Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu are some of the greatest composers of the 20th century. Even if they only composed for video games. Uematsu's works were featured in a concert by the New York Philharmonic, for god's sake. One of the most prestigious orchestras in the world!

I think 1 should have been a tie. Yes, the Grunty battle is probably the most awesome Mario Paint song(with original soundfont), but don't forget Though the Fire and the Flames by Levus28. It uses the original soundfont, and it's pretty amazing. Still, I'm not surprised that Banjo Kazooie: Final Battle made 1st place.
