Flatpicking in the strictest sense is not just using a flatpick to strum with. It is picking out the melody and sometimes encasing the melody in the chord structure at the same time, like the Carter method. Another style of flatpicking is cross-picking, which picks the melody, but also picks strings around it in between the melody in the chord form. Hard to describe without an example. And yes, some people don't know how to use a flatpick...some fingerpickers, for example.
Well, Mabe I am tone death but I could not tell the difference between any of the guitars,I have a Larrivee D05e and thought I would trade it for maybe a martin or something else as I find it hard to play but maybe I just need a set up as I have never had one and I bought the guitar used.
I would definitely get a set-up on your Larrivee D-05E before you think of selling it. You owe it to such a nice guitar to at least give it a chance by a good set-up. Most (95%) of guitars will need a set-up either initially or later on during its life.
larrivee is the best there it just get better with the age its nice for all styles , parlor guitar just finger picking.larrivee its too loud of all of this and eazy to play like butter .
i just love it , the way you get it all flowing together makes it sound great ,, im trying the riffs right now but i just cant get the speed and let ik flow together ,, but thanks for the A chord anyway :D
oooh can you post me the chords from the first medley your playing pleas its so cool i got a ARIA AW -20 ce semi acoustic i wonder how he sound with this
If I did it for that reason, that would be a good idea. Actually, I made the video long before I thought I would be selling it. Was made just to see how it sounds "out there".
The Kodak is model # DX 6490. It does a surprisingly good audio recording job. Better than I expected by a long shot.
Thanks for your kind comments on my picking. I sure love your picking and singing, along with your wife. Wish I lived near you so I could pick and sing with you. I have a feeling we'd get along like brothers as we seem to like alot of the same type of music, Religious and secular.
Yeah, Florida is quite a drive from here, but it would be fun if you did live closer. I do get together with some pickers around here, but most of them are quite a bit older and limited to old Carter style picking which is just fine with me, but I would like to be a little more challenged sometimes.
nice guitar!! With a very nice sound. How much did you bought it for? :)

Hey i've been watching some of your videos and i love that piece you always play in the beginning. What is it called?
thelaststop58 4 years ago
The very first song, believe it or not, is the chords to a scripture song that my Pastor's wife wrote the melody for...it is Psalms 9:1,2. (NKJV)

This guitar sounds really good, too. Which Kodak camera do you use? Great job on Leaning on the Everlasting Arms!

I love the sound of that guitar. Do you think it sounds better than your Taylor, Martin guitars? Do you know where I can purchase an Aria AD-80
Bubbleb1 5 years ago
I wouldn't say it sounds better, no. Just different.
Check Ebay...they are a couple of AD-80's for sale. I may possible sell mine as well if you're interested.
Thanks for your comments.
