I would rather have a needle stick that hurts for only a few seconds than becoming seriously ill and dying within a few days. It's better to be safe than sorry.

My advice for tetanus shots, take it in your butt (hurts less). Got tetanus shot in my butt early this morning. I've been sick all week and got dizzy last night and as I tried to catch myself sliced my arm open on a fence tool we left on the counter. 6 stitches + 1 tetanus shot = many ouchies! It actually hurt more when they numbed the area to be stitched then the tetanus shot did. I asked for it to be in my butt because it hurts less there. Still hurts though. Feels like a nail is in my butt

my shoulder is really sore. feels like i have a bruise, but there's nothing there. the shot itself didn't hurt. you can feel a prick, but it honelstly isn't bad. i'm afraid of shots and i have a very low pain tolerance, but it's okay. just be sure to rub your arm. it keeps the blood flowing, and pumps the vaccine throughout your body, making your arm hurt less. :] you don't start to feel it til hours later. don't worry about it.
