Tom Jones wasn't meant to be on this show. He was at the BBC for an interview in the next studio, heard the music and wandered in. He got chatting to Jools, they went for lunch and Jools said he would mention an artist or song and Tom would sing it back to him. He was amazed, it was like having a jukebox. Anyway when they got back to the studio they knocked this out pretty quickly a bit adhoc. Made the show and the Legends DVD which this is taken from.
This is one of my favorite country tunes of all time. And I've always liked Tom Jones. Quite an enjoyable version here...and the piano playing is awesome. THANKS very much for shring this gem with us! :)
I've read in Mojo I believe that Tom Jones' favorite listening is the Jerry Lee Lewis complete Sun Records boxset (Jerry Lee recorded a great early version of this song).
went to see Tom jones, back in the day,..he was awesome!

Is this a Jerry Lee Lewis song or a Ray Price song?
titostacos 2 years ago
The song is originally by Ray Price but I can tell you by the piano that this is a cover of Jerry-Lee's cover if that makes any sense!
