He was told he had to play for his school to join the scotland squad, but since he was playing for celtic, he could'nt play for his school team. R.O.I had no rule about playing for your school so he joined them instead. Scotland's fault for having such a stupid rule.

His dad was an English teacher at my old school and Scotland had a rule where players had to play for there school team to play for Scotland but he was not eligible So Ireland called him up instead...after he made his debut Scotland wanted him again.
