People with CF can come into contact with one another. It's another misconception. I live in the US and things are a bit different here. But anyways yeah...Let's find a cure...CF Sucks.
Its not a misconception atall, in the UK the hospitals are very strict on cross infection. I never even see another CF patient when I visit. My ward have just spent hundreds of pounds builiding new facilites so that we never come into contact when an inpatient i.e. our own rooms with internet, tvs etc and en suites.
Cf patients can choose to come into contact outside of the hospital if they want to, its their choice and many do but it is not advised.
If you guys in the US think like that then your around 15 years behind us.
I had a look on the US CF webiste and found that you guys only segregate people with B. Cepacia (this is how it started over here). Look at this little sentence from the US website not so much of a myth now - "As we learn more in the laboratory about cross infection and the risks of B. cepacia, we are compelled ethically and legally to take stronger steps to minimize cross infection among people with CF. "
thanks, glad people are liking it. I explained things in alot more detail when I did the presentation. I think everyone went away knowing alot more about CF :o)
This is one good video! Well done! Its great!
