Physically, Northport has it all: steep hills, the deepest and most protected harbor on Long Island, and a drop dead gorgeous park on the waterfront that's actually dog friendly. But it's not just the beauty of our surroundings that makes our home magical; it's also because we're like a very small town in terms of how people relate to one and look out for another. I'd never want to live anywhere else.

Great video. I graduated Northport 1961 and went to HS with Peter P. owner of the Sweet Shop and George Dahl, the Mayor. Caught a lot of snappers on the dock and drank a lot of beer at Gunthers. Great place to grow up and miss Northport and the good old days.

Great,...I grew up in Northport, graduating Norhtport High 1959. Pete Panarites (Sweet Shop) was in my class. Kerouac was not the only famous resident. Dom DeLouise lived in the house that Bill Brown lived in for years. Jackie Gleason and Rube Goldberg lived on Asharoken in the 50's, 60's.

The great thing about Northport is, no matter how many shops come and go, it's always charming. I always brag that I grew up in idyllic Northport, the second Mayberry RFD, LOL! Thank you Northport for a great childhood.

What a nice clip to watch. We started spending our summers there in 59?& eventually moved to Northport. What a great life. I see some of old faces from yrs ago.. same face except more hair & wrinkles but everyone looks great. Jerry LoRusso

Nice vid. I am from Northport. Went to Northport HS 1988. I love Main St and the history of it. I used to catch snappers off the dock. I played for Northport Youth Center Soccer. My team was the Snappers. Jack Kerouac lived in Northport for 8 years. I live in L.A. now, and I know we have quite a few good actors from there. Northport Pride. I love running Cow Harbor. Organically yours is my favorite on Main. Go organic folks. Stay healthy! Be well. Much love from out west.
