he used the 3d stroke, thats not hard... there you have 3dstroke search for it, its sooo easy. and even if he "says" that he didnt use it, you can have the same result with 3dstroke that im pretty 100% sure that he used it.

pfff i'm not sure... i think he uses a plugin from trapcode, you can make something like thin fabric, and with good coloring to get something like fire... i'm not sure

see the trapcode plugins maybe you can find out how, i would love to hear from you back...

er... ok here's my guess then. He uses particular and animates a light for the particles to follow, then he makes a red background that accepts the light, then he applies a glow over the particles, then he pre-comps the particular layer, then he makes a new solid with fractal noise and colorama, then he sets this new layer's track matte to alpha of the particular layer. then he sets all the blend modes to something additive. That should cover most of it.
