Excellently played. Wish the video quality was better though. I just discovered this piece, but I don't think I'm at the point to play something like this yet. What type of DP are you using? It sounds wonderful.
I hope you are continuing with your piano studies. You have a genuine feeling for music. Your beautiful playing of this piece will inspire others to play the piano.
If I remember it correctly then Ravel's choice of a name for this piece was somewhat arbitrary. It's a nice title, but to me it doesn't depict death, but rather rebirth! :)
great rendering of a work Ravel warned of caution in over sentimenal approach. infact you do this justice in giving that modern touch he so wanted and in a way this makes it more beutiful. must here u on a grand.
not touch. approach. basically if you think from almost clock work accompaniment . with out over rubato. then it unfolds naturally and in a less pulled way. That s what Ravel wanted. so the whole can be viewed not just asan over indulgent melody. you have it done perfectly. and it makes it more sweet. which is ironicc
Oh I see. That resonates with how I imagine this piece. It is indeed so sweet and yet so detached and untroubled! Ravel wrote this in his early 20's...pretty good, ah?
A famous composition by Ravel, also I believe exists in an Orchestral version. you've handled it very nicely here! You are getting some nice 'feeling' into your playing. Careful rubato style too. Well done indeed. Best wishes, Jonathan
I've just favourited your wonderful flute sonata as well. I should have done that on first hearing it. You know you are more than a favourite. You are respected and admired! Back to the Pavane - your performance is so poised and beautifully conceived. Ravel would approve! I am very proud of you!
Do I have the sheet music?
