  • good Moon!

  • Thumbs up !

  • is it just me or is that boy cute cute cute!!!!

  • I wouldn't doubt Oliver Reed is drinking real alcohol and is tanked during these scenes.

  • Did anybody else ever wonder who the hell all these people are and why they're with Frank and the mother?

  • Listen to Keith Moons drumming.

  • How do we find true happiness?

  • i <3 Ann Margaret

  • CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

    You're doing it right.

  • Listening to this today. Like a boss. ;)

  • present

  • Buon Natale!! <3

  • There is nothing anti-Semitic about this clip; you obviously do not know the story. It's a great film about a boy who is mentally withdrawn but grows up to overcome many obstacles.

  • @Allannarocks

Exactly. I don't know where all of the crazy finger pointing comes into play here. I remember going to see it when it first came out in the 70s. Our HS English teacher decided to have us all meet at a great movie house one Friday night in DC for an unofficial field 'trip'. About 60 kids showed up in various states of reality and we watched it twice in a row.

  • Thank you for overdubbing this. It is such a great song!

  • Congratulations on your greatness for making this.

  • Nepatīk., ka bērnus izmanto :(

  • I never really liked Tommy to be honest its a bit dark and the songs seem to be thoughtless and just too long really, if they filtered out the crap it wouldn't be a double album...

  • @StonesFloydZepPurple Quadrophenia was much darker than Tommy.

  • @Iantorchwood94

no Tommy features child abuse/molestation,quadrophenia is just about some guys breakdown...

  • @StonesFloydZepPurple

Yet you like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple? You don't think those bands played really long tunes that contained a lot of crap?

Tommy was a rock opera. It could be acted out on a live stage as well as in that flick. Townsend was very talented though Daltry will always be thought of as Tommy.

  • @alwaysopen

I know but the movie and the album were made to look like shit by quadrophenia(which was a master piece),the plot of Tommy is harder to go along with....

  • @StonesFloydZepPurple

Stick to yer guns, you'll make a lot of friends.

  • @alwaysopen

    what do you mean?

  • Fuck you guys and your "thumbs up if you agree" comments.

    Thumbs up if you agree.

  • christmas was a lot like a kids birthday party back then

  • @stonerminmcjoe

    Still is.

  • Nice cheerful tune to play while sipping brandy by the fire. Only The Who could produce such patheos, just in time for the holidays.

  • Ann Margaret was so fine.

  • christmas is a pagan Holidayand in reality and fact,it has nothing to do with christ's birthday who BTW, was Jewish!

  • @MrFredGoldstein So bring a tree into your house and decorate it, then give presents and feast in the ancient pagan tradition :)

  • @neverfearchrisishere I will stick to lighting the Menorah during Hanukkah thank-you very much.Happy holidays!

  • @MrFredGoldstein For your consideration:

    /watch?v=ntNWQX1ChZI

  • @davidls11 You sick SOB, that video was vile and disgusting. You are an obvious racist and anti-Semite and have no place on -youtube- let alone on this planet.

    Shame for you!

  • @MrFredGoldstein I'm sorry you didn't care for the video. I found it to be clever, amusing and well produced. And for the record, I'm neither anti-Semitic nor racist.

  • This is cool. The original recording is so much better than the soundtrack.

  • That is a weird scene!

  • I think that if that happenned to a boy, a lot of families would have that kind of worries: "the boy can't pray, so he won't be saved". That would be the last thing on my mind if I was religious. I'm not so it wouldn't be on my mind at all. the sad thing is that I think this kind of worries are very realistic.

  • @bernytheman Back in 1976, I had a rough period after my father was killed, run over in a car accident. I briefly flipped out, and had delusions that I was Tommy. So many circumstances in Tommy's life mirrored my own, is why. I also believed I was Christ reincarnated. And Tommy's character is mimicking Christ, as he tries to spread enlightenment to the masses his way, only to be turned on at the end, much like Christ. The people decided not to follow anymore.

  • amazing who they work with the same tempo nand structure.

  • Wow who gave that kid acid? and why are they doing that to him? what kind of trip do they expect him to have?

  • my favorite carol

  • i wonder how many takes they did where ollie reed is drinking?

  • The dub worked really well, nice work man. Great song, great film and great band.

  • Oliver Reed. God I miss that dude. What a character he was.

  • I used to hate the music in this movie, but it grew on me. You can't compare it to the original album; it's a completely different beast. It's a Ken Russell opera that happens to be composed by Pete Townshend. And both of them are A LOT better than the Broadway version.

  • Best "the who " song

  • >>I didnt care for the music used in the film, so i overdubbed the original version of "christmas".<<

THANK YOU -- you performed a great public service. Hearing the great original cut with seeing the silly film video was a hoot, and one I could appreciate. There are 2 versions of Tommy: The Original and the London Symphony version. The film ruined every single thing and song.

  • @freedumb2003 a few were good like Pinball Wizard, Eyesight to the Blind, Were Not Gonna Take It, Cousin Kevin, and Fiddle About

  • @freedumb2003 oh my god. someone that actually has some common sense. There are a couple of songs from the movie, that became a guilty pleasure of mine. But not because they were GOOD!! Just because it was the who, and I was obsessed with them, and it was nice having the visuals to go along with the music. But Jack Nicholson singing Go To The Mirror??? That was enough to make ME go deaf, dumb, and blind!

  • That's right Tommy! Screw Jebus :-D

  • @honour123 I believe in love but how can men who've never seen light be enlightened.

  • really? You didn't like the music in the film? I thought everyone did a great job with it! I even prefer some of the movie versions over the actual versions by The Who.

  • TOMMY can you hear me?

  • Wow. If you think about the lyrics of this song, they're absolutely profound. How would a poor, disabled person be able to "be saved" by the tyrant god that gave him his condition. That's really sad!

  • @mikedonn71 There are some that believe that people who are disabled in such a way that they would never be able to learn about God and Jesus being crucified to save mankind, and never be able to make the decision to be saved, will be spared by God because how could they help it? And I happen to be one of the people who believes that. It's just like if a baby dies, why would God damn the baby because it's too young to be saved?

  • OMG I'm jealous Ann- Margaret had act with Elvis Presley And Oliver Reed !!

    Pff two very Talented mens!

  • i can never take my hat off enough....for the excellence of the who

  • My step dad gave me this album on vinyl...SOFA KING AWESOME!!! What a kick ass guy, maybe I'll call him "pops" from now on.

  • the kid looks like Jack Hotchner...

  • Happy birthday Ann-Margret! Grattis Ann-Margret, du gör mig stolt över att vara Svensk!

  • 1:05

  • one of the GREAT movie moments to date.

    Incredible direction.

What a whopper of a movie!

Townshend's work of genius meets another... Ken Russell, at his best.

  • 0:54 - 0:57 i love that drum part!

  • watched this movie on shrooms, and now i have an irrational fear of santa claus :(

  • @kfc21194 - yeah, back in the day, we would watch this movie under the influence as a test of 'psychic strength'.

Once, a girl bugged out hard while watching the acid queen, much to our amusement.

Ah yes! The good old days!

  • PROXIMO!!!!!! Oliver Reed Very Good Actor LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • Class Class Class, The Who have none except their raw talent and this song is nothing but CLASS. Bad arse song!

  • My god... I love this album but before watching the film I preffer to be blind, deaf and dumb.

  • i like to compair tommys early life to pinks from the album the wall from pinkfloyd

  • Con razon me sonaba los Who para navidad xDD cancionzon!

  • @House150190

Es Verdad! NOCHE DE PAZ... de Terrorrrrrrr!

  • Creepy girl from 0:50 - 0:56!

  • Is it wrong that I think this is unironically an awesome song to play for Christmas?

    I sure hope not.

  • @SpartanJose777 NOBODY knows what day it is.

  • Did you ever see the faces of the children naked.

    so excited

    O_O

  • @deniskoKEKEKE .........It's "THEY GET" so excited not NAKED, what's wrong with you?

  • @deniskoKEKEKE siko

  • I like this song but I wanted to hear the version from the movie...where the actors are doing the singing.

  • @kisssmeehere i agree i really like the part when they all lean in and out towards tommy with horns

  • hable hable hable... fantastic song, but scary background singers 0_0

  • Well i was searching "Christmas Who", an episode of Spongebob, but this works too!

  • watch?v=ai-7Jd7HVak

  • heal me.

  • 2:08

    Tommy heard/felt!

  • The whole film should be dubbed with the original album! It would definitely sound better, and it would make me want to see it more often.

  • I think the the music in the film is just fine...I don't think it works having the original version overdubbed with Ken Russell's magnificent film's visuals. Having said that both the original album and the movie are masterpieces...but must be enjoyed separately.

  • I hare the part were his cousin tortures him. its sad :(

  • je ne me lasse pas §§§!!!!

  • fantastic movie and song. this is a very touching moment in the film

  • damn, this is sad

  • i love tommy...ann margret is great in this..

  • If I was that kid I'd kill all those mother fuckers and say "yes I can hear you so shut the fuck up!"

  • @VanillaSky32 Have you ever heard "pinball wizard"? of course you have... but the line "that deaf, dumb, and blind kid" should make it abundantly clear that he can't hear them

  • Wow that douche bag is screaming in the kids ear, no wonder the kid hates him.

  • I dunno who sings it in the movie, she has a lovely voice, but I like the who better, for this song especially.

  • ...such an amazing song and sad movie

  • the choir in the background is a thing there!

    never seen this movie..

  • Toomy´s dad looks at 1:07 like captain Kirk from the U.S.S.Enterprise!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I like the overdub. Probably because I prefer the original versions of most of the songs! Thank you for posting this.

  • yeah that's the disappointing thing about the film - the music's not as cool. expecially pinball wizard, watching the Who miming to Elton John's session band's backing track is just painful!

  • I don't normally say expecially... but i've started making that typo of late. in my defence S is next to X!

  • For me, Paul Nicholas and Tina Turner singing their versions of Cousin Kevin and Acid Queen were better than all the chorus in the CD...

But Pinball Wizard got so WEIRD. I think that was the intention... The pinball crown was so bizarre.

  • Tommy's Dad looks like Javier Bardem!!

  • Thanks for re-doing the sound...so much better!

  • Ann-Margaret is sooooooooo sexy.

  • you just cant imagine what it would be like 2 be deaf dumb and blind lol

  • Ask Katie Price, she'd probably advise you it's all in the birth.

  • You must to be deaf to dislike this song

  • more like deaf, dumb and blind. :P

  • Ann Margaret couldn't sing to save her life, but damn she was hot...

  • Pete Townshend did have some very original and interesting musical ideas.

For example the hubble hubble hubble backing vocals in this song. Very similar in some ways rhythmically to the synth in Baba O'Reilly.

  • i wish christmas parties were still like this...

  • yeah a deaf dumb and blind kid really livens up the party

  • you know what i mean.

  • the who again great lyrics. how can he be saved.

  • In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost

  • I wonder why they cast a little boy with brown eyes when Roger Daltrey (the adult Tommy) has blue eyes?

  • I don't think anyone noticed

  • Well it's not like they needed to kid that had a lot of acting skills. They should have picked a kid that at least looked something like Roger. Macaulay Culkin would have been a better choice, had he been born yet. ; )

  • I always wondered the same thing. They even have a scene where they do a close up on the little boy's face and then it turns into Roger Daltrey's face. The change in eye color is so obvious!

  • I want to F%$k Ann Margrett

  • Who doesn't?

  • @johnahabig

She is old now. Watch one of her old movies and fap. She looks real good in one of the Elvis movies.

  • This is one of my favorite songs from the album

  • He doesn't know who Jesus was or what praying is

  • Lmao, honestly, I don't need to back myself up anymore then I already have. True talent comes from within. not from record sales, or hits. Oh yeah, and Fuck AC/DC

  • This song is one of my faves, I dont know why but it always struck home

  • Dude, you need to do the whole movie. I'd love to see Sally Simpson.

  • LMAO WTF the song playing is the actual song by the who xD

  • Are you serious? The song in the movie is a crappy cover of this song, and Coldplay?! Seriously? Coldplay? Try The Who, one of the most legendary bands of all time.

  • what a jackass

  • This is the version by the Who you dumb fuck. Before they made the movie. You know the guys who wrote the songs and the whole rock opera?

  • singingduckgopher is a dumb ass

    he made me laugh tho

    haha

  • HA, wrong much?

  • I love this song, thx

  • See me... Feel me... Touch me... Heal me.

    ARGH I love this song.

  • I would drink her bathwater....

  • Ann Margret gave me a hard-on when I first watched this in the '70s.

  • @whonut

You liked the "REX beans" commercial and watching her roll around on the floor in gallons of beans, right? I think all of us teenage boys got pretty excited about that scene way back then.

I couldn't believe all of those beans were coming through the TV screen.

  • @alwaysopen I liked all her scenes!

  • why didnt you use the video sound because i like the actresses voice

  • fuckin love love em!!!

  • i prefered the movie version of the song. but great to see tommy vids being uploaded

  • "Speak To me, Tommy! Tell me you can't hear me!" no wait, he's dumb and blind, too!

  • where can i download this? i cant find it on limewire:(

  • the whole album is on itunes...

  • way to go Captain Obvious...lol jk man

  • Not many things make my cry/tear.

And this song never failed doing so.

  • and i don't know what day it is

  • Good job on the over-dub.

I love Oli Reed, but his singing was not the best (in this movie, anyway). Although his renditions on talk shows were legendary

  • fantastic! i remember when i got spiked and whist in hospital i was just saying tommy can you hear me? over and over again lol

  • how can you like ACDC over the most taleted band The Who

  • Diffent Taste Man AC Dc Is Like The Best Hard Rocking Band Ever They Have Sold Over 200,000 Millon Albums World Wide It IS Just My Taste I Have Seen AC DC Before I Like The Who Though.

  • I Will Fuck You Up Pune Cake Shut The Fuck Up Faggot. Pussy

  • Don't call my friend dumb the best band are AC/DC and the beatles the beatles sold over billons of albums and AC/DC sold more then Metallica Metallica sold 1 miion AC/DC 200 millon so suck it

  • I love both AC/DC and The Beatles, but how good they are is not determined by how many albums they sell. By that logic 50 cent is better than Led Zeppelin.

  • Rap Sucks Led Zeppelin domanaits 50 cent and AC/DC sold a lot of albums but also beat the Beatles in catloging and also beat them in the top 100 best guitar players.

  • That's good, and I agree that all those bands are awesome. I'm just saying that they aren't good soley because they are popular.

  • Beatles are just unmatched in album selling don't listen

mattwillette because the best cunt he will ever get is his own he gose on Fishhand360's channle and says AC/DC suck and Fishhand360 hates that he needs to stay off

  • Selling records means nothing. True talent comes from the heart and soul. Not from a check, or a plaque with some numbers on it.

  • You again fuck off AC/DC rules they have tallent pussy

  • @acdcrules3602403609

The Beatles have not sold "billions of albums". 1B = 1000 million. There aren't 500M people in the USA and most of those billions would have been sold here.
