just get dolphin browser its free and when you click on a youtube video from the web it ask you if you want to download it..its fast and easy!

There is an other option to save videos.

Get "dolpin browser" and "youtube spotlight" from the market.

With these apps, before you start to watch a vid, the device  answers, do you want to watch, or you want to download it. It works only from under dolphin browser. But it saves directly to the SD.Try it!

damnnnnnn, i didnt know the G1 supported the Keepvid feature...jsut outa curiosity, how much memory does it take to record a regular 3mns video from Utube ?? and how long does it take to download it onto ur G1's memory ??

Thanks, that worked great. Only thing I don't like is that on the video player, Im not able to rename it. So instead of it sayings for example, "Chris Crocker on Crack." it just says, "videoplayback". Which is really annoying. Do you know how i can rename it??

The best method I've found it renaming them later via your PC. I even tried the Andrid File Manager app (now called Linda File Manager) it renames, but wont play the vid foo some reason. ;-(

In the case you haven't read the title, the description, or even watched the video... it's a tip showing how to Save YouTube Videos to a G1 without a computer. Sometimes people use YouTube to listen to music or maybe on a plane and cant necessarily stream videos, so offline playback is suitable.

i use MX tube on my iphone and save it with ease just tap and save..i dont have to go to all that trouble plus iphone has your tube great on wifi but alright on the network it makes it bit blocky but its all good..im thinking of getting a G1 im on iphone t-mobile right now..
