Try this:

Power the phone off.

Press and hold the BACK and HOME button.

While still holding BACK and HOME, tap the power button and follow the on screen instructions. If I recall it makes mention of a action button. The action button is the trackball (click it).

ok i just bought the htc hero from my friend ad i would like to know how do you restart the whole phone so everything starts from the beginning where theres nothing on it.someone please help
