CT Special Forces Series Review - Part 1

I always avoided 3D titles on the playstation1. They never looked good to me. Polygons too wobbly, unlike the smooth n64. I like special forces on the psone for the very reason that it is 2D and good 2D at that. Is part 2 of this youtube review available now?

Hey dude, this seems a little odd for the present day and age, but could you get the first game's credit's soundtrack for GBA for me? I can't find it anywhere, but It's been bothering me for months!

After I saw this video earlier I said to myself I have to get this and so I went to my local eb games and bought the game for $1.12 for the GBA

@sgtalexdrummer CT Special Forces 1 on the PlayStation (PSone) is the only version that is 2player Co-Op like Metal Slug.

The 2 sequels sadly lacked this feature on the PSX.

The GBA version allowed a mini challenge mode where 2 players could link (using the cable) up and compete in a small setting but no co-op mode.

On the Advance the last Boss is unbeatable you cant deal damage yust with grenades and you cant store enough.

You must push the red barrels back to the boss with shots, using machine guns is a lot easier.

Do this until you break the shield and then shoot him like you did to any boss.

2 is the best I'm my opinion, it has more action and other things that makes the game less boring.

3 isn't so good.

You right there about the music. I have this game on Gameboy advance and PS1 I used to ply this game on Gameboy advance so much, but I don't really play the game any more. but now what I do now is I use the PS1 CT special forces disk as a CD and just listen to the music. The music in this game is so catchy you're exactly right!!!!

i know. I only had to defuse one bomb and when i rolled i fell throught the ground. so i had to restartr the whole level again. :P

:P lmao. Yeah the game is pretty tough. do u like the metal slug series? I am collecting the whole series. I have from 1-4 right now including X and thats it. But im gonna get #5 soon. Right now im into the Ratchet and clank series though.

Ratchet and Clank was really never on my mind all too much.

I find furry animals with guns way too childish for me (No offense).

I'm more of a Call of Duty person :D

Yeah their good games.

I understand it is kinda childish but i started playing them when i was young and the characters and gameplay stuck to me. I dont even care i love the games. But if i started it at this age i probobly would have thought the same. But thats pretty much the only game i will make an exception for that is really cartoony. :P Insomniac makes good games. Thats also why i ike ratchet and clank. Ever played resistance fall of man or 2? they are great games.

I love this series of games - very like Metal Slug with a little more strategy and variety.

The BEST version is CT Special Forces 1 on the Sony PS1 because you can have 2 player co-operative gameplay.

All other versions (PS1 & GBA) are essentially 1 player games although with a GBA link cable 2 players can compete against each other in "mini-games".

Yes the 2nd & 3rd are equal if not better in content but the 2 player Co-operative mode in the 1st one (PSX version only!) made for lots of fun with my buddy and we were disappointed when the sequal was released without the 2 player option.

a tip on the jungle if u see hose shooters on a platform tri tho stand so that if you shout up u will hit hiss richt leg so u can shoyt and wont get hitt

I used to have Nemesis Strike... lol not that good but it was better than expected. It had loads of variety, cool guns and nice physics but poor AI and boring level design.

i've played 1 and 2 and it took a day on each very easy really,i played the 3rd on the gba and it is a bit harder i want to play it on ps1 as ive played the other 2 on there but cant find it anywhere to buy.

It was released on the gba as thats where I played it...it's called ct special forces bioterror. Download the rom from dgemu.

Played on my pc using visualboyadvance emulator, but there are original copies available if you don't like emulators and rom downloading. I would go for the ps1 version though as the ps1 versions feel better due to the pads and graphics.

Part 2 will be out when I finish playing the 3rd game in the series. It's hard, so, you'll have to wait a little more. I'm also working on other projects, but, don't worry - it'll be out soon.
