I LOVE hummus sooooo much, especially the roasted red pepper hummus, on whole-wheat crackers with some ricotta cheese as well, but it's expensive to buy. I've been wanting to make my own, and now I know how :)
soo i went to your recipe and i didnt find it so i have to go to the effort to find another homemade recipe..i know how to make it after watching the video but you don't precisely say the quantity etc..

Yummy, I just made this hummus. For me it was really thick and didnt want to cream at all so I had an idea to add some water.. worked out perfectly, right away it was so creammy. I liked it not that thick, when I eat with pita bread. Thanks for this easy recipe, now I wont have to buy hummus anymore! :) One question - how long can it be stored in fridge?
I just subscribed to your channel this afternoon and have been watching your videos like an addict. You are amazing and I think you deserve your own show on TV. I am anxious to try this Hummus recipe but I couldn't find the recipe on your website. By the way, I must have been living under a rock because I have never thought of eating cucumber with Hummus.
hey laura im from israel in here hummus is somthing you can buy and it every where !! its the most knownd dish here !! i've never found a good and easy recipe for it!! thank you !!
Laura PLEASE help me :( everytime i make cake (i've tried about 10 times) the batter doesn't turn out right. The batter curdles, and the consistency is vomit-like. It tastes horrible (the cake once baked) and the tops are white, not golden. The only cake I tried was the vanilla one. I think i'm doing something wrong when i add sugar, eggs and butter together. what am i doing wrong? D:
@16tigerstripe maybe everything is not at room temperature..something like this happened to me also. i used cold eggs but after cooking it did not taste horrible it just became really dense and not very great...but i dnt knw m not an xpert lolz
My husband is a Lebanese and he is soooo fussy with his arabic food..its got to be to his liking and perfect so I had to keep on trying and trying until its approved. What I had learned and experienced is to add a little water like 2 tablespoon when processing the mixture and typically parsley is not used in traditional hummus. What you'll get is a creamy smooth hummus..some add a tiny bit of cumin powder too.. Garnish the hummus with drizzle of olive oil and decorate with paprika or sumac :)
@nickhasie also the chick peas need to be soaked overnight wit a bit of baking powder and then washed well and cooked until the chick peas r broken down this way we can make sure the hummus is nice and creamy not to forget not too much tahine bcoz it would be overpoweringly nutty otherwise.. its all about getting a good balance between the ingrediens...
@Missluv2cook I think you can but dont use a lot of it..try using half or 1 tablespoon bcos sesame oil is stronger than tahini..tahini is creamy but over time sesame oil do float on top of it..so maybe you can try ;)
just an advice, lay the hummus on a plate and put a tsp of hot chilli sauce and eat with some tortilla rap.. tastes GREAT. thumbs up so people can see
Hi, laura! My name is Kennedy and im 12 years old, but i love to cook! i really wish i had my own cooking show and everytiime i watch one of your videos i want to make them so badlyy! I LOVE all of your videos and i watch them ALL! One day, hopefully i can have my own cooking show. For the last month, on school nights ive been staying up watching your vids on my phone lol...please never stop making videos!!!
Usually we have humus w/ kababs or grills in general. And we usually make it smoother. Probably because the chickpeas used were harder than the ones we use? Anyway, try adding a couple of spoons of yogurt... yuuuuuum!!!
I too thought parsley was a bit of a deviation from the authentic hummus recipe. And you should make it without the canned stuff to really bring out the flavours.
From Israel - Laura, I usually love what you do, and you can call this hummus, but please, not 'perfect' hummus. First, pronounce it correctly. It makes me scream when I hear "hum-mus." It's hoo-moos or choo-moos. Second, tahini has to be added or you just have chickpea dip. Third, olive oil is optionally drizzled on top. Fourth, for 'perfect' hummus, you should use a few leaves of mint - No Parsely. Dedemed, on youtube make a great hummus.
@Bananabear20 No, you can make chili without the chili powder/chilis, but really, you're just making a stew. Same thing. Hummus without tahini is just a bean dip, which is fine, it's just not hummus.
@JessikaLevamentum I live way down in Mokpo, so I don't get up to Itaewon much. Occasionally we get chickpeas in Gwangju. But I just started a cooking show with things mostly found at Home Plus and on GMarket. Check it out! No hummus yet though...
I make mine similar except I've never tried putting fresh parsley in it. I'm going to have to try this! Anybody have a good recipe for red pepper hummus?
OH! so THIS is hummus. I always hear about it on v-logs, apparently people on the US eat it like crazy but didn't actually know what it was. It's funny 'cause here Chile people tend to think chickpeas are gross and boring to eat. But I'll give your recipe a try and see how it goes :)
@LauraVitalesKitchen laura i dont eat it cause im still a kid i dont like it but my parents do , and i'll do this for them by the way im from saudi arabia and i really love your show !
