i noticed there are 3 dislikes on here how can you dislike a bloody funeral, let alone the funeral of a soldier who gave up his life so you can be free to write your stupid dislikes on here. would you have the same opinion if it was any one from your family. learn what deep sorrow loss brings then come back on here and see if your opinion is still the same !!!!!
its nice to see the respect people pays for you guys in the states, in CANADA when u say u are a vet you get treated like shit and people tell you that you are a murderer.......they just dont know the sacrifice...
@nikkigirl32 as a civvy and a PGR i can agree 1000% with this. semper fi. always faithful. i will have their back until GOD calls me home. and then ill be up there welcoming them in
As I watched this posting, I am reminded of all of the Service Men and Women who have fought for this great country of ours, and gave the greatest sacrifice of all. This video could be taken in any small town in the United States. We may have our differences, but we are one great country who will send her Men and Women into harms way when asked. To the family of 1st Lt. Walkrup, my condolences. May we Never Forget any of our American Hero's.
I was in this crowd and can honestly say it will never be forgotten. There where protesters in our town that day...funny how they seemed to just leave before the funeral started...I dont honestly think they will ever come back to our lil town.....All service men deserve a welcome home like this...not just those who have given their life
Frank Walkup was a good friend of mine and marched with me in the Riverdale High School ROTC drill team. Funniest guy I have ever met, but always honorable. But just one of thousands of men who have gave their all so we keep living.
These men and women sacrifice their weekends and jobs just to honor those who've sacrificed so much more. RIP and thank you 1st Lt. Frank Walkup for your service and dedication to this country and allowing me to remain free. And thank you to the Patriot Gaurd to give Lt. Walkup a proper procession
@Brunaburg As someone who lives in that tiny town I thank you for your kind words. We are very proud of it(Woodbury Tn) , I've been several cities across the country but haven't a more welcoming town. But maybe I'm biased after all it is my hometown. :)
@Brunaburg As someone who lives in that tiny town I thank you for your kind words. We are very proud of it(Woodbury Tn) , I've been in several cities across the country but haven't found a more welcoming town. But maybe I'm just biased after all it is my hometown. :)
Thank you SOOOO MUCH for posting this. I've never seen what we look like from your perspective, standing beside the road. No wonder I see so many burly bikers with tears streaming down their cheeks. RIP Marine Michael Bailey, being buried in my town today. Leadwood, MO and the protesters ARE supposed to be here. I love you Patriot Guard Rider!
@angelflyn2low its our honor to do this. i may be as big around as ONE of these bikers legs lol. but when i ride. hte love i see from thoe along the roadside. brings me to tears. lets me know hte hero we are accompanying home. was very much loved
It's been 3 years since Lt. Walkups death. My son served under him and was there when he was killed he has not been the same since. He seperated from the army this past Feb. and yesterday put a sticker in his car window that has the saying HEROS DONT FALL THEY GAIN WINGS it has Lt. Walkups name and other friends that were lost while he was there. We will never forget.
Thank you for posting. I encourage eveyone to pass on videos to honor those who serve. Please never forget those who are serving and have served. Show them our support here and abroad. Never let us forget their sacrifice. Thank them for their service as you see them. They have paid an ultimate sacrifce and their families have too. God bless.
those are some good people, to honor a fallen hero in such a great way is truly beautiful..if only all americans could be such great human beings. RIP 1LT Walkup.
These small towns are the hearts of america and make me so proud to see so many support our men and woman in service, I wish our goverment supported them half as good
Sadly, I am attending the funeral of a friend of mine tomorrow. He died in Afghanistan from small arms fire. I have much respect for these men and women. They honor those of us fighting in a way that can't even be expressed with words.
I want to move there. That's what America should be!! God Bless them all for riding and going out on the street. I am crying so hard as I watch this. Combat Marine of 2 Wars, and would have loved to been apart of that town. Awesome RESPECT!!! I love you all...
First, no one can repay the sacrifce of this fallen American Soldier and his family!! A town that stood tall in welcoming back it's fallen HERO... 1st LT Walkup. This scene brings a tear to my eye and makes me proud to have been a Marine, as well as an American when I see this. God bless you all in Woodburry, TN !!! Semper Fi..........Timothy J.
i am canadian but i still support the american troops as well, cus with out them id never have the freedom to go on vacation to ur fine country so after i visited preal habor (hawaii) this summer i wear a thing around my wirst that says " a nation remembers" " december. 7th, 1941" as a trubite to your fine troops and im sorry if my spelling isnt perfect, im not a good speller
I didn't know 1st Lt. Walkup but my brother did. I'm from Woodbury and I was surprised to see this when it happened. We all truly loved him and I am proud to say I shared a hometown with a hero like him. God bless our Military.
thank you guys you dont even know these soilders yet you selflessly take time out of your life to pay respect to these hero's of america its good to know that there are people like you that make the hardest moment in a persons life a little easier to bare.
It does good to FEEL loss. It is the price paid for freedom, liberty and the AMERICAN way! I truely hope the current generation is able to "feel" what this is and understand, HARD sacrifices must be made to maintane our American freedoms and liberties. It is said,"Freedom isn't free". We old veterans know this first hand, it is imperative that we teach our children these hard lessons if we, as a free prople, are to continue to exist in the world today. HT2 RKB USN, St. Louis, MO
Does it do good to lose ones father or husband? A monthly check does not sooth. It does not walk a daughter down the aisle and does not bounce grandchildren on it's knee. HARD sacrifices are more than something one must FEEL. It's something some of us face on a day to day basis. I know the cost of freedom. Instead of saying we need to feel loss why not say we need to RESPECT loss. I pray my husband can bounce our grandchild on his knee as my father never could. Army Daughter, Proud Army Wife
I am comforted by the fact that there are still places in America where the people care about things like service and duty and patriotism. God bless these town folk! Respect was in full bloom and honor was rendered as apropriate for the 1st Lt., Frank Walkup.
thank you from all of at the Aco 3rd plt Spartans. he was a great leader i would have done anything he said. He done so much for us we watched him grow and he made us grow. A Spartan until the end placed his life before ours my leader good bye. SPC Joshua Floyd
Thankyou Patriot Guards, for everything that you did for my son on his day of homecoming. I will always remember the awesome respect that each of you showed to my son and I am forever grateful.
with your permission ma'am. may i say it was touching for me to watch this. we lost one from dubois county in indiana about a year ago. one of the hardest things i had to do as a father was pass that closed casket with my two sons and explain to those young men 15 and 13 that i was proud of this soldier who fought as a marine should for his country. i hope they realize his sacrifice. i will not however discourage them from becoming marines. please understand mother, it's about honor and respect.
Golden - I wanted to take the time to say thank you for doing that with your sons. You are a great example of what a great dad is and should be. I ride with the Patriot Guard Riders, and saw this first hand with another father, that pulled over as we went by, got out, and explained to his young son what we were doing. It we moving to see that, that there are still people that teach kids respect and honor. So thank you for doing that, you are a good man.
Just wanted to let you know your son did not die in vain. We will always remember him and thank God for the sacarafices our military members and families go through every day. May God comfort you. Thank you for your son's service.
I have never spent a 4th doing anything more important or moving then this. It was a emotional reminder of the sacrafice being paid to keep our county great. I am proud to be a Patriot Guard Rider, and even prouder to be the big brother of a U.S. Marine veteran of 2 tours in Irag.
Thank you for this video. We were in the first group of bikes that went ahead to the cemetery and set up the flag line. The outpouring of support form the community had me in tears by the time we arrived at the cemetery.
