Around the time of the 1998 Winter Olympic Games (Nagano, Japan), the alliterative slogan that Gordon Peterson regularly said at the beginning of the 11 p.m. newscast was "Nine minutes of non-stop news begins now!" He often said it quite flatly as if he dreaded being forced to utter it (as if it were a gimmick, which it was). That practice apparently was phased out by November 1998, the month of this broadcast.

I love this clip a lot and I sure would like to see more clips from WUSA-TV from 1997 as well as closings for Eyewitness News from 1998
