  • damn asians are good... lol jk.

  • Nice! I would go in there looking like a maintenance crew with a drywall saw and trash bags and take the Hulk and Iron Man drawings home with me!!

  • Leinil Yu is from the Philippines.

  • leinil yu is the best comics book artist nowadays

  • gooosshh... i'm always so jealous of their skills. They make every line count and perfect and awesome.... gwwaaarrrrhhhhgggg....

  • Again, Marvel is a true, big American company. Outsourcing its talent, to the point of American artist being passed over for work.

  • That would be true except they don't pass on the work because they save any money.

The rate is the same no matter if the artist lives in Europe like Bianchi or Asia like Yu or an artist living in the States.

  • mad2000, outsourcing is outsourcing. I never said anything about pay rate. Although, I don't think that the European artist will fail to "negotiate" his pay rate as his popularity goes up. The bottom line is, less American comic jobs for Americans. Other countries are not as easily accepting of "foreign" talents, as America is. Though I have personally found some work outside of the U.S. Of course, the money is not as good.

  • @orenjiotoku I totally agree with you, not to take away from these artist's talents at all but this just shows ya how the good ol america has become the outsourcing whore of the world and yet we wonder why there's a huge defeicit in this country lol. The only way to make any head way is to do everything yourself because companies will always screw people when it comes to money.

  • you have no idea what you are talking about

  • Nick, I've been working, professionally, in the comic industry for 7 years now. And in half of those years I've worked for a European comic company. There is a huge influx of Eurpopean artists working largely for Marvel. Its more attractive for the guys hiring. More exotic. Its not that they have better art. (though alot of them are very good). Its kind of discouraging for an American who is trying to get work IN America.

  • @orenjiotoku lol true, but none of those euro dudes can top Frazetta, Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, or David Finch for that matter!!!!!!!

  • @orenjiotoku who are these good american artists youre talking about? i see ALOT of crappy americans getting hired by marvel...for instance dave finch and steve mcniven and david mack greg land, yu and bianchi could draw circles around them.

  • @mittROMNEY666 The good American artists are the ones getting passes over for work at Marvel. I've watched very talented artists get rejected by one IDIOT editor after another - and not because of the quality of their work - but because they're personal (physical) look wasn't "chic" enough. Have you met any of the Marvel editors? Yu is good, but his mannequin looking people get tedious after a while. Bianchi is a good illustrator, not a comic artist. Page artists are in the trenches.

  • @orenjiotoku I havent met them, but I can take your word for it that they are idiots - its no surprise that they are shallow business types with no creative sense, considering the corporate nature of marvel. on the other hand, bianchi may be hip- looking but yu certainly isnt. Then again, Yu has been around for ages so things may have been different. I think his work has fallen off somewhat / gotten sloppy since his heydey circa 2000 but he is still perhaps the best draftsman in comics imo

  • Young Guns Reloaded! Nice Sketch Dudes!

  • Lenil Yu was already a favorite of mine from the new avengers stuff he does, but Simone Bianchi is now one of my favorites, he should do some avengers stuff too! both artists are quite individualistic and both have a certain style. Those drawings looked great next to each other!

  • Nice ^_^

  • Palm es uno de los mejores restaurantes!!! Delicioso

  • I draw in the bathroom stall at the Palm.

  • hahahha everybody can do that! hahah gud one dude!
