  • Hey, I'm just learning how to draw on the computer and this video has helped me so much! Thank you!

  • Thank you SO much! :D

  • Thank You so much, this helps a lot. :3

  • is there a way to clear the colors that went out of the lines and such?

  • @LmfaoEmma

With an eraser at an opacity of 100% If it's not going to be covered up by another layer, you need to be careful of coloring inside the lines.

Or, if you're using the bucket fill to color an area and it goes outside the lines, check to make sure lines are all closed/connected. You may want to use the zoom tool so you see tiny gaps better.

    Hope that helps~

  • This is very very helpful! Thank you!!! :]

  • Thanks so much! This was my first digital art, and while it wasn't excactly Picasso-rste material, it was good!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this!! The layers is the BIGGEST concept thats hard to understand and you made it SO much easier to!! Your awesome!! :]

  • what is your genius tablet model?

  • @pinkpuffprincess1

This type I use is F610 Ultra-Slim Tablet.

  • omg this was soo helpful like to the max thank you thank you!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this! this really helped me get started :DD

  • Thank You 4 teaching me How to Draw!!!!!!!

  • do u use your mouse or something to draw o-o im sry i sound stupid but im super new to this!

  • @iGuiGuixD

I use a Genius digital art tablet. It cost around $100. However, many people recommend Wacom Bamboo tablets for entry level tablet users. You can get a small one around $70. I've even read the reviews on them, and they seem to be better than the Genius reviews. My Genius has some glitches and is starting to draw like I'm shaky, so I've been looking into the Wacom Bamboo for a while.

    Hope that helps! : )

    PS: That's ok, I didn't know what a tablet was until I asked either ; )

  • @CrazyOverAnime328 ty for taking the time to answer my question :D

  • this helped so much, thanks. :)

  • mine came out as a floating head too

  • @stellapageful

    Whoo, I'm a trend starter!

  • did you do your scetch with a tablet?

  • @MelloYelloBannana

Yes, I used a Genius tablet.

  • You make it look so easy X3

  • @KingdomKat03 Haha, thankyou! =) But don't worry, it's all about practice! It took me months to get that far with GIMP, and as you might be able to tell, I'm an ameteur myself still. Like I said in the description, you'll probably find better videos on youtube :-)

  • My layers won't swap?

  • @iCanHasJerking

    Sorry for the late reply!

Anyway, did you mean you can't move your layers to put them above or below another layer? Try checking to see if you have any of your layers locked, and then unlock them. Or make sure you're holding your click and dragging the layers to go where you want them.

If that still doesn't help, you're welcome to message me with a snapshot of your layers box. I might be able to find the problem.

  • I cant even make a good sketch -.- god im horrible at this

  • thank u thank u!! I love this video its really good plus its shown me a lot of stuff i did NOT know. Oh and isnt GIMP free? Im pretty sure i seen a site where it was.

  • @MeanInPink

Yes, GIMP is free. I talked about it in the description box. You can get the link to download it there ^.^

  • Great tutorial!

  • Dude, thanks so much for this tutorial! if it weren't for you, i'd still be failing at my art. xD but yeah! thanks so much for it. :) did you use a mouse or a tablet to create your tutorial?

  • @hootllum Haha, no she's not XD But now I kind of wish she were! It's more of a stick figure example. I'm glad you watched my video, it makes my day! Thanks! :)

  • @CrazyOverAnime328 Haha! I know right XD.

    Your welcome.

  • Wow(air hug) Thanks for this awthom tutorial! It really helped me out to solve how to do digital art on Gimp now!

  • @chellokingdomhearts1 I'm glad it helped you! Thanks very much for watching!

  • can you give me a tip on how you make your "lineart" ink lines so perfect? :(

  • @CatSpirit3 My lineart? WHERE? Haha, thanks so much! :)

Well, I does help to own a tablet. If you don't already own one, I'd go for a Wacom Bamboo :) From there - see what makes your lineart best. Sometimes I must go slow & steady or erase lines that I make a dozen times before I like them. It depends on angles and things like that, too. Hope I've helped! :)

  • @CrazyOverAnime328 i'll keep that in mind :o

thanks so much for replying <3!

  • @CatSpirit3 You're welcome! :)

  • @CrazyOverAnime328

also, can the wacom bamboo tablet work with this program? :c

  • @CatSpirit3

Yes, it should work with any program! Think of a tablet like a pen-mouse for your computer :)

  • @CrazyOverAnime328

okay thanks i stop bugging you now :) lolz

  • @CatSpirit3 Haha, that's ok ;) I don't really mind, anyway ^_^

  • @CatSpirit3

    Hi again!

I've come back to this comment and I have some more info for you regarding your question. I heard somewhere that you have to practice using your tablet like you practice learning how to draw with a pencil. The more you use your tablet over time should help improve your lineart.

So, I hope that helps as well! :D

  • thx ~

    xD

  • Wow you've put loads of effort into this video. It's awesome!!!

  • @wayztan Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! :D But it's still in my horrible drawing quality ;) And I'm probably missing a few details!

  • OMG, this is the best tutorial I have seen and since Im a beginner BELIEVE ME I have seen so many. Congrats on your presentation its a 10/10 to me.

  • @joalmg

    I'm glad you think so!

But like I said in the video description, there are a lot of other tutorials and speedpaint videos on youtube you should check out. With art, you should never stop learning : )

  • Thanks so much! I'll download the software soon, i have been looking for a free program just like this for awhile now! :D -and by the way, great songs, the first 2 are like on my top 5 favorite songs O.o- 5/5

  • You're welcome! :) And thanks very much! :D

Hehe, they're my close favorites :)

  • Great tutorial :)

  • Thanks very much :) I'm glad it helps you :D

  • Thanks! I'll look back for help if I needed, but shading part was the best part! :D
