  • Was this a pilot?

  • @SenorZorrozzz I'm sure you remember the days of summer replacement shows. This show ran from June through August, 1967.

  • @otto32848 For sure, but there must have been something else on in that time slot that was a hit! Our family loved Steve Allen and how we missed this I don't know.

  • I watched tv all through the 60s and never saw this show

  • his shows were a riot john byner at his best too

  • It had to be 1969, the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson - guest John Byner. He came on and did his bit then sat with Johnny and Ed. He started talking about a thing he did with his brother(?) where they would go into a diner and his brother would order something using a ridiculous voice - the waitress feeling sorry for this guy. She then turned to him and using the same voice would say "I'll have the same." I fell on the floor laughing and couldn't stop, and every time since still.

  • @SunSop66 .... I saw that too! I busted up laughing. What a GREAT story. Thank you. That goofy voice is "Mr. Fossadeedy."

  • John Byner was 29 years old here.

  • "otto...": LOL! No problem. I loved Steve Allen from the moment I came to NYC in 1957, whatever time, whatever channel. The best! Thanks for this memory.

  • You forgot to mention Dayton Allen!!!

  • True, sorry about that.

  • Ha,ha, with an early, short haired appearance of the marvellous John Byner.
