  • Haha!!!!!!!! I still got to travel in one of those ol' looking buses 2 years ago, from Memphis TN, to Dallas TX, on my way to Mexico, where I still reside, my greetings from Mexico amigos

  • @commercialclassic That bus driver was my grandfather. He passed away this past summer. Was a really great guy, and he wore a smile like that all the time.

  • @Slimee I am sorry to hear about your grandfather. May he rest in peace. How old was he? He surely did a great job in the commercial. He looked genuinely interested in his job and filming the commercial.

  • Good looking bus, the MCI (Motor Coach Industries) model-9....sold pretty well with Greyhound and other long distance coach companies too, from when it was first introduced in 1978 to when it ended in 1990.

  • Their slogan and jingle was originally introduced in 1963...and they're still using it today.

  • The grandma in this commercial played "Estelle" on Family Matters.

  • @apachette07 I see. I think you are right. She also played Maybell (Nell's Mother) on Gimme a Break in the 1980s.

  • The lady in the commercial appears to resemble Oprah Winfrey? Also, did the lady in the commercial playing grandma also play Maybell on Gimme a Break?

  • Wow this is a nice commercial. I am not sure the service is as real as depicted in this commercial. It was great to see.

  • Greyhound has changed over the years

  • Anyone want to loan me a few million to buy out Greyhound and improve their employee's image so it's like in the commercial?

  • why i cry at the end!?

  • The driver in this commercial is my husband's Uncle Joe. He drove for Greyhound his entire adult life up to retirement, and has just turned 90! He still smiles in just the same way!

  • @psychprofno1

I wish the drivers employees for Greyhound today were as kind as your husband's Uncle Joe. My experience with Greyhound (which was my very first) today was extremely unpleasant I'm very sorry to say.

  • @Flashmikko i am become a greyhound driver.i start next week.

  • @wbooker10

Good for you! I hope that someday you're my driver and that you teach your fellow employees a thing or two about manners and curtosey to your paying customers. Good for you!

  • @Flashmikko what did the bus driver do?

  • @wbooker10

He was just short tempered and rude to his passengers. It kind of reminded me of the attitude of employees you find at the DMV. The same went for those that were at the station. However, I must admit, the trip back which I took today was much better. The driver while not nearly as kind as the man in the commercial was at least polite and at the station, the employees didn't just try to get rid of me when I asked them a question. So I guess not all employees are like that.

  • No wonder they are in trouble - non-Whites are what everyone, including other non-Whites, want to avoid. They actually showed in their commercials you would be herded in with Blacks.

  • @ScottfromTexas wow!!" This came out of no where i am a BLACK greyhound driver & so was my father before he became an mta driver this is my 2year i hope i run in to you Mr.Texas and my father hopes he runs into you to he told me to tell you that he is 100% black not just half like me. and he would love to show you the greyhound drivers way when it comes to people like you.

  • Hahahaha I took one from Miami to Orlando about 25 yrs ago... It wasn't fun at all...

  • Memories... when we used to visit grandma / family in SC via Greyhound from...NEW YORK CITY! I think it's a 20 hour trip each way... *shrugs*
