The absolutely insane thing about this serial is that the Linda Sterling character is supposed to be the heroine, yet in an early scene -- as shown here -- she has a stranger gruesomely executed in a fiery lava pit because -- wait for it! -- he dared to venture onto her land. He didn't kill anybody; he didn't steal anything; he was simply... caught trespassing! (Later we're actually supposed to care that the Tiger Woman may face the same death herself. Talk about the amorality of childhood!)
You know, folks, she is supposed to be wearing a JAGUAR skin! And while the jaguar in "Bringing Up Baby" IS referred to as a "South American leopard," the way this great cat is usually referenced informally in Latin America itself is as "el TIGRE!"
It was a forced name change after when it was discovered Ms Stirling's 'Tiger Woman' outfit was made out of leopard skins, not a single Tiger stripe in sight anywhere, but plenty of Leopard spots! It was to be said it was the biggest boo-boo in all of the Movie Serials.
incidentally does anyone know if that is CATHERINE MCLEOD as the native dancer...or is it BABE DEFREEST , LINDA STIRLINGS stunt double...she does resemble BABE in height in the faraway shots anyhow....
i don't think the serial went down hill...it is actually pretty entertaining and contains lots of cool cliffhangers...i have been a fan of this film for a long time ..even have the super 8 film footage as well...JUNGLE GOLD, TIGER WOMAN AND PERILS OF THE DARKEST JUNGLE all titles it goes by

Hey, a little bit of violence and cruelty goes a long way when you're a kid.

That's the trouble with the death penalty today -- there's no dancer.

My first crush when I was age 10. I didn't

skin. Who cares !
