I did a 40 day water fast this year and let me tell you, you cannot do it without the presence of God. If you believe this isn't true, then I implore you to try a water fast for yourself and see how far you get without calling upon a higher power. It was the most difficult thing, and the best thing I have ever done in my life. It also corrected my metabolism. While I gained weight initially afterward, it fell off quickly and I was able to lose a bit more since with very little effort.

Most animals on earth choose to fast when they feel something is wrong in their bodies. It's the body's way of regenerating and healing. Starving yourself to induce hallucinations and "mystic" visions has been documented since the stone age. Most of these pains, wars, disease, disorders, abuse, come from the lack of spiritual strength and inner peace and that often comes from taking part willingly, or otherwise, in a greedy society full of sin. Wars are caused by a desire for control, power, wealth, resources, land, etc. and personal struggles are caused by insecurities and pain.

I feel sorrow and pity for those who allow themselves to waste away. Another observation I made was that she became much less attractive on the inside while fasting, and only became worse for the wear on the outside.

I did a 40 day water fast this year and let me tell you, you cannot do it without the presence of God. If you believe this isn't true, then I implore you to try a water fast for yourself and see how far you get without calling upon a higher power. It was the most difficult thing, and the best thing I have ever done in my life. It also corrected my metabolism. While I gained weight initially afterward, it fell off quickly and I was able to lose a bit more since with very little effort.

@askegg Learn about water fasting and the healing benefits before you speak about something you don't know. It is very hard to fast, but very worth it for all of the benefits. Most animals on earth choose to fast when they feel something is wrong in their bodies. It's the body's way of regenerating and healing. You slow down or stop healing/repairing when you eat constantly. Your body is processing chemicals and it just gets overloaded. That's where disease comes in.

@askegg not much obviously, but people can interpret religion in any number of ways, delusional or dangerous as they may be. More worrying is the seeming failure of those close to her to recognize the danger she posed to herself and her children. Does she belong to a church, I wonder? Does she have a husband? The possibility that others might have supported her behavior because it was an "expression of faith" is what I find troubling.

Starving yourself to induce hallucinations and "mystic" visions has been documented since the stone age. Other than some minor brain tissue loss and incidental organ damage, it really can help get you more in tune ; IF suicide is your goal.
