Because Michael bay didn't want Optimus Prime to have 51 pieces, he wanted him to have 10,000, thus making him much more complicated and appealing to the audiences.

That just makes them less appealing and overcomplicated. So much so that they can't even really transform practically. This video proves you can do a simple form, much like the human body, and animate it with great success. You can't even tell what the hell Michael Bay's versions are doing unless you slow them down, and even then it's still messy. The story, the acting, and the music didn't help either.

Well, I liked the complicatedness of transformers. Obviously it could be made easier, but thats not what Bay wanted. He wanted a more detailed approach, not the old 2 piece transformer where it breaks in to pieces to form the upper torso and bottom.

I wouldn't want that either, but he could have used modern day versions with realistic animation and design. His transformers can't even transform that way in real life. They mask that in the animation with the camera angles and further proof lies in the toys, which what the origin of the franchise to begin with. That's only one element of Bay rejecting the source material instead of adapting and or respecting it. He took the wheel and made it an uneven pentagon.
