My suggestion that it might be a rip-off was tongue in cheek. The fact that I had to use 4 pedals which together are worth considerably more than the Lo-Fi costs, show that it's not overpriced, which was someone else's view.
Thanks for the informative video, yours are always worth watching.
I was thinking of getting one of these, but I discovered that by running my strat through a compressor, a Boss GE-7 graphic pedal, a 70's Clone Theory and then through a Boss PN-2 Tremelo pan pedal, that I could replicate just about every sound that you got out of the Lo-Fi Junky. So I think that it's a bit of a rip-off Graeme, don't you?
Hmmmm? Why use one "rip off" pedal when four chained together will do the same? With respect: You probably could replicate the sound with those boxes (one of which is an expensive vintage chorus) but it's hardly cost effective. Not unless you already own a graphic, comp, clone and trem pan.
Brilliant Demo Graeme, you always come up with the goods! zvex have posted this vid on there facebook page in case you didnt know. excellent Collection you have there mate, one question though - where do you live and when are you out of the house? :-)
So let me guess, this costs 5 times more than similar pedals out there. Zvex is totally over rated. Good product but nowhere near what worth the price.
Well... Im not too sure about that. With respect, there really isn't a similar pedal to this on the market. As for the price, I wouldn't think it costs 5 times as much as any pedal. G
@dbenc Zvex makes a quality product, and this pedal sells for $219 street for the vexter model. If $219 is a LOT for a pedal, then you must have an issue with a TON of companies. And not many pedals cost around $40. And if they do, chances are they probably don't sound too great...

Run an electric piano or synth through this, and you'll have Instant Boards of Canada.

zvex and ehx. my two favorite pedal makers, although ehx is a little cheaper.

@dbenc Midfi's Clari(not) is probably the closest to this effect I've seen, but it's a bit different...a bit more radical

thanks for the demo, but it totally feels like it's not your style of pedal.

I do like this pedal but i found the sounds similar to my Diamond Vibrato, but i find the COMP/ Lo-Fi knob a great addition

@blondegraemey You can copy the circuit diagram and build an identical pedal for more than 10 times less
