  • Search the 3-part film "bbc.the.genius.of.beethoven" here on Youtube, easily the best filmed biography of Beethoven. You won't regret it.

  • The ability to travel to the moon insignificant to the brilliance of Beethoven.

  • uuuummmm.... how could they relate the second movement of the ninth symphony to hell?

  • its funny that the background music is mozart's symphony concertante (1:00-3:00)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this terrific documentary with all of us.

  • .."the unmanageable hair..."

  • Simply the best! My favorite is his 3rd movement featuring Itzhak Perlman as the violinist. I am very honored to share the same birthday as Beethoven and whenever it arrives i say a 'Happy Birthday' to him every year! I'm a big believer in astrology and cosmology and feel we share many common characteristics, but i am no music GENIUS :( excellent documentary!

  • @TEAMCANADA1 hahahahha..... dumbass.

  • Whoo! Piano Concerto No. 1, third movement! God, I love that piece..

  • Beethoven and Mozart... Curse the fates!

  • beautiful.

  • wonderful documentary of the greatest composer of all time!

  • what is the name of the symphony 13.41 its sounds so s god like

  • 1st movement, 3th symphony (Eroica).

  • thank u so much ^^

  • Special

  • What piece is played at 4:00?

  • somthing in D minor :-/

  • I found it a while ago. Beethoven Piano Sonata #7 Op. 10 No. 3 in D Major. This one is the 2nd movement and yes, it is in d minor :]

  • It would make my day if i knew the symphony that is played at 1:05, i assume it is 4 or 7 because i dont know these symphonies jet.

  • It's actually Mozart's Concertante in e flat for violin and viola. I don't know why they're playing it in a Beethoven documentary

  • Thanks, thats a very nice piece of music. Maybe they played it because Mozart is mentioned as Beethoven's idol.

  • @ProtoCosmos He said in the beginning: "Schubert etc, not to mention his (Beethoven's) own ideal, Mozart, with whom he so much wanted to study."

  • @2009xellos

Yep, you're right. And I need to pay more attention, eh? :)

  • Ohh the 7-th will not only make your day.....

  • symphony 2th movement , is a beauty

  • Truly one of the finest pieces of music ever written. It's darkness and sadness is overlain by beauty. Truly my favorite symphony by Beethoven. My favorite recording is one by Walter Weller and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra because it is slow and you feel the emotion even more.

  • @LifeJuice90 which symphony? The Pastoral or no?

  • @LifeJuice90 no you are wrong. Toscanini is the best.

  • @maxbaguet124 The one that's played at 1:05? It's actually the 1st movement of Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra K.364. The 2nd movement is very melancholic.

  • Can you please name all the symphonies in all three parts OH THAT WOULD MAKE MY LIFE

  • You can listen to every beethoven symphony here on youtube.. just write "Beethoven Symphony" !!

There are some great interpretations by Von Karajan

    :)

  • @matt18matt18 Lier. Karajan is an ass. Comparable to Trevor Pinnock and that other ass Sir Neville Marriner. Toscanini is the best.

  • @tofuhead don't listen matt18 Toscanini is the best.
