"9" is a walk not a base hit- lol evan though i havent played this for a million years as soon as i saw joe morgan get a 9 i knew it was a walk lol. What i use to do is- write to the company and tell them i didnt get the player disk's, so they would mail me a whole new set, then i would mark out all the names and put the names of who ever i liked in baseball.
@1959thDrWho at 0:53, I zoom in a little towards the left of the box where you will see the copyright and the year 1968. That was what I went by to determine the year. I bought this one on E-bay and the seller listed as a 1968 version. I'm under the impression that it is a 68. thanks for the info :-)
Wayne, I have actually videotaped and posted a few half innings of some games I played on YouTube, and of course, I 'announced' them, so to speak. It's remarkably easy to become tongue-tied in the excitement of what happens. In my last game I described the runner running after the ball instead of the fielder! Oops! My shot is probabably gone, too.
This game is still alive, although out of print. Alive because some guys who played it in the fifties and sixties have an internet forum of 500 members. They even make their own discs, with the caveat that those are not for sale but available to members. If you played that game or like it, check it out. BTW, Wayne, on the hit and run your batter was out, and the nine is base on balls...
@The39guy thanks for the info on the forums. and my mistake on that batter. oops! there goes my shot at being a baseball annuoncer on a real team. lol :-)
@dolphinbuc I'm not really sure, I read later that the creator of this game started manufacturing them as early as the 40's and they made games up to the mid 80's. I believe this and strat-o-matic may very well have been around probably around the same times. I loved this game when I was young. I used to play whole seasons with pen and paper. LOL

@TheAcarch2 It's the best! My dad bought this used in the '80s, with upgraded player-discs. I've lost most of the pieces.

The only place you can buy it is eBay. However, there is a group on Yahoo that made player discs.
