  • hi clare

i liked your lesson on reggae. would you mind helping me out on how jason mraz plays his song I'm yours?

  • beautiful locks sis !

  • you are awsome you taught me my daughters fav song 3 little birds! i love you!

  • Is your dog dead? :-)

  • Crispy bites... great, now I'm hungry.

  • helpful lesson

  • que pedo no maames que eres hombre o mujer we no jodas a la veergaa

  • good job. The only thing to add is when you muthe the strings with the left hand you must still play the down stroke for the dead sound. So you are really playing the stoke up and down on the right. It is the mute/un-mute on the left that gives the ska upbeat.

  • you're awsome!!!

  • The moment I heard your voice, I wanted to hug you... O.o

  • Can i buy some weed from you?

  • I LOVE IT

    MANY THANKS

  • could any one please help me out?

I'm looking for a guitar which is really well able to be playing hardcore punk (the old school so bad brains, murphy's law, MDC like instead of the newer stuff) together with ska.

I really would like to know I already thought about the Jackson SL3 soloist. With the seymour duncan JB in the bridge and two hot rails in the neck and middle.

    Thanks for your opinion

  • u must sing more! i really like it :)

  • Thanks!!!!!!!!!

  • can you tell me the differance in ska?

the only realization i came to is its raggae played much faster. but i could be wrong.. id like to get this. please help

  • i think you've got it backwards.. ska is usually like punk + reggae. and thus faster. reggae is usually chill, and by jamaicans (ska is usually punk white guys, hahah)

  • @NovemberSierra1 yeah, i dont know what i was typing.. i did know ska was faster. my apologies

  • @NovemberSierra1 ska is not always ska-punk, 1st wave ska came before reggae, then 2-tone combined ska with rock, then in the 90s ska-punk arrived. then there was skacore, founded by the mighty mighty bosstones, and the rx bandits invented progressive ska, but then the bandits switched the ska part to reggae, and in their latest album play only progressive rock. reggae came after ska around the sixties, and is different in that its slower tempo and usually less brass, and has more percussion.

  • @canthinkverywell

well... hahah. looks like we learn everyday.

  • What the fuck is that?

  • kinda offtopic but can some one tell me if the fender bullet squire will sound good for skapunk?

  • RASPECT!!!

  • HAHA nice one!

  • thnx for the lesson 88888)

  • Good guide. Never played like this before but worked out immediately.

  • best lesson ive had on the guitar so far. ur just an inspiratin

  • dude, stop doing drugs! Nah, just kidding. Good lesson bro

  • any1 knows if its harder to use ska wid a high action?

  • It a little harder on the left hand stamina wise with high action due to the constant relax/tense/relax/tense distance/effort having to be greater..

I prefer med/low action for sure.

  • very nice Clare

  • awesome vids! short but on the point, great to learn new rhythms, i hate figuring out rhythms so i dont do it, but you make it easy to learn new ones :) thanks alot!

haha, still, thanks and keep up the good work! =D

  • brilliant

  • Lol that's a song.

    (Fakin' Jamaican - Skankin' Pickle)

  • It's like I'm goin' through Reggae/Ska 101. I can't wait to go home and try this stuff out! I'm like Brian52363, I've been playing for a while...I don't know if he shares this technique with me, but I've been essentially programmed to play down strokes before anything else. It's the upstroke I needed. Gah! Anyway, thanks so much for the video lessons--you've been a blessing! -=80)

  • I love your lessons,I'v been playing over 30 years,I alway's liked reggae,but did'nt have the feel,thank's again,and keep jammin....

  • can you play anything by the expendables?

  • no I'm just checking out there tunes now on myspace, their great!

  • @ColombianBeast420

yesss i want to play sensimelia and Drift away so bad dude

  • Do you have any ideas for practicing because i always get confused on the strumming. im trying to learn the song "beer" by reel big fish a nd im struggling with the beggining. i dont know if you can help with that but any advice would be good. thanks.

  • Hi, just keep strumming and playing and eventually you will get where you want to be. Try keeping it simple and strumming the first part so that it is in time, the timing is the most important part of the playing as long as it's in time then you've cracked it! If you keep strumming then you should develop your own sound and technique, peace Clare :-)
