It is extremely frustrating that people even think the expropriation of land in Venezuela is somehow heroic and just. The shortage of milk and other agricultural products were not an issue before Chavez's government began taking over lands and destroying the work that people had been doing for decades or centuries before his government came along.

  • @SolidGaby it frustrates me how you're from Canada and complaining about people supporting Chavez. Since before Chavez took office, the oil company ran the country and the government were so corrupted that it put half of the population into dire poverty. Chavez is trying to make 21 century socialism work, while in USA everyone is for themselves. Canada is a liberal socialist country, so you better go to the USA and join the "American Dream".

  • @hungjizz I just moved to Canada, I'm Venezuelan and I'm against American Imperialism so I really don't understand where you are coming from. You think that Chavez eliminated corruption in venezuela? don't be so naive, everything is PROPAGANDA. Some of Chavez's ideas may be good and his position towards america is correct but it still doesn't stop him from being a clown. It has been 12 years and Venezuela is still in the dump.

  • @SolidGaby so how come you were able to migrate to Canada instead of the poor people of Venezuela? it seems like the only Venezuelan who hates Chavez were the rich that had to share their wealth with the economy. Just like the rich farmers in this video who used Venezuelan resources to feed their pockets while people are getting nothing in their stomach is this PROPAGANDA as well?

  • This will be america in 10 years. Instead of farms, it will be McDonalds, WalMart, etc.

  • Anybody with a sense of history can see the outcome of this miles away. Chavez's takeover will be popular, people will say this is a "new kind" of socialism, then the co-operatives will turn out to be inefficient, prices will go up, and Chavez will use the popular discontent to justify even bigger intervention.

And in one or two decades, when a new dictator in the making will comes along, people will again say, "this is the new kind of socialism."

  • @philbelanger2

Much of that's already happened. Their inflation's a problem, but is very much the result of government policies.

  • Best of luck to Venezuela. Chavez seems to be doing right by his people.

  • @OurFadedGarden

LOL Creating food shortages and inflation is doing right?

  • @OurFadedGarden

How is he fixing it? Does this look like fixing to you?

  • @OurFadedGarden

You didn't look at those numbers, you stupid fuck? Fuck you. You're a waste of breath.

  • @OurFadedGarden

Anger is the result of an unexpected loss, with the confidence in the outcome and marginal utility of the loss determining the severity of the anger, you idiot. Besides, you can't rationally claim that you can judge the emotional state of another in a comment section of a youtube upload.

    Again, you're stupid.

  • Terrible... I don't know why Argentina gave Chavez "Press Freedom Award" :-P

  • has statism ever worked?

  • ...Chavez forcing fascist landowners to farm. ...what a concept, ...weeding out the padroni's ...hmmm, if we could only force our government here in the USA to...govern. Weed out the corporate bootlickers. If a one world government is the planets destiny...then i'll vote for Chavez as our one world leader.

  • Co-operatives are something completely different than the Soviet kolkhozes. These farms are actually run by the people who work there, and not by some bureaucrats in Caracas who have no idea about how to run a farm. This project have proven highly successful in Venezuela, with the farmers themselves sharing the profits of the work that they do (as opposed to one landowner who taking the profits the work of the farmers). The food from these farms are in turn sold at subsidized prices for the poor

  • corporate land grab. agenda21 here we come.

  • I wonder if this will end up like the kolkhoz and sovkhoz of the former Soviet Union.

  • This is fascinating. My impulse is to condemn this but we will all see what happens, its a good experiment.

  • @DHtrousers It is an experiment which was tried in the Soviet Union and in Zimbabwe (amongst other places), and it has usually ended poorly, with farms ruined through shoddy practice.

  • @fourganger88 Holding Zimbabwe up as an example to Venezuela shows how little you know about agriculture or geo politics,Besides America and UK are the worst rights violators in History neither country has a leg to stand on when it comes to human rights, the fact that their residents think that they should have a say in what other Nations do just shows how ignorant of the world (most) of their residents are.

  • @ToeInspector - Oh really? How is it so different? The government took over farms and then the farms failed. Please explain how this time it will be different. And I didn't even mention human rights, or the US or UK, what do they have to do with anything? This is about whether or not state run farms work, and in most cases they do not. Please answer my points rather than just spouting off some nonsense about something completely unconnected...unless of course, you have nothing of value to add...

  • @fourganger88 Oh I agree, I bet the only reason Venezuela's farming is in such bad shape in the first place is because of how unfriendly their government is to any industry. It said in the past they used to have enough food to export, what changed? When he said 'cooperatives' I cringed as that sounds a lot like ' collective farming' which ended up with mass famine and death when they tried it in China. I imagine the outcome of this experiment will be similar, but then again it might not.

  • @DHtrousers hahaha thats some great american propaganda, does it make you feel better to spread that bullshit? What a joke.

  • Chavez is my hero.

  • @HelmetBlissta he has Balls! more like him and the world is a better place

  • @HelmetBlissta chavez is a thug a left wing mussolini

  • @MrBillcale Not according to the majority of Venezuelans.

  • @HelmetBlissta oreally do you trust any news in a totalitarian state?

  • @MrBillcale I don't trust the mainstream news in my country. In a democracy like Venezuela there is free media. Watch "the revolution will not be televised" to see how the US backed right-wing media were involved in the coup and even after that the democratically elected Chavez government still allow these cowboys to spread their lies.

  • @HelmetBlissta so you prefer left wing coups?

  • @MrBillcale No, I prefer free and transparent democracy.

  • @HelmetBlissta please consult the democracy index, let me clarify brazil has a leftist regime yet brazil respects the democratic process and rule of law enough to rank number 47 in the democracy index venezuela is down in the hybrid regime category at number 96 i dont mind a Dilma Vana Rousseff she is elected fairly honestly Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías he is NOT elected without intimidation that is not the democratic process

  • @MrBillcale Sorry you live in a different world to me. Hugo Chavez has been elected and re-elected several times in what have been described as some of the most fairest and most transparent electoral processes anywhere.

  • @HelmetBlissta this is what frustrated me and you see it on both left and right people so blinded by ideology it is impossible do discuss things in logical or factual terms.. chavez is a uneducated thug that uses the militarty to intimidate opposition he is no better than a somoza

  • @MrBillcale Chavez is the democratically elected leader of Venezuela. You can spread whatever rubbish you like. I encourage anyone who is unsure to check for themselves. Don't take my word for it.

  • @HelmetBlissta The majority of anti-Chavez parties boycotted the election. The parties gaining more than two seats were (parties not listed gained a total of 10 seats, see Venezuelan parliamentary election, 2005):

criminals such as yourself should be in guantanamo hanging from a spike not spreading communist lies on the internet

  • @HelmetBlissta In 2008, the government expelled the US-based Human Rights Watch,[4] which was criticizing the government Human rights record...how much is hugo paying you you commmie scum bag? we are coming

  • @MrBillcale

haha it is always the u.s government supporters(i support my country as in the people but not the rich companies who control the politicians) that come off so evil and hysteric.i bet you actually get pissed off in person when reading that people actually love chavez. haha keep it up man ignorant people like you will be extinct eventually and the human race will keep growing.

  • @HelmetBlissta In 2009, when an opposition mayor was elected in Caracas, the capital, the government gave control of his budget to an appointed official.[ chavez is a dictator! your lies will cost you!

  • @MrBillcale I'm bored of this. Everyone can see for themselves who's lying here . Bye.

  • @HelmetBlissta ironically yes..your just some illiterate third world slug

  • @MrBillcale Your comment illustrates well a lack of coherent argument .

  • It will be good because the government requires good produce to feed its populace, which is its motive.

  • @fixdeluxe1 Did you watch the whole video? The last rancher was producing 4 times the national average of milk, and treated his workers well. Now his cows stand idle as his farm has been taken over by the army. How is that a good move?

  • @fourganger88 yeah but the money goes to the government and guess what they do with it

  • @fourganger88 He was a minority rancher. Most would have been the opposite, and, the Army took it over, not the Civilian government.

  • If the people want to take over farms, the greater good should prevail. My disagreement is that it should be done at the ballot box, not the presidents office. Chavez is using governmental powers and duties to fight his political wars.

  • @phantomcreamer oh shut up, if we cant do a simple task such as legalize marijuana or gay right in the US how do you think there going to do that in venezuela

  • @ThenameisDre America is a Fascist dictatorship,Venezuela is a Communist dictatorship, personaly I think both are wack job countries, but for an American to give anyone shit about human rights is laughable at best.

  • @ToeInspector ur mistaking the Gov for the ppl, 2 dif things

  • @lmola501 No,without the people their is no government. But if that bullshit makes you feel better about funding the murder and rape of millions,so be it.

  • @ToeInspector it makes me feel better that a dictatorship turned into a democracy, shit ppl died from it just like theyre dieing now in Libya and just how they died in the american revolution. if u still think freedom doesnt come with a price ur living a life in fantasy

  • @lmola501 If you think americans are free you are living on the moon,if you think America bombing Lybian people is helping the Lybian people you are fucking retarded.Go get some more television programing and leave the commenting for the sane people, thanks.

If you think murdering over five million Iraqi children with sanctions somehow makes Iraq "free" you are truly sick and I can only hope you find God or someone with a little sense in their head to help you out with your mental illness.

  • @ToeInspector that means a lot coming from someone whos sitting in a chair, who probly does nothing to help ppl yet he complains that other ppl do shit

  • @lmola501 So,in your mind murdering children is helping them? you are seriously fucked.Have a great life, and enjoy your facsism, your truly deserve it.

  • @ToeInspector imposing sanctions so they back off from kuwait and u call it murdering? So if u were president youd be like " here saddam heres your food, while ur at it go invade kuwait". your fucked up.

  • @lmola501 You do not have a clue about what you are talking about,go back to your regular government programming,it is obvious you do not care about the truth, only about what makes you feel better about being a death worshiping asshole.

  • @ToeInspector says the one who who neither put sanctions or go to war with iraq, just let them take over kuwait. knowing that ur probly french. go raise ur white flag stupidfuck

  • @lmola501 ur a douche.

  • @lmola501 grow up.

  • @ToeInspector How did this turn into an America bashing story? It seems like some people will take any story and turn it into a reason to be pissed off at America. I thought this was a story about Venezuelan farms.

  • @vokie98 read the thread idiot or fuck off.Stupid fucking self absorbed capitalist retards are going to get theirs,Babylon will fall.

  • @vokie98 I partially agree with you. Although in this instance the US backed a coup in Venezuela in 2002. Where Chavez was seized and the government overrun. Only with the mass uprising of over a million of the population was he released and able to resume his rightful position as leader in Venezuela. So there is likely to be some anti-US sentiment when Venezuela is mentioned.

  • @ToeInspector Dude, get a grip. Complain all you want, but dictatorship is a word that actually means something, and you are completely abusing it. Why not stick to factual complaints instead of made up bullshit?

  • @Z200a hahahahaha ok Mousad agent Z200a

  • @Z200a look up the meaning you idiot.i do not think you know the meaning of Fascist or Communist or Dictatorship.Because you are obviously retarded in the head,I will end this conversation here.

  • @ToeInspector

Agreed, but Chavez is ruining that economy.

  • @ToeInspector America is a fascist dictatorship? What the hell are you talking about? What do you know about the U.S.? Just 'cuz you're from Canada, you think you know us? Gimme a break!

  • @ToeInspector its very american to assume that i am american

  • @ToeInspector Venezuela is a democratic republic. Hugo Chavez was elected -_-.....

  • @Tougemaster06 NOT HES A THUG THAT bans dissent

  • @ThenameisDre That's because not enough americans really want to change marijuana or gay rights, sad but true. But just because Americans haven't met the bar you set, doesn't mean the Venezuelan government should impose military rule on any of its own citizens. They should be secure in their property and themselves. Don't tell me to shut up and then come up with ridiculous correlations. It's always the biggest dill holes who are always telling everyone else to shut up.

  • @phantomcreamer shut up donk, you honestly think anyone gives a shit what you think?

  • @ThenameisDre Yeah you, or else you wouldn't be trolling me like a little school girl with a crush. Donk? Seriously I know little school girls who could do better than donk.

  • @phantomcreamer nice so this is now a pissing contest, well donk, leme tell you something, maybe i am a little school girl, you ever think of that?

btw, just because you think that you can make a diffrence in the world does not make it true, there are way to many dumb people to make a diffrence, for every salman khan there are 10 million shit heads slowing earth progression

  • @ThenameisDre Yes and you are one of those "shit heads slowing earth progression," I'm trying to add to public discourse, while you spend your time trying to convince people to shut up. You've done nothing but tried to initiate a youtube fight, welcome to the 10 million shit head club.

  • Compare this to Mexico which is a total hell right now, as well as Honduras.

  • Socialism is a real tough pill to swallow. Capitolism has plots of land all over that is not being used often tied up in courts when the owner passes away. Some families clearly own the land but don't do anything to the land they just pay the taxes each year. But I have to say capitolists will sell the land when the taxes are too high to justify holding the land. Others share crop the land peak oil is going to change a lot of this there will not be the right kind of ferterlizer to do as now.
