Meh, South Africa was more of a sports acro routine than a dance. Miriam and Leonardo sizzled, although to be honest their first performance on this show was better than the finale, in terms of choreography. They still deserved to win anywho.

I know it's all lifts, but OMG Victor Da Silva (from SA) while I think Argentina was the best, Victor was like the stud of the universe. Talk about pure strength and control on the lifts.

I have never appreciated the Jitterbugg as a fantastic style-maybe its the era-I dunno, baaaad choice Aus There was beauty sophistication and elegance that SA brought (love that they used an American song too!) but what dance WAS that..(the hustle??) The Argentine TANGO was PHENOM

i really think australia should have gotten second place because of all the effort they put into they're dance. south africa's "dance" was nothing but lifts and tricks. didn't they get rid of china's duet for the same thing?

All S.A did was lifts...any man who goes to the gym could do that...Argentine...yawn! Australia was fun, comical, fast...and hot! their routines always have a higher degree of difficulty...even the group ones over the US...they stick to more simple stuff which makes it look less messy but obviously not as technical or as hard.

That Australia came in behind SA is a joke. In fact, that SA even made it past round one surprised me. They may have won first place in Circus Superstars, because they rule with acrobatics. But Australia presented varied, skilled, artistic dancing. Did you hear the audience when they danced? SA presented a glamorized strip show. Can't the dude afford a shirt???

Giselle and Henry were absolutely robbed.Argentine's couple were very good,but the routines were repetitive and recurring,kinda rigid ground hog type and that is only to be expected from such specialised discipline as Argentinian Tango. That is not to meant to take away anything from Argentinian dancers awesome skill,musicality and unison.

Giselle's and Henry's routines ,were volcanic slamdunks in comparison and were just as skillfuly and precisely executed. SA duet? Simply didn't belong there.

Well, what you call recurring and rigid I might call connected and intense. As an Argentine tango dancer myself, I'm probably biased in their favor, anyhow.

But, the competition judges seem to be the only people in the universe who thought Australia was better than SA. I'm not a conspiracist, but this is the closest I've ever come to believing a show was rigged, as this result is otherwise inconceivable to me.

I think you've got the countries mixed up,to quote you: "the competition judges seem to be the only people in the universe who thought Australia was better than SA."Competition judges gave SA better marks than to the Aussies.Otherwise your latter post contradicts your former.ArgTango was terrific,sorry about using incorrect terminology - I am not a Tango buff.I still think that Aussie duet deserved gold,but I am an Aussie myself ,so I am probably biased in their favor :-)

Hi, daw0tcher. Yes, my mistake. Australia could have won gold or silver. Their dancing was superb. SA should have lost in the first round, IMO. Thanks for clearing up my mistypes. :)

I agree with you a bit. I think South Africa shouldn't have made it past semi. IMO, I thought SA should have gotten 3rd. Aus and Arg should have tied for first.

Agreed. Well, I thought SA were good enough to make it to Semis but not past Semis. They did pretty much the same thing as the U.S. Sooo, if they U.S. got eliminated for doing just lifts, SA should have been eliminated as well.

I'm shocked that the Australian team did not do better than South Africa. I thought they were better than Argentina as well! They brought everything out for this last time and blew me away. This was a rip off. What S. Africa did is not "dance".
