  • I am sure there are huge massive dents in fenders on landing

  • 0:14 - Whoa, those wheels look like they're pointing in all kinds of different directions after the impact.

  • i don't think this charger got destroyed because if it did the wheel axle would be bent from the front view

  • You know when in the old days in the movie buisness, they didn't have TGI in those days. But if they ever decided to revive the old show, i hope they use TGI when they do a scene where the General jumps. that comes to show you that computers are'nt always a bad thing. TGI could save a 69 charger from being destroyed! Like if you agree

  • @tombstone5860 WTF is "TGI"? Maybe CGI...computer-generated imagery? btw, they made 89,200 chargers in '69. It isn't exactly a rare car.

  • @joe25794 Well, yeah but you still gotta consider the fact that it was over 40 years ago. Parts wear out and some may be in some accident beyond repair. I'm simply saying that modern day technology can be good to perserve vintage cars for the next generation. It'll be cool if Warner Bros decided to make it a show again, and I woul'nt mind if they used CGI. srry bout TGI thing, it was a typo.

  • how could this movie making assholes just use and abuse a 1969 dodge charger like that, an just through it in the junk yard like its nothing? seriously this is horse shit

  • yeah id want it to be true to the old show the new movie was ok but it werent real dukes of hazzard you know

  • @MrTransamcamaro Alot of people hate Johnny Knoxville, I personally think he's pretty cool shit. But the movie sucked, only good see the General moving again, and lots of boobies. Now I sound white trash, fack.

  • true... true... i love this car. it's true that 69 charger have 5.7 hemi or 7.2 hemi? i know only 5.7 engine version of General lee

  • @oKRZEMo they can be both the autehtics are 5.7 s the 7.2 is the ones they used to jump for scenes and such

  • @oKRZEMo The original General Lee is said to have been a 440 Magnum, 727 Automatic car, so it would have been a 7.2Litre. They were not a HEMI engine however. Just a regular flat piston engine.

  • @DodgeMan360 HEMI refers to the cylinder heads. They're hemispherical, hence the HEMI name.

  • @violentmetalhead Thats what I was explaining. The piston heads are dome shaped aswell.

  • @DodgeMan360 Wording was odd. Hence my comment.

  • @violentmetalhead I was just saying that the 440 was a flat piston motor, not a HEMI.

  • @oKRZEMo 426 ci. (7 litre) Street Hemi and 440 ci. (7,2 litre) Magnum were the biggest available engines.

  • And this is why the 69 Dodge is such a rare car.

  • @VinnyMartello detriot made less due to the new look it wasnt consumer wantings than the 1970

  • its because they have the back of the car weighted... so it holds the nose up... take those weights off and it will nosedive just like everything else

  • Those 321 (R.I.P) cars are the cause of why I want a Charger today !

  • how come this car lands perfect and when mythbusters tried it failed?

  • @StrongOneX Because this ramp is straight, and longer than the vehicle. short ramps, curved ramps, and drivers who panic and hit the brakes at the last second are the reason many jumps end in a nose dive.

  • @StrongOneX

Maybe Mythbusters didn't put enough weight in the trunk as ballast.

  • Great vid! Subbed! Sub back? =D!

  • No...nearly 400 (mixed 68-69 cars) were used. I have a 69 and met the actors....a buddy of mine bought one from Warner bros. Any questions....as this is THE biggest movie car!

  • @chargalant it is the most recongnized movie car, which is why it made me mad when dodge released the new "charger" and it was a 4 door pos that looks nothing like the original. unlike the awesome challenger that was only in a few movies, and it's modern version is very accurate to the 60s model

  • @LostNbound 70s, No Challenger was made in the 60s, Just a side note, no harm

  • @LostNbound Chrysler (Dodge) designers know what they're doing....they just now (2011) used styling cues from the 69/70 Charger's tailights (bowtie/cat's eye) albeit LED and added a "side-spear/scoop" that pays homage to the "waste-gate" scoops on the doors of the 2nd gen car.

As for the Challenger...there's talk of dropping it due to poor sales compared to the Camaro/Mustang. (For-the-record....Chrysler has always been #3). But....if they intro a convertible, it'll bring more into showrooms.

  • Fugg these crackers

  • (loud buzz) survey says 600 ive followed the show since 83 84 i am a lover of both mopar and gm sports coupes would'a'been general lee fan #12 if i didnt lose the club letter i was to send back!!!

  • (loud buzz) survey says 600 ive followed the show since 83 84 i am orangs i love mopar and gm sports coupes general lee fan #12 if i didnt lose the club letter i was to send back!!!

  • Different sources list different numbers, but none of the estimates on the cars destroyed on the show are over 329 and many were 68s configured to look like 69s so, in actuality, not THAT many when you consider the total number of Chargers that Dodge manufactured.

  • maaaannn as much as i love this show, its sad to see those beautiful chargers destroyed

  • @CBRHurricane6 must have gone thru 20+

  • @OnlyAKnife they killed HUNDREDS of chargers in this series, some 68's mocked to look 69, couple 70's to i hear, pretty sad, but i still love seeing a roaring general

  • @CBRHurricane6 no kiddin, i wish the gas prices werent so dang high so when i get my car i could just keep the pedal to medal

  • @OnlyAKnife i hear ya there, i had my iroc when prices around us were damn near $5 a gallon....she was a TPI one that got sweetened up some...passed ANYTHING but a gas station LOL

  • @CBRHurricane6 i hear ya, my dad had about 3 of those at one time XD gas was only 2$ a gallon back then

  • 5***** 0:08 : ) Yahooooooo

    From Brazil.

  • We miss ya General. Thumbs up if ya want a new movie/game.

  • Great clip from a classic stunt!

  • probably took awhile to build that car and then * boom* destroyed lol

  • YEE-HAAAAAA!!

  • uh that hurts

  • isnt that from stuntman ignition the intro>?

  • gl;dkjgsdfl;'g

  • @kill2liveman yeah ment to say general lee is sooo aewsome!!!!so sad theres no more!

  • A charger can do that and still run like a beast...Charger for life!!

  • @SephirothWish pretty sure that wasnt runnin like a beast afterwards homie... it got trashed

  • To see him fly is nice in the old films, not fucken now I'm trying to buy one....

  • I saw that movie. It wud perrty gude.

  • This car should easily get put back together. It actually landed in one piece without a wheel coming off, and even them cars get rebuilt.

  • @the934x4

I've seen the General Lee do harder landings, but despite its unibody design (superior for the time) the rear quarterpanel still buckled on impact. The car was probably only good for parts after that jump.

  • Oh man wish I could of drove that car for that stunt. BOOYAH!!

  • I wanna get orange plastics for my 4-wheeler, and a confederate seat so i can do this and ride away

  • 0:09 "them duke boys better grow a pare of wings."

  • well theres your problem right there that dun dur car aint got no suspension for type of dun dur jumpen

  • think it bottomed out?

  • That'll buff out, definately.

  • i think the silver car didnt realize he had the dukes of hazard jumping through his neighborhood

  • The national Dodge Charger/Mopar registry has the official documentation on how many Chargers were used by Warner Brothers for the show. If you want to call them up to end the argument you can do that.

  • @1olrocker it was 12

and they had 1 that was never used for stunts there was a sever shortage of chargers at that time so 12 was all they could get they would tune em fix em and reuse jump footage show to show

  • @hardwirecars - what was 12?

The official number of chargers used for the TV show was between 300-330. Everyone seems to have a slightly different number, but the National Dodge Charger/Mopar registry has all the documented info if you need to double check. And fix and reuse? Are you kidding? 90% of the stunts they did with those cars resulted in flexed/cracked frame rails and complete chassis distortion.

  • @1olrocker 310 to be exact

  • @DeWina512 310 watch the Dukes of Hazzard BBQ on season 1. Ben Jones saID IT

  • @generalleegoku i think u might mislistened

  • @hardwirecars im just telling you what bo duke said in an interveiw when he played the dad on smallviel

  • 321 for the show

  • Looked bigger on the movie

  • it got fucked up a lil bit at the landing, but nothing too serious....

  • @DarksonDAP

ok go to dodge charger dot com and see how hard these things are to fix

  • @earniemanson i will,but i thought not that much...

  • too bad 322 were destroyer on the movie.. :( R.I.P my loveley charger's )

  • @kenzocs ok there were no that many destroyed in the movie. it was like 35 and they were all kitt cars

  • this car was used in the crappy dukes of hazzard movie. Read where the car was so twisted and beyond repair, they used it for parts on other cars. They cut it up and used it for a camera car. Front was cut off as well as the back. Warner brothers owned the car. It was on sale on ebay and sold for I don't remember, but it was past $40,000

  • that looked like it was from 'hazzard in hollywood" the 2nd tv movie after he series

  • I HATE THE DUKES OF HAZZARD..... any TV show destroying that many classic cars is my enemy.... plus its stupid redneck shit

  • @ticktock422 you sir get a thumbs down

  • @wheeler8801 i dislike that comment too glad someone else feels the same way lol

  • @ticktock422: I totally agree. The Charger is my favorite car in history and I have been on the hunt for the right one for years. I lost count of the number of times I have looked at a Charger that was painted orange with a 01 on the side. Plus, God only knows how many Chargers have been destroyed over the years between the tv show, the movies and all the retarded redneck trying to live out scenes from the show. The Dukes of Hazzard is the WORST thing that ever happened to the Charger!

  • @BOBSEZWUT guy Waldron said the chargers they used in the show for the jumps were in bad shape. Lots of them came from junkyards and had to have parts installed on them. He said one car had to have 4x4 brace to hold up the engine. Even if the dukes didn't exist I am sure the cars would've been gone for good. Maybe out of the 310 a couple would be here. Hard to say. I agree with you on the rednecks trying to live out the scenes from the show.

  • land another one bites the dust..

  • They may have been able to fix that car enough to use it in another stunt, she didn't look too hurt from it.

  • @geterdonein01 Jump your car airbourne 2 feet off the ground at that speed and send me a message what the cost was for suspension, oil pan, and soo on

  • @Brainiac83 I think after such a jump, the whole chassis is distorted and bent.

  • aaaannd FUCKED.

  • that idiots wrong. theres 17 left. MY grandpa owns the pioneer auto auction in murdow. he has one

  • @HBMAN665420 17 what left? original general lees?

  • @msbaugh440 yeah, there are only 17 original general lees left. all others are clones, or were destroyed in the series. this is hbman665420, just different profile.

  • Too much weight in the trunk, with a bit less she would have landed on her four feet.

  • its around 600 they used for the tv show.

and coy and vance sucked on that TV show

  • they didn't use 600 chargers on the show. Ben jones said 315 were the exact. 15 chargers were left when the show ended. Now collectors have them. Don't blame coy and vance cuz they sucked. They were okay. Tom wopat sucks. Dumb ego problem he has.

  • @sandman101 what?? they dumped 600 chargers?! :o

man, i could kill for that....

  • @TomeeDee86 There were over 80,000 made in 68 and probably 40 thousand made in 69... At the time of the TV show they had plenty to waste... I cant beleive people are still jumping them at shows!!! STUPID.

  • @Albee213 you got it, man!

    such a great car!!...

  • @TomeeDee86 they destroyed 310 chargers on the filming of the dukes of hazzard,68 and 69, anyone who thinks they used 70 chargers r idiots

  • @generalleegoku i know :) this series is famous of the 69 charger...

  • @sandman101 on youtube it said they used around 368

  • @sandman101 more like 309

  • @Timster480 310 chargers my friend

  • @generalleegoku lol...close enough XD

  • @sandman101 actually it was 310 to be exact

  • @sandman101 : 321

  • @sandman101 Coy and Vance did suck....

if you're talking about Dodge Monaco police cruisers, you're right, about 600... if you're talking about Chargers, you're wrong.... it was over 300... Ben Jones (Cooter Davenport) will tell you it was 309 or 319 can't remember, but John Schneider (Bo Duke) says it was 329 exactly.

  • @sandman101 but i do believe the common number is 309

  • @sandman101 it wasnt 600 it was 321 i think

  • @MrTransamcamaro Ya, it was more or less 310-325.

  • @MrSonyDelight way too many on my account

  • @MrTransamcamaro it was 309

  • @TheJdc34life its 321 and 16 or 17 are left today if you watch the stars interview right b4 the 05 film came out and they say it in there

  • @MrTransamcamaro really? i always heard ben jones say it was 309

  • @TheJdc34life ive been doin research some say 309 some say 321 ive even seen some say 256 but the point is they destroyed WAY too many lol

  • @MrTransamcamaro yeah true that, but hey it made for great television.

  • @TheJdc34life true very true

  • @MrTransamcamaro part of me wonders if this show would work by today's standards

  • @TheJdc34life it would man no contest

  • @MrTransamcamaro if we (fans) could only get the ball rollin', maybe john schneider could play and older version of bo, or play the new uncle jesse

  • @TheJdc34life thatd be awesome

  • @MrTransamcamaro no doubt dude

  • @TheJdc34life who do you think would be the perfect bo and luke nowadays

  • @MrTransamcamaro if it we're me i'd do a casting call, and find two unknowns.

  • @sandman101 it was only like 300 actually, and yes coy and vance did suck

  • @sandman101

600? What the hell, they used about somewhere over 300.

  • @sandman101 it was 300 not 600 buddy

  • @sandman101 it was morethan 300 not 600

  • @sandman101 321 were used.

  • @sandman101 get your facts straight; the TV show used 309 cars during the production between 1978 to 1985. That is a direct quote from Ben Jones a.k.a. Cooter Davenport himself... but I wouldn't expect some young pup to know when they think that Jessica Simpson and the rest of those retarded actors could ever replace the legendary cast of the original TV show that has become to be in the hearts of a generation before you clods were a spark in yo drunken momma's eye at a nirvana concert!

  • @Lwatson57 i agree prego wasnt s-h-i-t compared to catherine beach

  • Put the FLAG back on top of the car.

    For crying out loud.

  • which dukes of hazzard movie was that in?

  • i met coy duke and he said that they went through 300 to 400 cars making the first dukes of hazzard movie ASOME

  • I think Coy meant the TV show. I'd love to meet him, Vance, or Sheriff Little. (I want to get 2007 Movie Decepticon Barricade painted in Chickasaw County colors!)

The Jessica Simpson movie went through about 15, even though they secured even more.

That means they went through about 2-4 cars per episode, not including the non-stunt "model", used for short drives and close ups.

  • ahhh the good ole general lee, ever since that show i've always wanted one. not to worry about the chargers they ruined, a lot of people have bought them and restored them back to the origonal general and some even left them wrecked due to it was used in the actual show and they don't want to change that, either way these cars were not ruined in any way.

  • yeeeeeeehaaaaaaw awesome last jump of the GENERAL LEE!

  • man they ruined a lot of chargers =(

  • i know its ashamed

  • teh movie rules.

  • That was probably one of the best landings ever. Usually, it's a nose dive when you jump a car. Judging by the excellent landing, this was a very well executed jump. Kudos to the driver.

  • @mikeferr107 is you see ho fast the back end dropped that should be a clue. they would put lead weights in the trunk so when the vehicle was in the air , the back end would come down faster than the front. if they did not put weights in the trunk the car would hit nose first and more often the car would flip if it was high enough in the air for gravity to take over. one of the better versions of the landings ive seen here.

  • @marctronixx

absolutely correct. They put 600lb of weight in the trunk on average!

  • @marctronixx the weights in the trunk area was for to bounce the car out while in the air. It was used to counter bounce the engine weight that was in the front. Not to make it land on it's back faster.

  • @moparlover80 yes sir i know this,. perhaps i didnt word my post well. had they NOT put the weights in the back the car would have possibly flipped over due to the weight of the engine and the lightweight rear. thank you for keeping me honest mopar.

  • good ol boys....never meanin no harm.....

  • Beats all you never saw, been in trouble with the law since the day they was born.

  • They destroyed every General Lee they did a jump in.They used like 2 cars per episode and the movie took like 12

  • way more then 12 try over 60

  • close enough

  • oh yeah12 and 60 are hella close

  • its a only a difference of 48

  • yeah that aint nuffin=P

  • back when they made the series they weren't to expensive

  • Do you have any clue as to what 60 1969 Chargers would sell for? They used less than 12 for the movie you fuckin tool!

  • I wonder how many they used for the TV show (1979-1985)?

  • I've never heard exact numbers but it's up around 300.

  • 657 or something

  • its the camra thats y

  • the color is off on the car it looks like a knockoff

  • i dont thank it totald it

  • @lawnmaster111 it coulda bent the frame

  • sad probley to sit some ware for years and rot away

  • do you know what is teh song ?
