  • loony tunes production on every level.

  • One word review...AMAZING!

  • Just a chick with a sheet over her? Come on!

  • Ingenius music - gives me goosebumps every single time

  • I rather don't like this portrayal of Erda. She looks too much like an Irish Banshee. Which is to say, a witch. But Erda was not a witch. The images don't match. I may be wrong. I welcome any contrary opinions.

  • @ytdsgdjgfueyxn537

I completely understand what you say - but she is the Mother of All - she knows Past, Present, Future.

Her face must not be shown I agree with that

How would you picture her in your mind?

  • Yes, opera lovers we now have to look forward to Wotan being a corrupt businessman, Brunnhilde a vamp/motercycle queen, Freye a quarrelsome hausfrau. Now you honestly tell me: Would Richard WAgner be happy of what has happened to his mythic tetrology?? All together: "NEIN"

  • She's supposed to be an earth goddess--and here she looks like a street walker/bag lady (yes)--typical of Chereau to reduce ancient archetypes into trash. I'm not surprised--he's from France and doesn't understand German/Nordic mythology. He certainly never read of R. Wagner's stage diretions for his mammoth tetralogy. The wonder is that Wolfgang Wagner (Wagner's grandson) allowed Chereau carte blanche with this ideot--stripped--of magic production!!

  • I worship this scene :)

She looks like she needs extermination by Dean Winchester :p

  • Love this. I did not like Wagner a year ago, now I find him so irresistible

  • Bag lady? did you see the same Erda in Act III Siegfried? Amazing interpretation of the role.....

  • I'll take a bag lady like that any street.

  • quelle émotion!!!!

    tout en symboles!

  • Alles was ist, endet.

  • Wagner is a Genius

  • @cyclonesupercell Alas, he only WAS...

  • My favorite part of Das Rheingold. Such a warning to us all; unless we become more kind to Mother Earth we are all doomed.

I love this part of the Ring Cycle.

  • @magpieonjupiter you are right. the opera really is metaphor--and this is the biggest one.

  • Wow this is nice!

  • wie alles war, weiss ich
