  • Im back with a much better understanding of gold refining and what goes into it with bricks of gold now under my belt. I now want to learn how to get the gold BACK onto things lol. I need to gold plate a cathode that goes into an electrolytic cell that deplates gold from items. weird i know... so i see this guy is making auric chloride using aqua regia which is easy enough to do. i guess he then uses the solution to plate stuff? so my question is... where are the rest of these vidoes?

  • thanks bro, thanks youtube & very much thanks to vinniecorbit

  • What is left in the purple liquid after you eliminate the acid?

  • Great information-- I think I understand now what the solution is. I have a small amount left of gold plating solution which I was trying to plate onto a copper spoon. I hadn't used the electro-plating pen for some time and the gold didn't seem to be forming on it. I think the charge might be out of it and there's no way to change battery. I tried electrifying the spoon while plating. I put it aside, hope to reclaim the dried solution and try again.

  • I looked everywhere and couldnt find how to make HCL. I am starting to get into gold leaching and purifying and I just need a simple way of making HCL to wash the gold after it is leached. I hear things like table salt and viniger can make a very diluted HCL. Can anyone help me with this?

  • buy sulfuric acid from a car store

  • Hello

You don't need to make it. It is called muriatic acid and you can buy it even at Wal-mart or any hardware store in the paint department.. I think swimming pool companies also sell it.

  • Where can you obtain nitric acid?

  • @joesubaruson and you will notice tiny gold flakes settling add the soda a little at a time to prevent boiling over. pour off the liquid then the brown sludge remaining is gold. Wash and dry the sludge, melt it in a crucible with borax and you will have a .999 fine gold button. Save the filter if you want to recover the silver. The acid must be made neutral to assure all gold is removed. When mixing acids you pour the nitric acid into the muratic acid, do so slowly.

  • table salt and sulfuric acid make hydrogen chloride bubbles which have to be bubble through water to make the acid

  • Electroplater 27 yrs.Once you have your aqua regia,decant.filter.cool.evaporate to a sludge and water down three times.this destroys the nitric.last use dist water.use sodium metabisulphide or zinc chips to kill any remaining HCL.evaporate and melt sludge in a crucible to reveal gold

  • Are these three the only ingredients needed for gold plating solution is this gold plating solution for bath/tank plating what are the amounts for pen /brush plating. What are the ingredients for rhodium plating solution

  • how can i download this clip?

  • 2 parts Muriadic acid and 1 part Nitric acid

  • What solution were mixed? Couldn't hear clearly
