Though it was over 40 years ago, the plans and ideas of both President John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy still are important today. Racism is still alive, Violence is still alive, the same violence that took these men from us. It's a great loss, and a great tragedy, but we must keep thier words alive and remember them. There will never be another Bobby of another Jack, but they will live on in our thoughts and memories.

My hero. What I love about RFK is that he grew and matured over his public life. From a rich kid who worked for Joe McCarthy to a man who championed the poor, hungry and under privlged. Not because he felt sorry for them or pityed them but because he empahtized with them. Putting himself in their shoes and realing feeling thier pain and hopelessness. He once said "I don't have to do this. I could sit by my pool and be with my family. But, what kind of person would that make me." What a loss.

I reacted more to Robert Kennedy's death than my own father. My friend Joanne and I would race over to the campaign headquarters on 38th and Madison to volunteer after night after work and then, we would work all day on Saturdays and Sunday. We felt we could make a difference. I have never felt that way again about a candidate. Rest in Peace, Senator Bobby.
