I downloaded Sculptris Alpha 5 and when I go into paint mode, the object just stays white. I can't apply any color to it. One of the previous comments suggested it might be a problem with my graphics card. I have Intel(R) Media Accelerator Driver. Does anyone know what the actual system requirements are for running paint mode in sculptris.

1) try it on another machine to check if the files you have are not damaged or anything.

2) try running it in windowed mode.. ie not full screen(the smaller the window the easier it is on your graphic card

3) see if you have the latest graphics drivers, if not, get em

4) Intel graphics generally are useless when it comes to hi-performance stuff :(

I have the Sculptris Alpha 5, but i have one problem: in paint mode does not appear the material (the material applied lost) and i can't work with shaders. My video card do not support shaders?

try running i on another machine to see if it runs there. also try updating your graphics drivers

@Guilherme2239 i've seen this "white object" issue on one machine before.. it turned out to be an issue with the GPU drivers being outdated.. so i just went to the relevant site(nvidia in that case) and got the update.. it fixed the problem..

if you've tried that and the problem persists, then i'm afraid your gpu is not supported

How are you able to even apply the color? Whenever I enter paint mode and select my colors it never does anything. The model just stays pure white and nothing on it changes. Is there an option I need to activate?

@Tyrannus333 hmm.. not sure what you might be doing wrong..

heres the basic workflow-

1) click "paint" to enter paint mode

2) change colour, using color wheel..

3) use paint tool to paint with colors...

this may be the issue: a teeny tiny brush might be enabled.. so deselect brush and texture maps (un-tick the lil "enable" dot under them).. this should let you do basic painting..

@c2ktheotherartist That's the problem, I have both of the brush and texture maps deselected, chosen color from the color wheel and everything. I didn't know if you might have had the same issue or if it was something gone awry with my computer. That wouldn't be surprising honestly.

either its damaged.. so just redownload and run it..

or

actually loadup a basic brush image and see what happens..

might also be an issue with your graphics card..

truely weird though.. have used it on multiple machines before with no such issue!

@c2ktheotherartist I'll try redownloading, if that doesnt work I'll try the brush idea. I wouldnt be surprised if it were an graphic card issue, I don't have a very good one in this machine. Thank you for the help though! Much appreciated!

I have trouble with it because there's no sampler that I've been ale to find. I can't correct a mistake.

@c2ktheotherartist I use a certain shade, then start using another colour, and I can't go back to the previous shade. Or is there a colour picker I'm just not finding?

@greengrendel yup i never found any color picker tool either.. hmm..

anyway now that zbrush owns sculptris.. either they'l add that tool to it ,or discontinue the whole app itself.. we'll just have to wait and see.
