You will allllways have more control using manual. There is no way for the camera to know what depth of field you want, unless you set the auto to your specifications. At that point, you might as well just be using manual. Just retarded. This kills me
Any brand of camera will take excellent pictures it just takes a master photographer to achieve the results . I also seen the comment from a photographer blaming this new technology and rookies for hurting the photography business . If a new fancy camera and some unskilled amateurs run you out of business you shouldn't call yourself a professional photographer . I would suggest going back to school in a new career field like nursing or something that is not photography related ..
@2muchfast4u Yo! My sister (non-photographer or camera users), called me on the phone, text me, and hit me up on face-book over this commercial. She we cracking up! I am a photographer saving up for the next big thing (canon 5d mark 2, Canon 70-200mm $1799, or the canon 7d)... On my site pictureme2 I try to take good pictures with the Canon Rebel xt. This is a funny commercial!
Every dumbass with a camera is a photographer. Now not only are the hacks killing the business of photography, the makers are now encouraging it...and promoting it! THIS is the reason why no pros use lumix!
@wampass Nikon does the same thing. Just look at all those stupid Ashton ads. No difference. No, professionals don't use Lumix cameras because Lumix cameras don't generate professional results, no matter how dumbed down their ads are.
i agree with allgodsaredead, im sick and tired of stumbling ads. Stumble should be about finding quirky and different stuff on the net, during which time you will invariably be battered with advertising anyway. Thumbs down panasonic. Thumbs down.
Using StumbleUpon to promote business interests discourages people from using it.
Feel free to give the video a thumbs-up within YouTube but to keep StumbleUpon fun please don't give a thumbs-up in StumbleUpon to any commercial Stumbles.
@allgodsaredead It's not about the ad. It's about how pathetic the ad is. Anyone who knows anything about photography knows you can't simply set a fancy camera to "auto" and make it do your work for you. Good photography takes effort.
LubbyLibby, for the record, none of those values are correct. An aperture of 2.4 would make the background VERY blurred, a shutter speed of 1/16 would not capture water like that and for the diminishing light, the shutter needs to be open for an extensive period, not the aperture.
anyway this is besides the point, this ad is awesome.
its just a funny ad people, relax!

With very basic training you can use a very primitive camera to take great pictures. This ad is anti-intellectual.

And Panasonic just lie to all people so they think will be Ansel Adans or Cartier Bressons just by buying this fancy camera.
The true is that you NEED to be a good photographer to take decent pictures, with any kind of câmera.

They make it sound like 'aperture' and 'shutter speed' are big words that are difficult to understand.
They're not.

One of THE best ads on TV at the moment!
"what F-stop did you have the aperture set to?" - "Umm.. pretty big"
"How did you compensate for the diminished light?" - "Very well.. thank you"

As an amateur photographer, I get it too.. but it's not really that funny. I see what they were trying to do, but not quite getting the cigar.
