I own an 04 Maxima, and I can say that maxima won because the driver of the evo screwed up the launch. When you bog an awd launch in a 1/4 mile run you can say goodbye to about 2 sec. The maxima would have lost if the guy in the evo hit a 5k rpm launch.

The MRs are 6 Spd and although they are faster yes. The 5 Spd Evo is quicker in the 1/4 mile, any Evo owner will tell you that. Also the Evo obviously bogged or the driver just can't launch his car. No way a RWD would launch on an AWD like that without that being the reason. Congrats to the Maxima but line up 2 good drivers in those 2 cars and the Evo will win 10/10 times. I rest my case.
