  • Nasty, boomy, mic-distorted sweet grooves. Love it.

  • This is amazing ! (:

  • This Video is incredible. So many different sounds that you make fit together so well. Very inspiring. I love the fact that you have all these different bells, and things hanging all over the place and you utilize them so well, without over use. Alot of this gives it a very tribal African feel to me. Very nice.

You're a Murderous Player<-- i mean that in the best of ways. haha

  • ok.... at about 2:21 you do something with the butt of your stick..... and iv never seen that before.. excuse me for my noobish question but what did you do?

  • @emokid7775 No such thing as a noobish question my friend! Are you referring to when I slide the butt end of the stick on the high tom? #RepKindBeats

  • @kindbeats yeah thats it..... what is that because it sounded amazing

  • @emokid7775 When you hit the drum, you can alter the pitch and make a conga-like "wooh" sound by sliding your stick across the drum head while hitting the drum. You don't have to use the butt end of the stick, but I often do.

  • your website has a virus on it...

  • @MattMacKinnonDrums Damn it! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I will get that taken care of asap. Thanks again!

  • powerpuff girls theme ftw

  • ESTAS SON LAS TAROLAS IGNORANTES!

  • this is some grooovy ish! what is that "owl-looking" thing that sounds like a white-noise china? I love it.

  • @TopHatDrumming Thanks man! If you're referring to the smiley face looking thing, it's called a Meanie and is made by Hammerax cymbals. I love the way it sounds!

  • why would people dislike this?? i dont understand..

  • @ramtin1001 I'm with you on this, but then again I'm a little biased. ;)

  • @kindbeats lol keep up the good work anyways.. cheers

  • 1:42 Fucking Blew My Mind

  • i was expecting this to be stupid but thats a fresh ass beat

  • top shit

  • like it its diffrent .! not like the same old beat haha nicee.!

  • you do such a good job of channeling Billy Martin without mimicking him in this video.

  • @Lugak14 Thanks! Billy has been my mentor for over ten years, so he's been a HUGE influence on me.

  • Not my cup of tea but original for sure! Kudos

  • Very musical..I could listen to this a long time!

  • My brother for a white guy u sure got a lot of Latin based feels. i'm digging your playing and working my way thru every one of your vids- fantastic shit my friend..

  • @Cali35Latin Hahaha! Thanks so much man! I really appreciate the kind words and support!

  • wow dude. straight injection of amazing

  • dylan elise.....im just saying

  • @doley87 Dylan isn't my cup of tea, but he's a damn nasty drummer!

  • And, this is what I call BORN TALENT... Generally these type of lessons are not taught in any of the universities we have known for drums... You are a natural drummer and above all YOU TRIED TO BE YOURSELF... My Vote for You...

  • not fellin it buddy your wanna hear dave wackel before you post any more videos

  • @apr417 Umm...if everyone sounded like Dave Weckyl, Dave wouldn't be so special all of a sudden, now would he? That's like telling someone not to post anymore rock vids and just watch John Bonham forever. We as musicians should be trying to find our own voices on our instruments, not simply trying to live up to big names. If you don't dig my playing, that's cool, I can't change that. But personally, I don't like Weckyl's playing. The beautiful thing is I still respect him for what he does.

  • wow wow dont get offended there buddy.......Im not lookin for dave weckyl in you now......its all about gettin someones attention, as you said adapting you style of playing, sometime you get peoples attention sometime you dont...I believe a real bad ass drummer DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A STAR but will catch the attention of a person who might not even know about thing about a beat, Thats the naked truth.......wish you all the best.

  • @apr417 I only took offense because you told me to not post anymore videos before checking out another drummer. You might not have meant any offense by it, but that definitely comes across as an offensive remark. If you didn't mean it in a malicious way though, no sweat. We all love drums and that's what's important! :)

  • dude frikin AWSOME u mess't up on 0:10 but other then that it was good and it wasn't even that bad of a mess up u couldn't even tell

  • You have your own style. That puts you ahead of 99.9 percent of the players out there. Awesome stuff.

  • The 12 people that disliked this have no sense of beat

  • Spicy tasty groovy drummin'!

  • This is sick!!!

  • ah hell, thought I could drum some off rhythms. Guess its back to the drum room for me. Freakin unreal dude. Best I've ever heard in that style.

  • haha this is very interesting, it must take a lot of coordination and stuff

  • i love how dark your whole kit sounds!

  • Thumbs Up for the break beat at 1:50

  • Wow ; You're truly amazing.

  • You are a really good drummer. I think you could justify using some money to upgrade your set

  • Awesome work brutha. So original and different to a lot of the shite out there. Great to see.

  • I like how it sounds you are very special, congratulations

  • how many hour a day u play if i may ask ?

  • @Cjthemetalangel I used to play for several hours a day, but these days I don't get to play nearly as much as I would like.

  • @kindbeats may I ask how long u bn playing ? you got some skill bro just cant get that what u do at 2:27 were u slide it.. pretty sick

  • @Cjthemetalangel Thanks man! I've been playing 17 years now and still learning every day! :)

  • To be frank! YOU NEED A MUCH BIGGER DRUM KIT, you are quite impressive, but the kit isn't giving the sounds that you can produce.

  • @not25yet -- Seriously? A man needs only the drum kit that does for him what he wants it to do. It's not up to any of us to decide what anyone else should be playing.

  • I hope you're creating drum loops, people would use the hell out of this. That'd be a good market for you at least.

  • @RetroElectroville Haha, thanks man. I actually do offer custom drum loops for those interested. Also, I have a free online mixtape series dedicated to all drum and percussion pieces entitled "Heavy In The Beats".

  • @kindbeats

Sweet! Keep up the good work.

  • Wow man,thats a really GREAT Drum groove! :)

Keep up that WICKED work man :)

  • That's awesome, dude. Keep up with the good work.

Just a silly question: doesn't your back kill you after playing like that?

  • @nervoso Thanks man. My throne is broken so that is why the seat height is so weird. New throne coming soon and I'll be back to the usual height.

  • 2.22-3.33- Super!!

  • dude is that a soner Kit? or yamaha

  • @zzxx123ish It's actually a nesting jazz kit made by Modern Drum Shop in NYC. Unfortunately, they closed their doors a few years ago. The bass drum is also a nesting bass drum but it is made by Drummers World, also located in NYC.

  • helll yeah dude keep that up

  • @SandmanZimm Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed and I think it's hilarious that I came up under "Freestyle Bathroom Drums". LOL

  • @kindbeats Lol. It's a cool video too

  • awesome

  • awesome is that a cow bell you were useing the start

  • @lockjaw699 thanks! it's an assortment of exhaust pipes and a cowbell that I had laying on the floor.

  • awesome

  • That beat at 2:22 is really something. I'd like to see a Kung Fu movie or a Western where two guys are staring each other down and that beat's playing in the background.

  • Great job Bro Congratulation!!!!

  • Ohhhhh yeah - that's it. Right there. Yep - and that. OOH!! That too. Hmmm - grooves.

  • These are some great drum beats, I'd love to throw down with you. I like your funky dubstep style in combo with all your tinking of the cowbells. Maybe someday you'll go big :)

  • your insane bro keep it up and youll be famous in no time

  • What kind of sticks are those? I know they're Pro-Mark but what model...?

  • @SamEdsall89 They're 7A's. I usually play wood tip Vater Manhattan 7A's, but when I was shooting these vids, I was using whatever I had lying around because I was broke as a joke! lol

  • I like what you do and share it on face book with my friends. Wish you the best. Merry Christmas!

  • @eosdelb thank you, and Merry Christmas to you too!

  • You sir, are a groove machine! Nice to see a fresh approach to drums/percussion.

Reminds me of Lanois' often used drummer.

  • very awesome indeed. Listening, seeing, and playing so much rock I love hearing different approaches to the kit then I'm accustomed to. Great groove. If you haven't heard of him already check out Benny Greb. I think you might enjoy his drumming.

  • mmm hes got some tasty grooves

  • BOOMYWANG

  • @AlexGoodwinDrums The Boomywang is amazing! Hammerax makes the most unique and durable cymbals and hybrids around! I recently became an official Hammerax artist and believe me, EVERY drummer and percussionist should check their stuff out.

  • Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Wow! haha Sounds sick dude! I'm diggin it!

  • Soooo good dude. You kinda sound like Billy Martin.

  • @DigaDupSuck Thanks! I'm actually a long time student and friend of Billy's. He has easily been my biggest influence to date! Thanks again man!

  • That be all kinds of funky hunky. I bet you you bang out a sweet beet with some clubs on my Hyundae! Nice ! Dig it!

  • Very creative and unique brotha , Love it !

  • You sir are A DRUMMER!

Those grooves are tasty and they feel good!!! I see you're using some hammerax cymbals!

  • @Moog168 hey man, thanks so much! I really appreciate you taking the time to leave me your thoughts. Also, good eye on the Hammerax cymbals! I'm actually an official endorser of their's and am flying to LA next week to record a bunch of videos for both them and The Drum Channel. Thanks again!

  • Nice ideas. Are those "carter beauford" signature series drum sticks you are using in the beginning?

  • @musictweaker thanks! I'm not sure what kind of sticks I was using in that first segment, but they definitely aren't Carter Beauford sticks.

  • looks like the most chill stoner hang out ever

  • awesome (:

  • So great man. I am a drummer too. I am after this kind of stuff. I try to pull this off but you got it down man. Love your style. Hope to learn some sweet beats off of you.

  • @buzzard236 thanks so much man! I will be putting up some new instructional groove vids soon so stay tuned!

  • So glad to see someone who doesn't sound like Dave Weckl! Drummers are so conservative and it's refreshing to see someone who has some other percussion on there kit. WTG

  • @TheReligionkills thanks! I appreciate the love and support!

  • cool man, i like the bells and melodies!

  • @erik346x thanks man! I'm glad you enjoyed!

  • i don't get it, how is he a different kind of drummer?

  • @SomeDrumKid239 Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, so I can't be upset with you for feeling differently than me. Personally, I strive to be as unique and creative as possible with my choices of sounds, phrasing, techniques, and use of melody. My belief is that every musician should try and discover and establish their own voice on their instrument. Again, if you don't agree that it's different, it's your opinion and you're entitled to it! I hope you at least enjoyed the drumming!

  • @kindbeats Not that I don't think you sound great - you play drums very well; but I agree with drumkid, I wouldn't really call it unique. It all sounds very familiar @.@ The title even comes off as a little pretentious >:\ Still, great drumming. I enjoyed it.

  • @kindbeats thanks for taking the time to check out the video and I'm glad you at least enjoyed it! like I said to @SomeDrumKid239, it's all a matter of personal opinion and I can't get angry with someone for disagreeing with me. I would love for the whole world to love what I do, but that's not the way things work and I understand that. Out of curiosity, I would appreciate it if you could name some drummers that you consider to be different or unique. It's all about discovering new things!

  • @SomeDrumKid239 hes not doin the same ole stuff other drummers are doin these days. For example- 5/6 time signature. Whod of thought of that?

  • ooooo K Constantinople ride

  • good stuff man. very cool vibe!

  • this is pretty epic like on a scale of one to ten id be like 11

  • sounds groovy dude!

  • yesssss!

  • Hahaha I like this, good job

  • Wow, love your style man. Kind of what I would probably sound like if I played more. Keep it up! Loved the drumnbass stuff you were doin around 2:00!

  • wow thats so damn groovy! nice nice

  • dude this is remarkable, love the differant sounds mixed with the kit. Its wild how low your snare is!

  • hahaha. tooooo sick bro.

  • you are great!

  • the drums always kicked the keytars ass.

  • Love this! Downloading the mixtape now- thanks so much!

  • @ComplainJane hey, thanks so much! the mixtape features myself and other upcoming drummers, as well as Billy Martin from Medeski Martin & Wood. Let me know what you think, and please spread the word! Thanks again!

  • that was really cool

  • Very good, thanks for sharing.

  • How do you play the hi-hat so quickly in the drum n bass section?

  • @TheGeetarPlayer I double up by alternating between the the tip of the stick and the butt end of the stick. It's just something I started doing a few years ago to be able to pull off more of that authentic drum n bass sound without using triggers, loops, or pads.

  • @kindbeats Thanks a lot. I'm going to try that. It sounds soooo cool on the drum set! I didn't even know it was possible haha

  • Good stuff man! Keep it up.

  • When I first clicked this, I thought it was a joke. Then when it progressed, I realized you're actually skillful and not just dicking around.

  • @Noahsebb88 no sir, I'm quite serious! I just try to find my own voice and sounds on the instrument. I know not all of it is for everyone, but I like to think I offer a bit of everything for everyone. Glad you enjoyed!

  • What I meant is, 1:43=drum n bass!

  • 1:43= speed techno!

  • NO WAY! You're using a Modern Drum shop kit?! Thats the same exact one I use on my gigs. I got a 18, 10 and a 14. This company has gone out of business sadly though.. Nice playing, reminds me of a mix of Chris Dave and Billy Martin

  • @chillidrum WOW! It's awesome to finally find another Modern Drum Shop player! My MDS is a 10" tom, 13" tom, and 15" kick. Sadly you are correct about them closing. Joe closed shop a few years ago and I ended up having to get my larger kick drum from Drummers World. Also, thanks so much for the kind words! I've actually been studying and playing with Billy for ten years now, but I never heard of Chris Dave. I will be sure to check him out! Thanks again!

  • 1:45 sounds like Jojo Mayer! I hear some Benny Greb too! AMAZING JOB man. Really impressed with your playing and your philosophy on the drums!

  • @Volentry thanks so much man! I had actually never even checked out Benny Grebb until last night on someone's recommendation, so it's funny you mentioned him! As for Jojo, I had a lesson set up with him once about ten years ago and then I couldn't make it. :( Talk about shitty! Most of my drum n bass ideas just come from when i used to listen to dnb. I always loved the dark and choppy dnb.

  • @kindbeats -- Jeez, how much would a lesson with Mayer have cost, even that long ago? Now ... I can hear wallets crying.

  • @wedel219 It was through the Drummers Collective, so it was actually quite affordable for a lesson with Jojo. Makes the fact that I missed the lesson that much more painful! :(

  • man, i'm feeling the drumming style pretty unique!
