I am a ETSU fan, used to play with some of the guys on the team when I was in HS years ago. They have a great tradition for mid level program, but that was the right call.

Absolutely the right call, first the kid throws the elbow after the whistle which makes it a dead ball unsportsmanlike T which they may have let go but he starts jawwing at the guy who fouled the ref have no choice. Stupidest thing ever to do period. Just shutup go hit your free throws and win the game. This I have to be a man and confront him cause he fouled me crap is ridiculous. I am from Mike Smith's home town and would of loved it if ETSU had of won this one. But Swader blew it with the elbow, his mouth and his missed free throws.

I wouldn't have called it, but that's what happens when you think your big and say suttin stupid. It probably wasn't the elbow that was the problem, it was probably whatever he said after the whistle.

All of this could have been avoided if ETSU had simply passed the ball to Mike Smith (#1), who was wide open the entire time, after inbounding the ball - to the fast break shot attempt and subsequent miss. Play selfishly and then have the stupidity to run your mouth after swinging a purposeful elbow in an opposing players face after a whistle was blown in your favor, and you get what you get. Put the blame where it belongs-Swader for the elbow; anyone else for not passing to a wide open Smith!

Swader looks like he has downs syndrome and apparently he does. The game would have been over if he wouldn't have been a complete idiot and throw an obvious elbow right infront of a referee. What a tool I'm glad he will be gone after this year.

I dont its been the same way for 3 years each time they play belmont gets by whith major fouls while etsu,campbell,and mercer all get treated the same way tickey tack fouls get called on the lesser upper class schools and major fouls get missed on Belmont Kennesaw and Gardner Web

the buccaneers certainly got robbed. one of the worst calls in ncaa history. something is going on here that needs to be uncovered. i hope all the players from belmont tear their acl's and never get to play basketball again. if you go to belmont i feel sorry for you, because it is a lame school

He threw an elbow with his arm that wasn't even holding onto the ball. This was a pretty easy "T" to call. If he would have landed the elbow, the other guy would have been knocked out cold probably with a concusion. This was an obvious call and I could care less about Belmont or ETSU. Make your free throws and you are still up one...you can't blame this on the refs. Swader lost his cool and got T'ed up and deserved it.

Looks like a good call to me. The ref was going to let the elbow go, but then Swader goes over and starts jawing in Andy Wicke's ear, giving the ref no choice but to call him. Not a smart move...the ref made the reach-in call, so just let it go and keep your composure.

ETSU got robbed! To call this an atrocious call would be an understatement. The Atlantic Sun Conference website has tried to cover this up. In their video recap of this game they did not show this call. In their recap of the game they only mentioned a technical foul but did not mention how controversial it was. ETSU did miss their 1 and 1 free throw. The game should have ended with ETSU up by 1 and Belmont having rebounded the missed free throw with the opportunity to win the game.
