White forefathers would start trouble amongst warring tribes, then tell one tribe to enslave the other or else they would help the other side. And the Atlantic Slave trade is the most brutal trading of slaves documented in history. No other group has been stripped of their identity, culture, language or religion. Evidence from other cultures shows it existed there too. It also existed in Africa before the arrival of the Europeans (see Amnistad trial which shows it was part of the culture).

You are missing something VERY important. There are about seven times as many whites than blacks in this country. Blacks are about 13% of the population yet account for 38% of the welfare recipients. If you can't grasp this then you will never understand.

It doesn't matter how much of a percent difference there is between the two, because since there's so few black people of course any numerical difference is going to be significant. What matters is the number of people on welfare, because the MORE PEOPLE ON WELFARE PER PERSON, THE MORE MONEY THEY'RE POTENTIALLY TAKING PER PERSON. Sure there's a higher percentage of black people, but there's still less black people on welfare than whites.

Black people have always been more poor than whites due to racism. Therefore, there will be a higher percent of poor blacks. White forefathers would start trouble amongst warring tribes, then tell one tribe to enslave the other or else they would help the other side. This forced the two tribes to weaken, meaning that the white slavetraders could come in by force and enslave the other tribe they helped, believing they wouldn't be strong enough to fend them off with the weapons they gave to the Africans.

And the Atlantic Slave trade is the most brutal trading of slaves documented in history. No other group has been stripped of their identity, culture, language or religion. @LionessReloaded2 Your scholars are clearly wrong. Slavery was well established in Roman times (2,000 years before you claim), it is also mentioned in the Bible (which I accept is largely fiction). Evidence from other cultures shows it existed there too. It also existed in Africa before the arrival of the Europeans (see Amnistad trial which shows it was part of the culture).
I agree that the enslavement of the black people is the ugliest moment in the history of the USA.

It doesn't matter how much of a percent difference there is between the two, because since there's so few black people of course any numerical difference is going to be significant. Black people have always been more poor than whites due to racism. Therefore, there will be a higher percent of poor blacks. For example, I am much lighter in the winter than I am in the summer, as is my brother. If kept in a constantly cold climate, the skin will lighten, and it happens within months. @Solowizard : Africans selling other africans is not a rebuttle. It's simply a FACT which is all too often omitted when the subject of african/ American slavery arises. For the record, I've been to africa twice (once in 83 & again in 84), & I can assure you that you would NOT want to be living there. Don't believe it? Get yourself a one way plane ticket to Somalia, ...or better yet "the heart of the congo". You'll be believing real fast as they carve you up, to eat you up, & poop you out.

#1 Whether Africans sold other Africans to whites into slavery is really a moot point. The issue is that whites continued to sell other humans and treat them as chattel once they were in America for centuries. THAT'S THE ISSUE! Whatever happened in Africa doesn't concern me, because I am not African. I am American.

@Solowizard : If it weren't for those africans you so chose to ignore (or virtually dismiss their role in the slave trade), slavery in America wouldn't have been possible. Your claim that this is "a moot point" is laughable at best. Those africans were "INSTRUMENTAL" in the slave trade (not moot).
