I love this movie! The only instance I can think of when the film version of one of Hemingway's works was better than the book! But why does Lauren Bacall call Bogie's character "Steve" when Walter Brennan calls him "Harry"? Inquiring minds want to know. In any case, Lauren was one hot dish in her day! Hubba hubba to the max, daddy-o! And she's only 19 here! No wonder Bogie (25 years her senior) fell in love with her. Who wouldnt? THANKS for posting this delightful clip for us to enjoy!
Fantastic movie. I always guessed she called him "Steve" as in short for stevedore -- someone who loads and unloads cargo from a ship, or just a dock worker in general.
"How's your patient? Or haven't you looked lately?"
Haha! Zingg!
Gotta love Bogie's grin at :23!
