  • Guys, if you haven't yet, you can check my tutorial for Color Correction. Its in the video responses by Karlobster. Its just 3 minutes long, though not in depth as this, it gets the job done.

  • Videos like this makes me turn more and more off from photoshop editing. You drag, on, and on, and on. Boring!

  • very useful stuff.. been eyeballing it to cc, so it's good to know there's a more technical/precise way. where can i get a copy of that skin tone values chart? thanks!

  • xD

  • get to the fucking point mate

  • I've been basically using this guide to color correct images since first viewing this tut.

My only question is, when I'm correcting african skin, often while I'm in RGB mode, but reading color in CMYK in the info palette, I find that it's difficult to change K, Black, without affecting CMY, and thus throwing everything off again?

  • Watch my short and simple version /watch?v=AN_JUrQ1sbI

  • I learn a lot from this tutorial and I use this methods of correction every time. Thank you Nathaniel (tutvid) :)

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • My left ear enjoyed this video.

  • somewhat depth? this video's 26 mins

  • Picky picky :P

  • how can i download that PSD file for CMYK values?

  • @ashkibala1 go to his FIRST provided link, leads you to this video on his site, then look for the Resources tab, follow that, look down the list for Photoshop CS3: Color Correcting With Curve Layers, gives you .gif and a .pdf

  • @phantomht1320 found it thanks a loooooot :)

  • aaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh my left ear :(((((

  • tl;dw

  • This video freaked me out, I thought one of my 50 dollar speakers blew out...

  • is this the one that shows the channel???

  • Your not allowed to touch the mouse while talking anymore.

  • very clear, excellent tutorial

  • hey tutvid, this is great and very imformative. You have one annoying habit that drives me crazy tho, "talking" with the mouse pointer. It's flying all over the screen round in circles makes me quite dizzy.

  • did this take a week too upload????

  • Manual looks too green. I quiet like Auto of yours.

  • thanks

  • So, hispanic and oriental skins are supposed to have similar values?

  • The method described from 11:00 to 13:30 does find areas of neutral grey within the image, but it has no way of knowing whether or not those areas should be neutral grey. In fact, if the image does have a colour shift, the areas most accurately identified should not be neutral grey, and to use the mid grey tool on them will introduce a colour shift in the other direction.

  • The problem with the description of using the white point is that white point does not refer simply to a white object in the image. It refers to the minimum allowable percentage of neutral colour anywhere in the image. Proper use of the white point tool actually ensures that there will be always be a minimum dot (in printing) or percentage of colour. Nothing (other than a flash) should ever be “pure white.”

  • great!

  • i love the way u talk n this is very helpful thank you

  • Dude, you have no idea how grateful I am for this video! Huge thanks!!

  • mono sound - hate it :s

  • @MyAndZ what, do you want different voices in your ears? :D

  • tutvid dot coooooooooooooooooom

  • where can i get this program?

  • You talk too much !!!!! and by the way : .COOOMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!! hahahahahaahahhah , MEGALOLLLLLLLLL

  • .COOOMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!! hahahahahaahahhah , MEGALOLLLLLLLLL

  • Thank you my friend, it is great video

  • Thank you my friend, it is great video

  • I'm confused around 14 minutes... what??? How exactly do we know that that area is a neutral gray??? What did moving the underlying buttons do?? I just know it made black spots.. but what were those black spots and how do we know that that's the neutral gray?

Also... ALL that was the automatic?! I'm dreading the manual portion of the video... lol

  • @fiveonefiveoh weird.. manual was actually more clear and seems easier

  • k is for ketone

  • Thanks for this.

  • see my video s2

    /watch?v=f6FCCvu6PdY

  • 05:05 for the actual color correcting to start.

  • please how can i get the pdf formula i went to that web site but can't find it

  • It is long, but unlike most videos on white balance here, it is also accurate and extensive. Most videos here tell you to use a gray point in any image... Well folks, I HAVE no gray point in many of my images... So that sucks. This guy helps you find gray points... So it's a thumbs up from me - and thank you!

To everyone complaining about the length here: this guy took just as long to upload this for you - so basically you are being pretty ungrateful and unfriendly...

  • Soooooo much blah blah…

If you don't want to have problem of white balance shot in raw!!

  • Something interesting, but all this bla bla made me sleep… :)

  • stop yakking and come straight to the point

  • it takes 26 minutes to watch the whole vid, yet it only takes 2 minutes to forget it...

  • why the fuck does he talk so much. there is easier tutorials than thisss

  • WOW GREAT VIDEO AGAIN

    THANK YOU

  • Nice, in depth explaination! Great tutorial.

  • wow! great tut! really great!

  • i fell asleep watching this...

  • this one so helpful thank you

  • hiiiiiiiiiiii

  • You sound like the drummer from Mettallica!

  • this is so awesome, and sooo much info, I'm gonna have to watch it 20 times. I think I'm just gonna buy your vid.

  • hate your voice.... just makes me scream on you... nice tut though.

  • can i do this with gimp?

  • funny talking "doooooooot coooooooooom"

  • bunch of dead beats

  • thx for the tutorial. Very usefull.

  • it's not too long, it's perfect. Keep it coming, Mr. Tutvid!

  • I saw your face, you're not my type at all, but : I love you however !

    a graphic designer

  • Exelent

  • thanks a lot for your videos. I am just learning to use photoshop and your videos are very helpful. thanks a lot.

  • Great Job! Keep'em coming! Worth watching.

  • i like details. awesome video tutorial.

  • Bad video quality, if your english is not good enough to udnerstand every word the guy says, you are lost. Can't see fonts.

  • @bujashaka If your english isn't good enough, make your english better. Which fonts are you talking about? Do you mean letters? Yeah, improve your english.

  • skip to 22:00 thats all you need lol

  • @beammark Yeah, all the closet fags should skip to that point.

  • @nakedvolleyball thats why mine has 2 thumbs up and yours has 0 a big fat goose egg

  • oooh gosh too long n too much talking why couldnt u do it in fast mode n tht would be a funny lesson!! =)

  • Did someone hold a gun to your head and force you to watch?

  • Excellent tutorial however it's way to drawn out. This could be reduced to about 4-5 minutes max and get the point across equally well. I hate to say it but some of these teachers really like the sound of their voice LOL!

  • And some people like to b*tch and whine like a kid when they anything isn't as perfect as they think it should be.

  • @Whoor

Relax man! There just comments and personal opinions, overall the tutorial is excellent. I value my time and maybe the creator of the video can take this as useful information, no one is trying to be mean or discredit the creator.

  • @Frosty1962 You relax...your comments are inconceivable when you look at the amount of time the guy puts into this. No, he doesn't provide many beginner tutes. So go to your mickey brightness contrast and shadow highlight and lasso tools...idiot.

  • @nakedvolleyball

Inconceivable? Really? The only reason I commented was so that the maker of the video might contemplate being a bit more concise. I submit images for C&C to get better at what I do. My comments were not directed to tare the person down who created the video, only to help. Notice, I tried to keep it light hearted?

I think your getting to worked up over this, are you the person who created this video?

  • @Whoor Yeah...no shit. Try creative cow or something and you get a bunch of dickheads telling stories and trying to crack jokes every three minutes. Tutvid doesnt' waste your fucking time. He makes detailed vids with advanced techniques. Pro techniques. He's also a working class dude...not some twat who doesn't have a callous. The guy's excellent. A craftsman. A hero. There should be more people like that in the tutorial arena.

  • too long

    xD

  • You are able to see how long videos are before clicking on them, maybe you should try that before attacking someone who is offering tutorials to help people.

  • @Whoor

    damn dude

    im not saying is bad.

im saying its long. usseful but long.

  • @tetoadriancradleoffi Too long, because your english is shit. Learn it better. Actually study it. because you learned it from some crap teachers...obviously.

  • @nakedvolleyball FUCK YOU DUDE

IF YOU SPEAK ANY OTHER LANGUAJE TELL ME IF YOU DONT GO FUCK YOURSELF

IM MEXICAN AND IM 18 YEARS OLD AND I SPEAK 4 DIFERENT LANGUAJES

I BET YOU ARE AND OLD GUY WITH NOTHING TO DO.

MEJOR DEJA DE CHINGAR Y PONTE A TRABAJAR

  • @tetoadriancradleoffi Too long? You're a too twatty. The fucking guy makes something that's actually useful and you say it's too long...you're too twatty.

  • @tetoadriancradleoffi thats what she said

  • @kaxtar1 perfect

  • @tetoadriancradleoffi there are no shortcuts man! i learned from it. all you have to do is patiently listen and observe. you'll see. this video is very helpful.

  • Excellent tutorial, thank you very much for sharing ;o)

  • Thanks great video.

  • Boring comment!

  • where can i find the skin values formula man. i really need it bro. pls

  • very good , thank you!!!

  • They K stands for Key.

  • great job

  • Good explanation of the technique, works well.

  • great tutorial

  • This tutorial was excellent. Colour correcting like the professionals do it. The results are superior. Thankyou very much.

  • Thank you very much for this video

  • Very good tutorial. I got up to the skin colour correction so far, but thank you for what I watched.

  • very useful, thank you

  • you fucking pervert xD

  • faeriesdragon-why are you watching then you stupid moron.

  • teh 3 primary colours are red blue and yellow not green

  • lol ...

  • wrong. RGB/CMYK

    RED/GREEN/BLUE/CYAN/MAGENTA/YELLOW/BLACK

Indeed, at the kindergarden rgy were the colors used.

  • He didnt say they were...he was talking about the rgb color mode.

  • i'm pretty sure he's talking about Light color values not Paint color values. If you look at the three circles in the beginning when he's explaining this you'll find at the center there is white. White is what you get whn you mix the spectrum of the colors from light. not that fecies brown that you get when you mix all of your paints together.

  • Thank you for this tutorial, useful indeed.

  • you talk to much..

  • lol

  • great tutorial, sir, thx.

Just one minor comment, K in CMYK stands for "Key", which is black basicaly, so no mistake there.

Just letting u know the name.

    :)

    T.

  • man ...i think that you are a PRO...nice job...thx...

  • In Photoshop, can you make photos into coloring book-like pictures for kids to print out and color in themselves with crayons?

  • of course

  • to make it to where kids can color it, you can make it into line art. look up a tutorial on youtube and type in 'how to mkae line art in photoshop'.

  • I have learnt more from this vid than any other I've ever seen. I am very grateful.

  • that girl looks a bit funny

  • very clever, nicely done... where do you learn these techniques from? is it from experience and creativity or from less acessible or easily understandable tutorials.... lol i doubt he will ever read this

  • I am not the guy from the video;-)

But you learn this by practise.

And there are a lot of books about photoshop.

if you are a beginner, try books by scott kelby.

And its just like learning the guitar, keep on trying, if you dont, it will never sound crystal.

same for photoshop, but it wil not sound crystal, but look;-)

    Good luck!

    Laters

  • tutvid rules, your tutorials rock but for a laugh type 'you suck at photoshop #2' into the search box its not a great tutorial but its pretty funny

  • I'm partially color blind, but good tutorial anyways.

  • i think this is a great way to do it, i mean i've never tried it like this before, but i find it really technical~ relying so much on the numbers! which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes i prefer to play by ear (or eye, so to speak). but this is a good way to do it when i don't really trust my senses as much :)

  • Hi Nathanie,

I'm starting a magazing and the problem is that it prints in CMYK and my flat screen monitor is RGB... Nothing prints like it should.

Do you know any 3rd pty software that i could download or any way of making my screen look RGB?

    Please help...

  • Here's a good resource to help you if you need more info about prepress. It's called Exploring Digital Prepress available from Amazon.

  • Hi Nathaniel!!!

Can you please make a CS3 skin color correction tutorial using a black person's photo next time, please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

  • excellent video - thanks for taking the time to do it...

  • hey nathan ^_^ this is a pretty neat trick!

  • I heard that a 190r, 150g, 130b is a nice skin tone
