  • this is beautiful! congrats on you "suprisingly" big family! :) i also had a water birth. best thing ever!

  • Your family is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for choosing to homebirth and breastfeed your gorgeous children; in doing so you've given them a gift nearly as precious as life. I've had two inductions in the hospital and they were miserable, traumatic experience. I have no idea what real birth feels like. Someday I want to have a homebirth; until then I strive to become a doula and IBCLC. Thanks for being amazing! :)

  • 0:50 - wht is tht?!?!

  • @emogirl1234ist It's a scale used for home births. Kind of a sling of material that hangs from a scale - baby is placed inside. Very gentle way of weighing them after the birth :)

  • This is a wonderful video. Thanks for posting it.

  • Im 35 weeks and 1 day, with child no 4, wish I could have a home birth but home births cost money

  • 1:58 is so precious, the look on Caleb's face says a thousand words.

    Fantastic.

  • What a beautiful family you have. God bless you all!

  • WHAT A BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!

  • Beautiful birth stories! I laughed for joy at the surprise twins.. How wonderful! HalleluYah!

  • Beautifully told! Thank you for sharing your story!

  • That music that is playing at 02:44,...could you tell me what it is. It is gorgeous. The video is too!!!

  • @taratkd If you go back in the comments, I list the songs and the CD title, but I don't have it near me right now and I've been extremely busy this summer, so hopefully you can find it!

  • i always am amazed when i see women giving birth. but god bless you guys. were u terrified when u found out you were pregnant. am not pregnant but i am terrified of the idea of ever having kids

  • @wendyjeanlouis The only thing I was afraid of before I ever got pregnant, was having an emergency c-section. The idea of surgery always frightens me a little, and is what actually led me to discovering home birth. I was recommended to look into midwives in order to avoid a c-section, and the birth stories I read were simply amazing. These women weren't scared during their births - they were excited! I knew right then that it was the route I wanted to go :)

  • @Prism7513 have 10-12 years to go before i cld thingk about that. but yea i had this dream once and it scared the daylights outta me. cldnt sleep for months, cuz i was afraid i wld have the same dream. lol

  • WONDERFULL

  • And that's how we do it ;)

  • Did you not have ultrasound scans and find twins?

God Bless you and your family =,)

  • @steadyhandsunny For the last pregnancy we did not have any ultrasound, so we didn't see the twins. Though my midwife did deliver surprise twins 3 years later with a mother who DID have an ultrasound revealing ONE healthy baby...:)

  • @Prism7513

Congrats! It takes a REAL man to sit in the tub with you during labor with all the blood and stuff. I think the thing now is men don't want to get dirty and stuff the only ones that do are the ones that really love you I can see that this family is full of love CONGRATS!

  • gorgeous births of gorgeous babies

  • Wow. Great surprise!! Gave me goosebumps!

  • that was a lovely video, it made me cry, it sounds like with suprise twins you just took it all in your stride and you seem like loving parents doing a great job birthing and raising children

  • Absolutely beautiful :) Any dr who believes homebirth is 'dangerous' or 'neanderthol' needs to see this! Once more, homebirthing twins IS possible and NOT and automatic unnecessarean. You have a gorgeous family and you made it happen the way God intended. Thank you for posting this, and I'm proud to say I'm an exclusive homebirther as well! Hooray for homebirth, Midwives, and Doulas everywhere!! :)

  • That was beautiful!! Congrats u have a wonderful family ur children r gorgeous! God bless u:)

  • Thanks for sharing! You're an amazing woman for doing the home-births and your children are absolutely beautiful!!!

  • What a wonderful collection of memories to share with the world, thankyou for sharing the magic that is . . . your beautiful family.

  • *-)

  • thanks for sharing...its was all so beautiful. way to go mama, dada and to all the family! homebirthing rocks!

  • The use of water is an amazing comfort tool to help Momma through the contractions by allowing her greater relaxation, easier mobility, easing pain, opening the pelvis, softening the perinium, and encouraging effective upright birth positions.

Did you have tears with any of your births?

  • @mynaturalchildbirth I didn't tear, but I did have what the midwives referred to as "skid marks", meaning, I guess, that you could tell the skin stretched, but didn't tear?

The twin birth was the least painful in that area, ironically. Even with the faster birth of the second baby, I'm guessing soaking in that tub all night long really helped...:)

  • @Prism7513 This was such a beautiful video! Honestly made me tear up!

  • Great video! Thanks for sharing!

  • thanks for answering! I can't get the idea of twins out of my head this time around! I am 6 months along and huge for me.

  • I really enjoyed you video. I have a couple of questions about the surprise twins. Did your fundal height correspond to your dates? In the video, you don't look enormous or anything. How was your weight gain in relation to your singleton pregnancies? Also, did your midwives palpate and try to determine babies position while in the womb? You are one of the few twin surprises I have found who was receiving care throughout the pregnancy so I'm curious. I am a fellow home birther!

  • @zaporah55 My fundal height was dead on, EXCEPT before 20 weeks. At 16 weeks, my fundal height was right at my belly button, and I commented to the midwife about it (asking about twins.) She mentioned that fundal height is not typically accurate or measured until after the 20 week mark. After that, I never measured even a week later than what I was (and at first I kept double checking!)

  • @Prism7513 My weight gain was the same as my two previous pregnancies, with the only difference being that I was thinner overall. My arms, legs, face, wasn't as filled out. But only gained the typical 30 for each of my pregnancies.

The midwives did palpate, and usually determined the "baby" to be posterior, head-down position. There were a few times when I myself would doubt which limbs I was feeling since it didn't make sense, but by then I'd ruled out the idea of twins...

  • really beautiful but does anyone notice the first time contractions started at 4 and the the second time at 5 then the thrid 6 and they were all on a wensday i really like the names Amber Dawn, Caleb James, Rebecca Mae, and then Logan John

  • Beautiful video! I do have to know, how did the midwife not pick up two heartbeats when she was checking FHT in the last pregnancy? Where the babies laying over each other? My local midwife had a surprise twins delivery but they didn't know cause of how the babies were laying, they just thought that the mum had a huge amount of amniotic fluid. lol

  • @Shutterbug2k9 When we used the doppler, we were only looking for one heartbeat. So when we found "it", we listened, and it was of course okay, so we never looked for another one. To check for twins this way, you'd have to have two dopplers going at once, and verify separate heart rates for two separate babies...we never tried

  • @Prism7513 Ah gotcha! lol Thanks for clearing that up for me. (I'm a midwifery student so I was very curious)

  • Beautiful inspiration to those of us who believe that birth in the home is the most natural healthy way to do it! Congratulations, God bless you're beautiful family!

  • wonderfull and blessed you are, really had tears in my eyes, would like to have homebirth too ...

  • May GOD bless you and your beautiful family!!!! :)

  • Bless you and your family =)

  • beautiful! simply beautiful!

  • Beautifull...CONGRATULATIONS FROM SPAIN

  • I will live vicariously through the wonderful parents who home birth/ water birth their children as I am finished having children and always wanted to home/water birth but wasn't allowed to. I found your video moving, lovely and beautiful.

  • you have beautiful babies , god bless you and your wonderful family

  • WOW, congratulations, you are an amazing women.. natural labor it's not easy wow..

  • TRULY BEAUTIFUL :) Although I do have to ask: How did you feel about the way they portrayed your birth on DH?

  • @arianicarli For the most part, we really thought they did a good job portraying the actual events. Of course they wanted to add a little "drama" to the story, so they made sure to emphasize what our fears were during the second birth...but we thought overall it was very accurate.

  • i cnt wait to feel like a real essence of being a MOM.i love this video...thanks for sharing..

  • MIL FELICIDADES,, DESDE MEXICO

  • i was a bit worried when it said there was another baby in there that you didn't know about beforehand, but elated to see that he was a good, healthy weight and doing fine. congratulations to you on your lovely family and for bringing your babies into the world the way that was most comfortable and natural for you.

  • So nice, thank u for sharing, with a great surprise at the end!

  • beautiful family...congrats for adorable little angels...

    thanks for great vid...

  • that is amazing ur truely blessed.. I dont know u but IM happy for u.. u have Beautiful children.... The Lord surely did bless u..

  • Beautiful!

  • This was a beatiful video. I would love to have a homebirth, but I was forced into a C-section with both of my children, so now I will not be able to have a homebirth. I am not even sure if I can have a natural birth.

  • that pic is so cute at 5:27 mins....

    congrats... =)

  • What a beautiful video! Blessings to your family.

  • how can the baby be born under water ???

  • @lulututu9899 - The baby has been in "water" for almost 9 months, "breathing" through the umbilical cord. Even after birth, the cord will supply oxygen to the baby until it is brought up out of the water to take it's first breath...

  • ohh thank you for responding my question

  • awesome- beautiful children!

  • why do women always have to do the hard work and men just stand around and watch saying "push baby push"?!?!

  • @Guineapigs478 It is the way God designed it.

  • @Guineapigs478 .....ha ha,nice,,,,,,,bcoz they cant do anything,,,,,,,,dts y they say...

  • This is a beautiful video!

  • What a wonderful way to show these beautiful children! I must say i love how your husband is in the water with you! you dont see many do that! Good luck to your family!

  • SO sweet and amazingly courageous.....

  • so did you not have anything to do with docters during your pregnancys?

  • @xboxriderx My first pregnancy I saw three midwives at an OBGYN's office, until mid-pregnancy when I switched over to seeing only the homebirth midwife. My second pregnancy I saw the OBGYN once, and a couple of midwives in his practice, then switched to the sole care of the homebirth midwife again. Only for my last pregnancy did not see any OBGYN or visit an office. Saw the homebirth midwife the entire time, though.

  • @Prism7513 So does this mean that you didn't have any ultrasounds or testing during your pregnancy (seeing that you didn't realize you were having two babies)? Thanks for sharing this very beautiful video with us. Amazing!

  • @millerfamily03 Most women who see homebirth midwives do not have ultrasounds done. Also, ultrasounds are actually quite dangerous (although western medicine will never admit that).

  • wouw I love this video,..I wish you al the luck and everything you need,

thanks for sharing this greet video,..greetings from the netherlands

    xxxxxx lisa

  • You are so blessed to have natural childbirths.

  • They are so beautiful! all of your children! omg

  • awe so cute

  • I just want to say congratulations :) I would have loved to have a home birth but I had all 3 of my children in hospital, my first I had an epidural and the 2nd and 3rd were natural, I have to say that no one really pushed me to get pain relief although the nurses were shocked when I didnt want anything!!

What an amazing story you have to share with your children :)

I am going to watch for your story on TLC now :D

  • hi erin

  • this was a beautiful video

  • Did you not have a scan during your 3rd pregnancy ?

  • @kirstiedale3 - No, this is the first pregnancy I didn't have any ultrasound.

  • @Prism7513 that is so admarable. in this day and age it would be huge temptation and we are all so accustomed to our priveledges

  • how lovely!!! <3 <3 <3 beautiful story! =)

  • are u naked?? by the way good family have a great day i subb ;)

  • What a beautiful, and inspiring video! Thanks so much for sharing this with us all!

  • Thank you so much for sharing! Your beautiful story is what makes me know becoming a midwife is the best decision of my life! (next to having my own little miracles)

  • Beautiful, beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing your experiences.

  • Congratulations! One of the most beautiful video on youtube!! 5? ;)

  • I can't do a home birth. My baby possibly has a heart complication... I would rather be uncomfortable in a hospital than have my child die. Even if there is only a possibility that he may. No risks.

  • great video. thanks for sharing. What a blessing! Gifts sent by God

  • okay i dont know if its just me or not but i looked thru everything you said and i cant find the songs anywhere......can you pepost them insted of having us go thru every convo

  • I had to scroll through the comments, too, to find it ;) It was near the beginning...

The CD is "Celtic Treasure" "the legacy of Turlough O'Carolan".

The songs were numbers 1,2,3 and 7 on the CD. They are titled, "Planxty Burke/Planxty Drew", "Squire Parsons/James Betagh", "Eleanor Plunkett", and "Si Bheag, Si Mhor".

  • Your children look so very happy. What a lovely family!

  • I want a baby!

  • Saw Twins by Surprise tonight... Just wanted to say that I am amazed by you and ther other Home Birth Mothers and You make me feel that one day when I have children I can do it too!

  • hey wow you done good! you have gorgeous kids! good luck with the future!

oh....could you tell me the name of this song. thank you

  • If you look back in the comments, I list the name of the CD and the songs used for the video. It was actually bought at Walmart :)

  • how old r the twins now?

  • They'll be 3 in July

  • they are both so sweet, congratulations!!!

  • es el mejor regalo de dios..........que el sen~or todo poderoso los bendiga hoy y siempre..........

  • thanks u so much for sharing ur babies are adorable and the twins are so healthy and cute.

  • What a great video. Thanks for sharing. Your kids are so cute! I am 36wks pregnant with my 2nd child and cannot wait to see how our 2yr old boy reacts to the arrival of his sister! :) These videos on here bring me comfort that the transition will be a somewhat easy one! :)

  • Well, I will admit that the transition was NOT easy at first, as the toddler had to adjust to a newborn. In both instances, there was a very difficult period as the newborn consumes so much time, devotion, and attention. But after a few months, the baby becomes old enough to interact with the older child, and my kids have been pretty close ever since. Still fight - but also still close :)

  • Thanks for the reply and for telling me what to expect. I think that is what I am scared of the most - how the two kids are going to thrive in our family unit. Makes me nervous but then I think, "this is part of life. Siblings come into families everyday.." and that brings me some strength and hope. I also don't know what to expect with a newborn because my son was in the NICU for the first month due to gastroschisis. This is going to be a learning experience in more ways than one!

  • I hope you have a wonderful birth, a healthy baby, and I know you son will warm up soon and become the adoring big brother that his little sister can't get enough of :)

  • @MajestaBuck - I was 4 when my brother was born & I remember getting a little irritated that I wasnt the center of attention anymore. My Dad kept stressing to me that "Mommy is very tired & [they] need a lot of help b/c taking care of a new baby is a lot of work. So the more love [I] can show the baby, the better." That was all it took! Dad made me a part of everything & after a while James really started to grow on me :-P Of course we fought/fight but all siblings do. Now hes 18 and we're cool.

  • Su historia en hermosa..

y sus pequeños.. aun más.. son una familia hermosa.

    Dios los bendiga por siempre.

  • Incredible!!! Surprise twin homebirth!!!! And a prolapsed cord, baby okay....oh I am so happy for you. INCREDIBLE!

    And the Qur'an all right

  • that was beautiful

  • Cute children and amazing parents. :)

I am always saying "I'll never have kids, I like my life the way it is" but seeing this kind of things just makes me want to experience childbirth and been a mother... and if I ever have a baby, I'd like to be natural.

  • beautiful video!! :)

  • i am watching this and you just came up on tv, on TLC how funny!!!!!

  • Great job Mama and what a wonderful husband! And yet more proof that birth does not need to be an over-dramatized over-medicalized event. Thanks for sharing!

  • How do you not know your prego with twins

  • @cutlersbutler lol. But seriously, I would like to know as well. Maybe they didn't do regular ultrasounds? I have no clue but that's an interesting thing to know. Wow, how beautiful!!!

  • i reaaly cried watchin your vidoe, it really shows how your family and friend supported you. it just hows how your husbond loves you!

  • Absolutely beautiful! God Bless!

  • WOW!! What a beautiful video. That you so much for the courage to share your experience with all of us. It's fantastic to know that some are finally starting to choose using a midwife instead of an insanely expensive and insensitive hospital.

Gosh, this almost made me cry, and I'm a man, haha.

    God Bless you all!!

  • what a beautiful family! many blessings to u and urs...

Thanks for the post; God bless your amazing family!

  • This was so so beautiful to watch, thank you for posting!

  • Gorgeous!

  • love the cat just sleeping the background, like he's there to support u lol

  • Wow, a prolapsed cord! How did you handle this?

  • To reply to my own comment, obviously you pushed through it, I meant in more detail. Did the midwives/you try to hold it to the side, was there a different position you took? This is one of the first situations where I haven't heard a ZOMG PROLAPSED CORD and it went without the following of calling immediate emergency personnel. Just curious :)

  • The midwife had still felt the pulse in the cord, so we knew it wasn't compressed, yet. So she just told me to I had to push my baby out NOW...and one midwife kind of pushed down on my belly while other people held my legs back and I pushed REALLY hard so that he came out relatively quickly...

  • it seems to me that very little is actually a HUGE problem for a good midwife. we had a 43 week, posterior baby who was descending unevenly, pushing contractions before full dilation, she had cord round her neck, shoulder got a bit stuck, and then didn't breathe straight away....never a panic or drama inthe capable hands of my beloved midwife.

congrats on your beautiful babies and your lovely surprise :)

  • this is so beautiful... very inspirational too :)

  • Hello!Nice pictures of your 4 birth with your 4 child!=)

    Give you 5 star!=)

    Greeting TheCARRE74=)

  • This is beautiful! I'm 5wks 6 days pregnant and this had me in tears. Your family is beautiful. God bless!

  • most valuable treasure for great mommy and daddy

  • A beautiful video to see. Did you know you where having twins or was it a surprise during the birth? It was a surprise to me to see a home birth with twins. Precious babies!

  • Nope, we didn't know until about 15 minutes after the first was born. We had some thoughts about twins during the pregnancy, but by 10 weeks I stopped considering it as I never measured higher than the week I was at.

  • Wow wonderful!!!!

  • You are an inspiration to mothers everywhere. God bless you and your sweet family.

  • is anyone else bawling?

  • That's exactly what I was doing! :)

  • at 5:35 u have a beautiful children! so awesome! i love them!
