  • These were all extraordinary people

  • The lesson that you can Not conquer nature the same was as you build an empire, seem to have been extreemly difficult for the victorians to learn. Scott went to the south pole with exatly the same mentality as these 129 guys , and he died too. They must have been ( or wanted to be), to far remooved from nature to get it .

  • This story tells us to have patience, wait for icebreakers.

  • Amundsen was a remarkable figure, i'm sure he must have been a captivating personality with his passion and extreme dedication to a dream. (and i guess as a swedish man was tall and fair ,must have been a heartbreaker;-)
