  • lol. :D :P

  • Most of the perceived difference between the formats is almost completely psychosomatic nowadays, actually. Since most albums since the late '80s have been digitally recorded, CD's actually offer just as faithful a reproduction of the source, as vinyl has to go through an analogue conversion before being pressed.

  • @donottakethisname It would depend on the quality of the original recording. Just as any BD-Audio (yes, I know they are very rare) sounds better than a CD, a record created from the same source as the BD-Audio would also.

  • you had the damb volume down

  • this is so retarded

  • WHY the fuck are you headbanging to rap

  • @dazzerman12 what are you supposed to do when listening to rap? also, classic track

  • Did I get a glimpse of a man in a white coat in the background?

  • what the FUCK are you wearing

  • Ahahahah.

  • Ouch my ears...

  • brand new flava in ya ear!!!

  • i like your hat

and you are right, vinyl does sound better

    practice and enjoy !!

  • @pooface006 can you actually put a Viynal in there for real

  • @prckay no,its a cd player not a vinyl player

  • @pooface006 oh It ones of thsoe cds that looks like a vinyl

  • @prckay i don't know

but i do know that he is not actually playing it

  • funny =))

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well presented argument.

  • whats the name of the song?

  • FAKE!!!!!!!!!!

  • @rosemrie721 No way.

  • Ok answer this becauae im curious

Does vinyl give better quality than FLAC?

  • @drionshk If the vinyl is recorded and mastered in an analog format (eg. not in a computer) then yes it does, if the vinyl is mastered in a digital format then no, it gives the same quality. (than flac, because it is loseless, not than mp3 for example.)

  • @OZPerpetue oh okay. Now how exactly do you master on analog? I've heard that vinyl usually does have better mastering than mp3 (and flac or wav, whatever) but I'm curious to how you do that.

  • @thisisfis Well you actually modify tapes physically, you cut them, paste them (with special method of course), join them etc. Nobody does that anymore since the computers are much more easy to use.

When you record in analog you also record in tapes, different tapes have different number of tracks, in fact the most common is the 8 track (not to be confused with the commercial 8 track) the you "edit" those tracks as i said before, hope that explains it :)

  • @thisisfis Oh and about the better mastering, that is because of two reasons: when cd's first started, the only rentable method to master them was using the 44.1 khz sample rate, which is very very bad. and the second reason is that producers normally want the cd to be as "loud" as possible, so they peak most of the frequencies on the cd, losing dynamics and such, they can actually avoid it, check this video: youtube..... /watch?v=0G4PZ1HnlEk

  • Thumbs up if you think digital (iPod/MP3/WAV) is better!!!

  • @BluSk0rpi0n It's not. Mp3 is basically the lowest quality format of any of them. if you actually understood the formats you're claiming are better, you wouldn't have said that. your iPod is also a complete piece of disposable shit. lastly, your triple exclamation points to emphasize your ingorance renders you inbred :*(

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n So much ignorance, where to begin. Firstly, a wav file is not "very close to CD audio", it *is* CD audio. It's an exact copy of what's on the CD, you idiot. Secondly, iPods are popular because of advertising, not quality. The quality is pretty low and they are basically disposable. Even when they came out, there were superior alternatives. Perhaps you haven't heard of them because you are incurious and only aware of what is spoonfed to you in a TV commercial.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n WAV's are a lossless identical copy of what is on a CD. Sorry you're too stupid to have yet figured this out. Also, learn what sarcasm is if you think I actually listen to the Backstreet Boys. On the other hand, according to your profile you listen to Evanescence, so I should probably just assume you're an overweight 14 year old girl. If you listen to music as poorly produced as that, it's no wonder you like ipods. I'm sure your stereo system is junk too. Lastly, LEARN ENGLISH

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Lastly, your insults and comebacks resemble something you'd hear on Jerry Springer or COPS, yet again reaffirming that you are inbred white trash.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n By the way, the spelling of Earth as "Earf" was intentional, it was sarcasm. It's a theoretical ebonic version for Earth. Secondly, again, your posts are riddled with horrendous spelling/grammar errors. The irony is unbearable. It's like you're too stupid to realise you're stupid.

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Thirdly, there were no spelling errors in my comment, only what was an obvious typo. This is ironic considering you used the incorrect "your". You meant to use "you're" which means you are. "one the most popular" and "did you homework" don't make sense, either. Perhaps you should finish the 3rd grade before commenting on language skills. Overall my grammar and communication is superior to your obnoxious capital letters and overuse of exclamation points. Use your indoor voice.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Oh, and lastly. Analog formats (such as vinyl) are superior to your CD's/WAV's in terms of sound. So yes, your mp3s and iPod are blessing you with one of the lowest quality audio experiences possible. I can't believe you actually tried to argue in favour of iPod based on its popularity, as though the average public gives a shit or has a fucking clue anyway. I suppose Justin Bieber is popular because his music is that good? Right, in closing, you're an inbred. Don't respond.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Holy shit you're fucking dumb. We're discussing sound quality, not convenience you fucking idiot. Arguing about taking vinyl with you outside is so missing the point that I would like to smash your head open over a sidewalk. If you want to know why vinyl/analog sounds better, try looking at an analog sound wave vs a digital one, you god damned hillbilly. Vinyl is popular with audiophiles and people who give a shit about SOUND QUALITY, not just DJ's.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n CD is "impure" from the beginning, moron. It's just samples of what an analog (VINYL) format would reproduce fully. Pops are attributed to dust. Oh you know a few pro musicians who swear by digital? lmao, nice argument. Millions DO you imbecile, it doesn't make a point either way. Digital is a lot easier to work with, it doesn't mean it sounds better. And you did not look at digi/analog sound waves if you think there's no difference, lol. Someone help this god damned idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n A million times I've said "If vinyl is done correctly" (meaning all the gear/records are in good condition) and yet again your moronic response is 'YEAH WELL RECORDS CAN DETERIORATE MORE!!!!!'... Again, what's your fucking point, idiot? They still sound better. lmao, kill yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n "My point is media the DETERIORATES or is so fussy to set up,can't possibly sound good now can it?".... MY POINT IS YES IT CAN, AND IT CAN SOUND BETTER THAN DIGITAL. You mention archiving and how easy it is to set up, yet AGAIN failing to realise that the argument has nothing to do with convenience, but SOUND QUALITY. I'm sure analog is a lot more complicated to understand for the likes of you, Cletus, but all the shouting racist terms wont get you a good sound system

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n I have a 5.1 surround system, Harman Kardon receiver, various Infinity/Polk Audio speakers, I have near 10,000 DIGITAL FLAC's on my fucking computer. And I have a 1978 turntable. Guess which sounds better? Vinyl in stereo mode sounds better than digital files with any DSP mode, faggot. You obviously have been listening to music on your crappy computer speakers or some shitty boom box, because I can tell you are poor white trash and can't afford a real system.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n AJAHAHAHAH. You have a Dell computer and Harman Kardon speakers? Like those little tiny fist sized satellite speakers? That's fucking garbage, you idiot. Kenwood is also an inferior brand. I also don't think you even know what wow and flutter is. For me to follow your logic (or lack of) would be to say "CD CANT POSSIBLY SOUND GOOD, SOMETIMES IT SKIPS AND THEY GET SCRATCHED THEREFORE THEYRE JUNK AHAHAHAH1". Thankfully I'm not so retarded.

  • @BluSk0rpi0n You have a few vids in your favorites about killing yourself. Might I suggest following through? Cause if you're 36 and this is your level of ignorance and poor communication skills, I'd say you've failed at life.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n You said "try and find atlest one mistake", hilariously enough, there's a huge one in that very sentence. The words you were looking for were "at" and "least", not "atlest". Also "your" and "you're" are different. Give up.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Dude, you have mental problems coupled with low intelligence. That's about the last I'm going to say, hopefully.

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n FLAC, like WAV, is exactly what's on the CD. What's your point? Lmao. Again all your arguments come down to convenience/maintenance, while i'm trying to point out that a proper vinyl setup will smoke a digital setup anyday, and it comes down to analog vs digital which you continue to insist there is no difference. If this is your belief, then you're beyond hope and content to stay ignorant due to low intelligence and, again, possible inbreeding.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n There's tons of spelling errors in your comments, you're just too stupid to realise it, lmao. You still haven't figured out that "your" doesn't mean "you are", which is something most 10 years old have learned already :*(

Yet again, your entire argument boils down to DIGITAL IS MORE CONVENIENT THEREFORE ITS BETTER!!@#!#!. So what? It doesn't sound better because it's just SAMPLES of an analog wave. Again it's very simple, but you seem to be too dumb to get it.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n It's "COMMON" not "COMON", moron. And the difference is not in the apostrophe, it's in the fucking word. You're and your have completely different meanings. You continue to use the wrong one becaues you don't know the difference.

"YOU DONT KNOW anything cause had you know anything you would of said BETTER & MORE arguments in your arguments."

That was like the most profoundly non-sensical sentence I've ever read. Are you trolling? You can't be for real. Seriously.

  • Comment removed

  • @BluSk0rpi0n What you've overlooked YET AGAIN is that a digital file is deterioriated from the beginning. It's not the "full picture", it's just samples of the picture. So it doesn't matter how clean and reliable digital formats are, it's not as "full" sounding as analog. Go listen to a real sound system with a real turntable and if you can't hear the difference, off yourself.

  • @BluSk0rpi0n Dude you have some serious issues for talking like that. On top of that, those insults aren't even clever or intimidating. Just batshit insane and unneccessarily bigoted.

  • i bet my money on vinyl because there is more sound in it then a cd or mp3

  • Another thumbs up. Fcuk the dipshits that gave a thumbs down. Just serious fuctards that can't have a decent laugh at something well thought out and fun.

  • haha your a legend quality stuff

  • @jvlopez9291 4 real man !!!!!!!!!!!

  • lol at all these fools worshipping vinyl; i think ill stick with listening to studio quality music without all the crackling shit.

  • @0neofthem I pity you

  • @crowdedenz87 LOL

  • @0neofthem your a fool...

  • @DJJEFFCLIVEISATROLL lol good one dumbass

  • @0neofthem lol..yes you are fool you x box playing fetus.....

  • @DJJEFFCLIVEISATROLL that was the most ignorant and immature comment i've seen all day. i suppose that makes you a "ps3/pc playing faggot?" am i right asshole?

  • @0neofthem none of them because I grew up......lol......and your comments a bit gay!

  • @DJJEFFCLIVEISATROLL and i can tell that your meaningless responses come from a piece of shit (you in case you weren't capable of figuring that out on your own)

  • @0neofthem wah wah wah wah!!! you bellend.....lol.....

  • I've been thinking on it more, could anyone have senses that would be able to tell if one sounds better than the other? If so how could they prove it? Recording both versions on any computer program would just show the same copy, patterns and wave lengths ect. Is there a program out there that can accurately tell what input the quality is? Does this whole comment sound crazy? The answer, what sound do you trust? I'll say that I trust vinyl over all formats, CDs ect.

  • Vinyl does sound better than CD. Vinyl has a transparent and fluid sound..

  • nice hat...!! vinyl ftw

  • 1. Isn't a CD nowadays not really meant for a vinyl cd player?

    2. I heard vinyl cds that have lots of crackling noise, even new with audio as old as yesterday.

    3. Mp3 sucks, so does compression. Nowadays usually the best possible quality is on the album, and its wma, wav, etc. that sounds excellent, not mp3

  • lol irony

  • Comment removed

  • @bigbadwolf2007 quite hatin foo

  • @uhhhhhwhhy Sorry I'm not a hater!

  • @bigbadwolf2007 your the idiot .......

  • Comment removed

  • @bigbadwolf2007 and your a twat ......its taking the piss and you dont get it hence idiot!.....simple....

  • Comment removed

  • @bigbadwolf2007 well stop making stupid comments about jon.....and get the joke!

  • Lol, you should do more of these. These are funny.

  • but ipod is easier with digital turnables =D

  • quite ! Also CD cases are just too small to skin up on ! :)

  • cd is better for one the sound very clear and no other noises ,and To how many of you gus have a vinyl player in your car . and how big is a vinyl. so how many times can you play a vinyl befor you start to loose quality?

  • @groovymeny Those small static sounds and little scratches that are heard when listening to vinyl are often the reason why people like them better than CDs. because it gives it a much more raw sound to it. plus i think Vinyls look great. even more amazing to see how they are made. alot of effort it put into it.

  • Vinyl wins!! whoooo!! Much better than a CD!

  • ahahahahahah este hijo de su puta madre como me hizo reir hahaha Vynil forever!!!!

  • This is retarded. Of course the vinly is going to sound better in a record player compared to a CD in a record player.

  • Vinyl sounds better on my $500 TT vs my $6500 CDP. On a nice system a decent TT will sound heavenly.

  • That's the whole point! CD might sound better but who is using the "old fashioned" expensive CD's, with lossless data? They're all stuffed with poor quality MP3 data. And vinyl is supreme over MP3, for sure! (not even mentioning the delicious crackles)

  • ha-----------ha

  • You jus wanted a feedback, Here it goes...You are an asshole in desperate need of humour

  • ahaha very funny

  • Comment removed

  • Vinyl it's analog, not sample rate at all....

    by the way...

CD much higher Dynamic Ratio, and that's a fact.

  • Analog Recordings don't have a sample rate, you idiot...

  • yeaah old shool ever!!

  • Funny as Fu@k.

    Spot on marqmike2 :-)

  • lol Vinyl Ftr...

  • hahah actually so good

  • GOD DAMMIT YOUR AMAZING lol

  • You MUST have children.

"Craig Mack's got the fat funk flav'!!" I love that guy. He's so underrated. I have "Operation: Get Down". I'll have to find a copy of the first one because I suspect it's even better.

  • god i love u! hah ur the best man! always good for a laugh!

  • OMG!

  • lets see CD = 44.1khz.... Vinyl = Lossless hmmm i think its obvious lol

  • I think you mean Vinyl has a theoretically unlimited sample rate because it is essentially constantly "sampling". So, in theory Vinyl has the ability to have a higher quality than CDs, but this is beyond the point of transparency. The really issue, though, is the kind of sound you get from each format. Analog music tends to have a "warmer" sound for a number of reasons, one being that there is no hard point where things clip, they just naturally distort at a certain point.

  • @modmadmike2 ya i knew that to

  • Best song ....i have this on vinyl ...

  • hahaha mate your the best

  • of course it does! XD

  • Amen!!! Vinyl is Gods gift to music and music lovers!!!

  • @mrhoffame 4 sure

  • The Vinyl / Digital argument is such a conspiracy... if only you DJ's realised that most music is created in the digital domain these days and that 'theory' actually went out with the likes of analogue tape and live musicians doing straight recordings to tape and cut to vinyl... wake up and smell the coffee... nice vid ellaskins :-) 5 stars x

  • most new music stinks

  • BassGoesBoom1

Ha ha ha, what a totally preposterous comment to make....?

    How about....

"You don't actually like new music"

    ?

  • generally new music is too overcompressed

    bring back 90's music!

  • BassGoesBoom1 ..... you're toooo right..... everything is just squashed to the top levels like being in a tank filling up with water... there's no head room anymore....!

  • This is very subjective

  • vinyl wins again!

  • I'm about to have my album put onto vinyl exclusively. There is no better way to listen to recorded music.

  • haha love it

  • flava in da ear

  • more correctly, good sir, in this case, vinyl actually makes a sound!

    <3

  • LOL.

  • THIS GUYS FUCKING NUTS.

  • nqma takyv kalyf!!!

  • Funny way to make a point , lol . The vynil market ( or a least production ) has'nt really changed for YEARS .. officail annalasys !! Purists who know whats right are'nt gonna stop buying just cos their mates use POOOR mp3's and serato . Actually .. i have my own record out next week ... will post vid of it against cd next week then . cheers

  • Is it true that the production of vinyl is stoppin in 2010, cos if it is that means im screwd lool

  • nah

  • Thats what Virtual vinyls are for ^^

  • thats a old skool jint oh no i fogot it plz can you tell me ellaskins

  • what song is this?

  • yieeeaaahhh!!!

    Flava in the EEAAAR

    hahaha

  • playboy bunny

  • I agree with vinyl sounding better than CD...but, lets find a way to really prove it other than comedy? How about playing a vinyl recording against a CD recording (a little sample of each), and let the public decide? (CD used to give me a headache when I listened to it)

  • oh god, YES! Vinyl IS Better!

  • all dubstep is released on vinyl, almost none one cd, hmmmm.

  • on crack.....100%%%%%%

    but funny way...

  • TOTALLY AGREE

  • vinyl forever

  • no you are wrong......

  • too bad they don't make vinyl anymore :D

I do have one Vinyl record though and no record player.. :( CDs are good enough

  • they do make vinyls most albums that are released are released on vinyl too, but just harder to find and more limited,, and alos more expensive... but its worth it.. why buy a CD when you can download it its pointless...

  • then what are records made of then?

  • are you serious?

  • ooooooo yess they doo....

  • They still make vinyl, they never stopped.

Get back into vinyl and buy a turntable.

  • finally someone i agree with

  • Yes, Retailers just stopped carrying it due to lack of market demand, and pressure from the music industry to "force" CD (and cassette for a longer time>)

Companies still make records: Hell, I am sure right now somewhere int he world a music artist somewhere is having vinyl of their work being made, ready to go to clubs and to special purchasers worldwide.

  • Depending on the type of music you play vynl is not always a viable option. I spin reggae dancehall, and if you want to stay on top of the new stuff coming out you need to spin with CDJ or Serato...A lot of the new tunes dont even come out on vynl anymore.

  • Then buy online. I have yet to visit any audio store, mainly because they NEVER carry any of the shit I listen too.
