  • I remember hearing this song get lots of airplay on San Diego's 92.3 FM during the summer of 1987. I am a white guy appreciates good R&B when I hear it. This talented singer probably would have crossed over if his life was not cut so short.

  • Great song. One hit wonder but a fantastic song. Love the 80s fashion on show baggy suits and soul glow hair

  • I like the beginning with the 3 beutiful backup dancers ,Its ashame he died i would have liked to have herd more from him great song really great voice

  • That bass and synth kick it and then............... that voice enters and the rest is a masterpiece....... Respect to the backing vocals, like pouring cream over the the very best dessert.......

  • It feels so good to hear this again after so many years but i had such a feeling of loss when i found out he has died. But the music lives on, such a good piece of classic 80's R&B, one of my fav's from back then

  • I LOVE this song!!!!!!!!!!! I really searched to find it. Sherrick is a gorgeous man...he had a great voice. So sad that he died young. But, there are many of us out here who have NOT FORGOTTEN HIM....!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WOw, where did you find this joint. I remeber this gettin g played to death on WBLS back in the late 80s.

  • This was arguably the best R&B song by a new artist in 1987, and it was one of the best overall R&B songs of that year by any artist, the smooth, funky groove, the nice musical arrangements, and Sherrick's outstanding soulful vocals created unfortunately what would be the only hit of his short career. Sadly over a period of time he developed a dependency for cocaine, which he struggled with for quite some years, and in 1999, he passed away, gone but certainly not forgotten, R.I.P. Sherrick.

  • @3811iberis Truly one of the last great R&B vocalists. It's so disheartening to hear about the way addiction to drugs and alcohol takes a vise-grip hold on so many of our R&B legends and superstars.Nevetheless, that takes nothing away from this man's music. I jumped through the roof when I heard this song and it's been a while since I have. There will never be anything like this ever again.Enjoy and cherish this great old school jam.Reast in Peace Sherrick.

  • I miss New York Hot Tracks. I wish I had recorded more videos from that show back then, but then again VHS tapes were as expensive as Double Capacity DVDs

  • Genius tune just i-tunes would stick it on...Good work Thanks!
