I got my iPhone fixed for free last month... apple states they do not cover physical damage under the warranty but within my one year warranty I went an got it done for free with 69 days left on warranty ... Total cost was around $120 CAD but was done for FREE!!

My first iPhone 4 had gotten water damage throw the 32 pin connect at the bottom and i couldn't use the bottom mic at all. i had tried to fix it my self and lost a screw in the process so my warranty was beyond void. when i went to the apple store, i was 5 minutes late to my appointment and they removed me off the list. they told me i had water damage, and said i would have to stay on stand by and pay $200. i waited 2 hours, and the "genies" got of work. the new girl didnt charge me the 200=]

i had a iPod Touch 2G 8GB

the screen had a few cracks on the outside screen and the back was VERY scratched up, i just didnt charge it made a genious appointment then took it to apple and said it turns off sometimes by itself and i did multiple restores and no luck.

he checked for water damage (no water damage) then said it was a 1 off (becuz of the screen) and gave me a BRAND NEW ONE!

apple does give free replacements if you bought your ipod in an apple store and if your ipod is bought within 1 year, (some models 2 years.) its all on the apple website...

same thing happened to me my i Pod touch got damaged and the multi touch function didnt work(couldnt unlock the ipod) so I got it replaced for free in like 15mins when I got to the apple store 2months ago

You do know that replacing the screen is an easy job - thats all apple will of done. there's tons of vids on youtube showing how to replace the screen

You guys do know that Apple doesn't give you brand new phones as a replacement. They give you a refurbished unit with a new shell. They keep the processor and take out unfuctional parts. Hope this clears up any confusion.

Im pretty sure a lot of them are near perfect or perfect refubs, but I'm sure there are NEW ones still given out in various places.

not with the 3GS. They give you a new one because they have very few refurbs since theyre newer.
